What is the point of Khajiits?

With crit being gutted in update 29 and a measly 2% added to the crit damage/healing passive, what is the point of this race outside of role playing?

    I agree with this sentiment.

    Someone like WrathOfInnos probably knows where the break-even on their Critical Damage passive would need to be set in order to be competitive with the meta DPS races.

    On a mag char it looks like a 6% to 8% crit chance loss on an average magicka build from set and light armour changes. Waiting to see what there is for crit chance in the new CP system.

    Ya I would agree. Khajiit is the mag or stam crit go too. Its not really usefull without it other than a thief build.

    I agree with this sentiment.

    I’ll have to see where crit chance lands after all the set changes and CP rework.

    In the current live patch 12% crit damage would be pretty close to the same effect as the 258 Spell Damage on other races.

    Then it comes down to just missing 1085 Max Magicka, which is about 1.5% DPS for most PVE builds. I think that would be an acceptable tradeoff for the small health and sustain bonuses, so I’m pretty happy with the change at first glance. I think it could easily be 1k health/mag/stam without making Khajiit overpowered (very similar to the now-nerfed Orc then), but 915 isn’t terrible.

    We’ll see where crit chance ends up. If its 45% instead of the current ~60-65% then Khajiit could end up in a bad place still.

    The problem with the thief is that it's useless in any PVE trash pull or burn where mechanical acuity can be used.

    It will be interesting to see.

    There's so many factors here that could affect it as well. One example is the changes in CP and base stats to that they are now flat increases to spell and weapon damage and stamina and magicka (ie: CP stars, the increase in base stats, and the bonus flat damage with level).

    What this means is that racials that gives stats are now indirectly weaker, as they don't benefit from the +20% boost from CP anymore. (For the same reason it also kind of messes with the set bonus equivalence of stat vs damage as well but thats a different topic)

    Also in the case of Khajiit's crit damage, and also Argonian's healing done, these sort of racials mean these races benefit more from the addition of the flat in built buffs (in comparison to the races that get flat damage as a racial), because out of all the racials these bonuses are the only ones that are multiplicative with them. In the case of Khajiit is it enough to offset the loss do to crit chance being nerfed, possibly not, we will have to see. Plus the multitude of other changes that indirectly affect it.

    That’s a great point @ExistingRug61, the 1.1k Stam difference would be close to 1.5% DPS on live, but without that 20% resource multiplier on CPs it could be more like 1.2 or 1.3% DPS. They certainly seem closer to Orc, Altmer and Dunmer than they’ve been for the last few years.

    i feel like we will have to see where they're at. my khajiit frostden's crit chance went way down to 59% with precise, major prophecy, ms, perf false god and zaans. but it's still a little bit above the thief/shadow line. the shadow mundus will for sure be more niche though. i'd like to see how they do when the dust settles.
