You can change their armor. Like someone else mentioned, if this is visible on the character, then at least all the clones in the game won't all be dressed alike.
I hope we can change their hair as well, for the same reason, and use costumes on them.

I just really hope that they don’t block interaction with quest givers or turn-ins. The freaking bears and twilights are awful enough.

Hey wait, will this turn every class into a pet class then?

    .... AWESOME!!!!
    Interesting idea

Personally I just want Warden class to just be able to change the bear,

I play an Argonian Warden - why do I have to use a Bear?

At least give me the Lizard-Bear option.

My first thought: "My romance choices will be pretty limited with just 2 companions at the moment."

I have seen this in SWTOR and it sucked!
Effectively turned an MMO in large parts into a single player game b/c the companions were so overtuned (not in the beginning but later on).

they will tank better than 90% of fake tank that we end up with in group finder :)

You better hope they will deal more damage than the 98% of DDs you get when queueing. You can out-dps a lot of mechanics, you can't out-tank them though. Adds won't commit suicide b/c they get bored.

Agree completely, and unfortunately if we are stuck with this, then I suggest that if they are going to rip-off SWTOR do it right, the Companions should have three settings, Tank, DPS, and Heals.

And there will much written about this in the future, but why is the heck would you want to "romance" an NPC in a game?

Edited for typos and to be less aggressive.

    Really, criticizing Romance option?

You do know this is a Roleplaying game right? And that building friendships and relationships with characters has been a longtime feature of RPGs?

This has been the case for both BioWare and Bethesda games. It’s not unique to SWTOR.
It’d make sense that they’d allow the player to do that.

"Really, criticizing Romance option? " Actually I am. You have many good points in in a variety of different discussions, I also just a few moments ago sent a message thanking you for posting and interesting Vid. I have played ESO and SWTOR since Beta. I personally find the romancing aspect in SWTOR to be something I am just not interested in, and the idea a bit strange. But that's me. If it's your thing go for it. “Suum cuique” .

You could ask that about many things. Why does housing exist? Why can you dye your armor? Why is there an outfit system? Some people like it for immersion or roleplay reasons. If you don't need it, don't use it. Simple.

Well, romance won’t be an option right away with the Chapter at any rate, according to Rich. It is on their schedule, but they didn’t have time to add romance options yet, at least not to a level that they felt would be satisfying.
