CP Green Tree Additional Skill Request: Increased Antiquity Lead Drop Chance

I would really love me an "improve drop rate of Antiquity Leads" skill in the green tree.

Some Antiquities are really hard to farm.

Dozens and Dozens of Gryphon kills, not a single drop
4+ hours of running Bar-Tel and only one pet lead to show for it
Fishing ones can be really bad too
ShutYerTrap (selectively mute NPC dialogues (stuga, companions); displayleads (antiquity leads location); UndauntedPledgeQueuer (small daily undaunted dungeon queuer window)

i don't think they would mix base game functionality with things from purchased chapters/dlcs

Some of what they have already affects dlc, though: better chance of higher quality loot in treasure chests affects chests in all zones and dungeons, while the homemaker node increases chances of getting highly sought after plans from dlc areas as well as base game.

If they made a node related to antiquities, since that’s specifically dlc content, I wouldn’t foresee too much of an issue provided they worked it into a similar game-wide passive such as: “increase chance of higher quality loot off creatures,” so as to cover not only antiquities but also creature trophies (which can be a huge pain to farm!) and perhaps even runebox fragments, like kitty parts from Karthwasten and Cartographer’s stuff from Nchoogesundheit in Blackreach.

Why does the green CP to improve Blade of Woe exist then?

    there is already afaik.

And as long as it's not a "gatekeeper" cp skill I really don't see the issue...

    That would be nice.

I lost count how many hours I spent in Bad Man's Hallow for the lead to drop. Compounding the really low mob density, the slow respawn rate and the fact that everyone and their dog wants/needs this item it was a real chore.

I had to resort to going there at 4 AM on weekdays and eventually after 10 hours (that is 5 sessions of 2 hours before getting ready for work) I managed to get it.

Thankfully is one of those things that you only need to do once - screw filling the codex entries on this one.

There's also Meticulous Disassembly, which affects Jewelry crafting.
I haven't even thought about this, but that's another point against having MD be a single, high cost star instead of being broken up into a 4-5 star subconstellation: people who don't own Summerset will only get 3/4th of the benefits this star offers.

And that’s a way to help encourage sales.

This can actually be gotten around without dlc ownership or subbing by grabbing the Blade of Woe during an ESO+ free trial. It stays with you, unlike the ability to use jewelrycrafting stations.

Everyone gets leads regardless of whether they have the Greymoor DLC. Of course, you can't act on those leads. But Greymoor will soon be part of ESO+, as is Summerset, making it more accessible. And, I agree that if it's just the end node of a constellation, then players can easily ignore it.

But, I like the idea of having a star that would affect additional kinds of drops, so as to make it more useful.

I mean, if it being part of a DLC is a problem to some, why not make the first cluster for Craft about DLC systems. Blade of Woe perks, bonuses to heists or sacraments of some kind, Antiquity Lead drop chance increase, perhaps some perks related to Companions...

What I would really like to see is a green CP that increases the odds of dungeon/trial gear dropping that you haven't added to your collection yet.
I farmed Direfrost Keep for a lightning staff so much and eventually got the lead, but now I am literally only missing that staff and two weapons from another set before I have it all from there and I spent most of my time skipping all bosses until the last one, so I am being as efficient with my time as I possibly can and yet it still took me days with no end in sight.
This Bosmer was tortured to death. There is nothing left to be done.

I'd so very much love this too. Or alternatively one that gives intermediate bosses a higher chance to drop weapons in general.

Don’t forget that leads expire, though, so without Greymoor you will lose them soon enough. If you could bank them permanently without Greymoor, then there would be more of a benefit to a node like this for all players.

The Blade of Woe is in a different position in that it is a functionality that can be permanently unlocked for free without any form of payment beyond buying the base game. It would be like Thieves Troves or Psijic Portals dropping better items. Those can also be acquired permanently completely free.

But I agree that having any of these as completely optional offshoots wouldn’t be a problem. The position of Shadowstrike bothers me more the more I think about it, since it lies linearly between base-game nodes. You can get the rest of the circle by taking both Fade Away and Friends in Low Places, but this entire circle is comprised of all-or-nothing nodes that range between 25 and 75 CP. That gets very expensive very quickly, so the more flexibility the better.

A subconstellation for DLC nodes — provided it was not a gatekeeper as the right side minimage is — or adding central spokes (as in the red tree) to make the edges of the Thief’s cloak more accessible would add a lot more flexibility. Both sides of the green tree feel very restrictive right now because of the long prerequisite chains.
