Subject here from link above
"Emotes can no longer be started while blocking.
Blocking during an emote will now interrupt it."

When people block during emotes it is fun as we can use it to our advantage with friends, making out staff spin and do random things. We don't need this changed. I will defend 99% of changes in thw game- but I highly disagree with this one gor the sole purpose of it being a great part of RPing (I hold my staff up with the duchess personality /tilt) or holding my weapons in stances that match my characters personality for role playing. Or just being rediculous.

Please, I beg you guys- don't change this.

I hope the picture shows. Its of patch note

    I totally agree. I don't complain too much about change but this was really just having fun with friends. My PvP guild was finally learning the RP ropes ;-;
Kind of like riding a mount while standing up...
Is there any particular reason why?

As someone who never leaves Cyrodiil, looking at the patchnotes and how they greatly impact PVP.... This change here is the one I am most upset about.

    Please don't remove this :(

Remember the time when we could emote while walking? Yeah, ZOS changed that too.

I agree 100% with you here. I was really bummed when I found out this change was made on the PTS this morning. Holding weapons while emoting is so useful for RP purposes, taking screenshots & storytelling. I really hope they don't go through with this change, but I have a bad feeling that they will. :(

I didn't even know you could and just did /wave before blocking with my staff. My character waved with the staff in her hand. Please don't remove this ZOS.

Did they nerf roleplay? What a time to be alive.
I didn't know this was a thing but now I want it to stay.

Anything that cuts down the constant flexing wherever there are lots of people gets my vote. Well done Zenimax.

Going back through threads, this isn't the first time they nerfed it either. Wow. That's a good way to kill the fun, ZoS. I guess you really want me to give other games my money. I'm not buying a personality just to flip weapons when it was already a bug twice, if not three times, before.

Unless there is some type of exploit being used re: Emote by Blocking this seems a change that is unnecessary. I understand that this may have been unintended, and they may be cleaning up code and polishing some things that have been forgotten about since forever...but they need to back off here.
It's like LA weaving, it wasn't intended but it became the norm and was accepted as a "feature, not a bug".

May I suggest changing the title of this thread to something more detailed that may get traction & not clickbait? Like "RP mechanic doesn't need nerfed" or "Unnecessary change that affects only RPs with no benefit to other players" or
"Emoting while blocking- A feature not a bug!"

I agree to sone extent- but I want the devs to see this. They in my opinion definatley don't know how rpers use it. Tomorrow I may update this thread with photos of my use of emote blocking

You can tag the devs. I doubt they lol at every message addressing Zenimax/Devs. I'm fact, I think it'd get more attention with a specific, unambiguous title.

Updating your original post to show examples of how you utilize this "feature" in the game is going to be much more positive than complaining and hoping someone clicks. You have the opportunity to persuade people who have never even been aware this existed, but see no reason to remove it. I know even streamer partner Matygon made the (offhand, paraphrased) comment while seeing the patch notes "I've never done this, but..." With some suggestion that he'd use that "feature" had he known it existed.

Players having fun for free was not intended and will be fixed in next major patch. If you want to continue having fun while playing this game you need to buy a Fun Token pack, available soon from Crown store. Each token gives 2 hour access when consumed (time does not tick down while logged out).

It would be totally fine to remove emotes from the game all together. They are not relevant to game play.

I have a feeling that it was changed because this is something they're trying to find a way to monetize in the future. Unless there's some kind of actual combat exploit or some issue with personalities causing some crazy issues. It's sad that they're taking away some of the only uniqueness of the game that's left.

No! I love to use firespin + staff. It looks so cool, especially if you have a monster staff equipped and mix the flames with different particle effects. This is my preferred idle stance while trial leaders are laboriously explaining mechanics to newcomers. Firespin, go to refill my coffee, come back to find people spinning with me. It injects a small amount of joy into tedious moments.

I have been here since the beta. There are people everywhere flexing away all around the popular places. To call my complaint a flex is dumb.

I have costumes and pets from way back, stuff very few people have. I can stand on a horse and do all the stupid things you call rp. Its not. RP is Role Playing. Becoming the character and what the hordes of people do is flexing. "Look at my cool thing and boy I can spin my staff, aren't I great?" Is in no way RP.

Just don't block and the emote will play. If you're in a position where you would need to block (combat) I don't think you'd want to be activating an emote anyways.
