I really don't get why you contrarians want to make things so difficult for others. I suspect Finder is on the right track with his/her post above explaining why people actively work to stop others from getting something: it doesn't benefit you, so you actively work against it. Just plain selfish.
One thing to keep in mind: I'm only asking it be an OPTION. Like I said in the op, if you like the vampire look, keep it. I'm not trying to force my opinion on anyone.
And frankly...the argument that 10% regen is the trade-off for the horrible look is asinine. We have entire skill trees that grant us benefits, many of which are stronger than those of vampirism, yet there are no trade-offs for those. They cost skill points and skill points only.
All I want is an option for my character to look the way I made her.
aside from the fact that glamour actualy exists in ESO and we have in game vampires actualy very successfully hiding their visible vampire (rivenspire story) its kinda funny that right now, in RL, we have makeup that can cover up scaring, tatoos etc... and yet some how in a land of MAGIC of ESO... we have skins that completely change our appearance but NOT basic foundation etc?
visible vampiric appearance makes. no. sense. especially when you consider just... going about general population looking like a vampire and somehow no one bats an eye.
If you are giong yo invoke rl as reason to be able to hide vampirism wiymth make up then I invoke rl as a reason the game should remove vampires, after all we do not have them in rl.
RL justifications just do not belong in a fantasy MMO, stick to thematic or lore justifications
except real life gets brought up often enough when "its not realistic" excuse is used.
the fact that ESo is NOT a real life is PRECISELY THE POINT. this is a game with MAGIC. MAGIC that was ESTABLISHED on multiple occasions to be capable of HIDING vampirism. so why are you totaly cool with glowing magma skins but... not being able to glamour up regular appearance?
please, stop pretending that your arguments have anything to do with lore, you just want to punish people for choosing to be a vampire even though as it has been pointed out that there are other multiple skill lines with strong passives that have NO drawbacks
well.. I even have a suggestion, to placate you "you must suffer" ilk.
a magically cast buff. you can only hide your vampiric appearance if you have that buff active and in order to maintain that buff, you lose, lets say 4k of your magika pool. this way, for actual combat - you just remove the buff, look all veiny and ugly becasue for whatever reason having other people's characters look terrible is important for you and have your full magika pool accessible. trying to look normal? have to cast that buff again. think of it as old school bound armaments, except instead of purple eyes, players get their normal appearance back and it costs part of magika pool as long as its active.
and speaking of which, I love how we have all these visual effects that we can cast on ourselves and its perfectly ok, and lore friendly, but a very basic glamour that npc's get to do all over the place? is somehow a no no. sigh.
Never once did I invoke lore. My whole premise is vampires are very powerful as is in game. DEVs decided appearance is a fair trade off for that power and I agree, in fact I think it is not enough but that is where it is at right now.
People asking to remove even that trade off are asking for to much. If they want that then either tone down the benefits or make it such that when they look normal you get no bonuses.
I proposed another option a while ago. Make vampires very weak during the daytime to actually match other ESO games. Funny how the lore people will invoke lore for appearance but want nothing to do with daytime weakness.

That is, we know that in real life, magic, monsters, super powers, don't exist the way they do in our imaginations. Games attempt to make their product as close to "reality" as they can, in order for the player to find some logical tie. A "that could happen", or "that makes sense, in this setting" so to speak.
That being said, it is perfectly within the realm of suspension of disbelief to think that vampires - at least some of them - would like to mingle with the populace and not be recognized for what they are. Cosmetics is certainly an option.
The concept "you are a vampire, you must look ugly and there is nothing you can do about it" does not make much sense, even in a game of suspended disbelief..
IMHO

I'm inclined to agree.
I really wish we simply had the five stages as different skins we unlocked as we leveled Vampire.

Do some lore research. Some vampires are not changed at all. They are monsters yet look like just as any ordinary mer or men. No pale skin, no glowing eyes, nothing. Did you play Oblivion at all?
@myskyrim26 those are cyrodiilic vampires only if you're gonna bring lore into this

1. there are already skins and armors that will hide the vampire skin so the lame argument of "in PVP we have to be able to tell who the vampires are" holds no water now and never did.
2. It is entirely lore appropriate for vampires to be able to visually blend among mortals. The game itself is FULL of such examples.
The fact that ZOS keeps ignoring this request for the past 5 years is inexcusable.
The PvP argument died when Dark Brotherhood dropped, and Vampirism no longer overrode the Mindshriven and Soulshriven skins.

Your points have been pointed out. I agree with you, and logic/reasoning agrees with you. But unfortunately there are always people out there who feel the need actively work against anything that doesn't benefit them (even if it also doesn't hurt them in any way).
I think ZOS wants to keep their playerbase happy but in situation like this, they're between a rock and hard place. ZOS needs subs from those unreasonable/selfish players too.

Actually, he looks more like he took a bath in Flour, or perhaps some other substance...
But they are also known to be able to hide their vampire nature, blending within the population, something that is not possible in this game no matter what makeup you use, the only thing that seems to work is skins and still it hints at the vampiric nature. Its part of their power its part of the loreNo. Vampires are unholy abominations and their wretched appearance is appropriate. You have the choice not to be vampire.
Just allow us to be able to hide looking like a vampire already, sell it as skin if you want.
