That is not RP. Its flexing. RP is becoming the character. Its very hard in this game.
You calling it a flex is a flex itself. How on earth is it even remotely a flex? "because i don't know how to do it, therefore it's a flex, everyone who uses costume dyes i don't own is flexing!"
I have been here since the beta. There are people everywhere flexing away all around the popular places. To call my complaint a flex is dumb.
I have costumes and pets from way back, stuff very few people have. I cab stand on a horse and do all the stupid things you call rp. Its not. RP is Role Playing. Becoming the character and what the hordes of people do is flexing. "Look at my cool thing and boy I can spin my staff, aren't I great?" Is in no way RP.
You must be really fun at parties. Let the people use these animation glitches, it's not like they harm anyone.

Subject here from link above
"Emotes can no longer be started while blocking.
Blocking during an emote will now interrupt it."
When people block during emotes it is fun as we can use it to our advantage with friends, making out staff spin and do random things. We don't need this changed. I will defend 99% of changes in thw game- but I highly disagree with this one gor the sole purpose of it being a great part of RPing (I hold my staff up with the duchess personality /tilt) or holding my weapons in stances that match my characters personality for role playing. Or just being rediculous.
Please, I beg you guys- don't change this.
I hope the picture shows. Its of patch note

This is my preferred idle stance while trial leaders are laboriously explaining mechanics to newcomers. Firespin, go to refill my coffee, come back to find people spinning with me. It injects a small amount of joy into tedious moments.

They hurt my eyes. Its not a healthy thing to do anyway. Showing off is not a thing to be encouraged.

This community is probably the only community I've seen embrace bugs and glitches as core parts of the game and demand they should never be fixed. You lot have a bad habit of justifying any glitch under the sun.
"Light Weaving creates a skill gap/ceiling"
"Pre-Buffing is strategic"
"Emote-Blocking is for just for role-playing, I promise"
Honestly, ZOS needs to squash bugs not try to turn them into features. I've said it before and I'll say it again.
BUGS ARE NOT FEATURES

You and I agree that bugs are not features... that said pre-buffing is strategic (and intentional design.. but then they realized some balance issues might exist), and I'd like to understand the issue you seem to have with the Emote blocking. Since you take that stance there, defend it! Tell me how this can be exploited to combat advantage... I'm waiting....
That said, I still think 'weaving" is a bug, regardless of ZOS change in stance from years ago (when they couldn't fix it).
I think you are intelligent, and could identify real problems for the ZOS team to address. let's put emote block right after a patch to address 'weaving" shall we?

Its a costume/armour you wear. Why would I care?

Are you really trying to dictate how other people RP?

RP means something. It is from RPG, which means Role Playing Game. As I have been playing RPGs longer than many of you have been alive, I know what that means.
It does not mean standing around where you can maybe impress someone, and spamming some animation or other.

So people will do their rp in text or voice chat or even just by themselves walking around town, and they'll have emotes and whatnot to go with it. Let's say for example they use some of the ones from the swashbuckler personality. You can block to use your character's weapon in the emote instead of the sword the personality gives you. Really not that hard to understand. You're just being argumentative for the sake of it at this point.

So you're willing to cause grief to other players just because you don't like that they use emotes?

Not at all. You have not explained what 'rp' means. I understand the animations and how they work. Hell I could animation cancel really well in 2014. Its a skill I use to this day.

You are making us role-players AND us grumpy old farts look bad. It's okay to yell at the younguns to get off your lawn if they are actually on your lawn. If they are in a public park, let them be. Someone's first introduction to role-play might actually be just doing something that looks cool to them but could later make them think about character traits and flesh out a personality. Do not try to force other people to role-play the way you do or you will drive them out of it completely. We didn't build a role-playing community by making it sound snooty and unapproachable.
It would be totally fine to remove emotes from the game all together. They are not relevant to game play.

@poodlemasterb16_ESO How the hell is not RPing? There were a bunch of people who used the emotes when roleplaying a werewolf character and wished for more useable ones. The ones that was available was a bit limited but it was nice having a little. (The emotes useable in werewolf form was /crouch, /cower, /playdead or knockeddown, /smash, /take, /begone).
I've no idea why you think this is only used for "flexing". Whatever that is.
