I don't think anyone knows the new xp gain formula yet
your argument is still largely based off an assumption
I have a gut feeling they are going to go back to the 30 CP per quarter increase and they are only allowing us to use above that now to test the system. That means we are going to be back to the same 120 CP levels a year soft cap and people being able to bank for future increases so it will be about 21 years before we hit 3600 usable CP. In which case we would just end up with a worse version of CP than we had.

Yes this would be it. Zos needs to properly implement a soft cap. why they dont understand this, is beyond me.

That would make progression in this game an even bigger stagnant cesspool than it was. I hope they don't go back to 30 a quarter. Maybe like 3-4 times that.

Its not. I speak from experience on PTS, whereas you speak not even from the patch notes, but out of nothing but air. Sadly, the fact is, to be min maxed, you need a lot more XP than before, to the point where even 1200 cp player will lose if he is fighting an evenly matched opponent if that opponent has more cp. That is a fact, and not assumption.

I earn 3 to 5 CP every 2 weeks on top of my day job. ZoS is doling out XP scrolls like crazy. You should have known right from the beginning. Champion Points were not going away. The Devs want you to get those CPs beyond 810 and more. You had nearly 3 years since ZoS froze the CP cap. Any vet player should have way more than 1K CP by now. I myself is at 1340 CP.

They already put the new XP curve on the pts as is 6.3.2 AFAIK.

Well in pvp, you earn barely any xp. So earning cp will be slow. That's the issue - it doesn't come naturally if you only play pvp.

So try playing the other 95% of the game and get some XP.

Am I only the only one at least mildly excited to have something to work towards again?
For me it will be quite a trifle, because I have to manage my blue CP to fit a tank and also have the stars needed to switch to a proper DD setup. I have 1700 CP at the moment and am far from being at the point of having both when this update goes live.
But I am happy to have a sense of progression again, where every CP will be a reason to sheer and 1 step closer to having it. And let's not even start if I want to get into healing again.
Of course you could just hard respec CP every time you switch roles. But that's very unsatisfying and expensive in the long run. I look forward to eventually having it all. Even if it's in the far future.
It does not take much to have the yellow base stars finished and to fill your 4 slottable ones. So pvpers (notoriously one track minded fighters) should be quite fine for the most part.

ZOS_BrianWheeler wrote: »Considering we haven’t raised the cap by 30 per patch in quite some time, we adjusted the CP curve to accommodate for that difference with a focus on speeding up the gain between 810 CP and roughly 1200 CP. This means you’ll gain CP levels faster at lower levels, and the rate at which you gain CP between 810 and 1200 (ish) will be slightly faster than how it is now with CP 1.0. After 1200 CP or so, the CP gain rate will feel about the same as it did in CP 1.0 once you reached higher ranks.

Thanks for your input, Dracane. I understand your point. But would you really say the same if you were cp 1200? or cp 1000? or cp 800? or cp 500?
1700, though still a lot of XP away from the soft cap, is still a lot closer than the majority of the rest of us. If Zos managed to properly add horizontal progression which they somehow think they have done with this (which they HAVENT) then i would agree. But this clear vertical progression will take years for someone like me who just wants to compete fairly in a pvp environment to get. I also play in duel tournaments and regular 1v1s in the duel spot, where literally 1% dmg taken, or 1% damage done is enough to swing the fight in your favor/against your favor. This is an absolute nukage to someone like me, who will be forced to grind literally 100s of millions of XP. Im just frustrated, but i will see it from your perspective as well. People has indeed been asking for better value for their CP, and i do agree somewhat. But this way they have done it now is not the way in my opinion.

I believe I would be similarly as excited. My goal would then be to reach what is needed to properly fullfill one role. And at such low CP, leveling would be a breeze. So while someone with such low CP has more to catch up on, they can do it in almost the same time thanks to the adjusted XP curve. (Might honestly need some more honing though)

lol the audacity to say that. "just play something else and dont complain" did u see the outrage when rapids went from alliance rank 1 to 5? if we dared to say "just play pvp then" we would be met with hardcore critisism (and with good reason, as it is extremely rude).
We are pvp players and have already played our fair share of pve, and whatever else. at least i have. I am cp 1200, have all dungeon HMs except the ones after frostvault, all trials skins except the last one from skyrim.
you dare tell people to "play something else than what you enjoy and dont complain"?? this is a game man, its meant to be fun. I understand i need to grind sometimes. and i do it without complain all the time. when vatesh arena weapons are meta, and i am forced to spend weeks in there for my 1 drop, i do it without complain. But I also want to play what what want to. and (me) someone who is used to being max, now being forced to grind for years to be able to compete against the other top tier pvpers on an even field is insane, and is rightfully allowed to be complained about. You obviously dont have this issue, as you dont care about pvp, so you dont even try to put yourself in our situation and just states without any counter: "play something else", it is very hard to take you seriously.
Thank you, have a nice day
