...It's been a LOOOONG time...
we have had no leveling at all, sitting at 810 with 200+ cp doing nothing

WHEN are we gonna get SOME way to level/improve out characters based off the XP from the game?

Potentially never... Core to this game's intended design is horizontal progression. It does on paper offer this well as there are many ways to achieve different roles and the combination of builds is insane. Where this falls down is the narrow meta we constantly find ourselves in. Other than that if you want to progress in levelling there are other MMOs that offer this including WOW.

Well unfortunately there will always be a narrow meta as long as there are people who obsess over speed runs and scoff at the idea of doing even .3% (that's point three percent) less damage to use a different build.

I'm not kidding by the way. I've actually seen extremely heated arguments flare up over such minuscule differences as that.

I kinda suspect that when ZOS will be making CP rebalance, they will raise the cap to 1000 CP, but nerf the passives's values so it will be pretty much the same as it is now, but will require more Champion Points...

I know there was talk about maybe doing something with it because the devs weren't really happy with where it is either, but I don't know if it ever left the maybe do something stage. It's not exactly high ranking on the priority list.

Why does there need to be? There are caps in practically every game and sliding the CP cap by +30 every DLC is just a gatekeeper to new players. The grind to CP 810 is already extremely long. If you did 1 CP level a day it would take you over two years still. 2 a day is still a year and some change. Factor that in with the fact that most people cannot play every single day for years straight and the grind is already long.

Hopefully never, unless its in concert with a complete rework of the levelling system.

Power creep is one of the main issues with ESO and how broken and/or redundant various aspects now are.

Let's be honest here. We've been promised a lot of things.

Whatever they do, does anybody else kind of hope they wipe everyone's CP and don't convert them into the new system?
Reason being, if they just put me at the cap again, there will still be no progression ...

Those are also extremely conservative estimates of how much CP someone can earn,
at least at lower CP levels. Especially the way the game hands out xp scrolls like candy these days. Getting to 160 the same day you hit 50 is entirely doable. It slows down as you get higher, but still.

If they really want to lose half of their playerbase, then that's a great way to do it. That would more than likely make my break from ESO permanent.

didn't they make their promises BEFORE pandemic kinda changed a lot of things? cause you know, we are all STILL in a middle of pandemic, and it affects everything, seeing as so much of the work had to be done remotely and that setup was done in a hurry, so there were a lot of kinks to work out, probably still are.

This is wrong. Everytime they raised the cap, they decreased the amount of xp required to level up so it stays the same amount to reach the cap

I think they're scared to unvail their "plans" as it's sure to make lots of people upset. I have over 1k cp on two accounts and yes its frustrating to see all that unused CP. Lots of pre-planning has been going on in order for this rework to be doable, imo.

I don't think so. The vast majority of players can't log in 7 days a week for months straight and grind 5+ CP levels every day. People also aren't going to only do activities that give lots of XP every time they log in. If a player logged in 3-4 times a week and averaged 4 CP levels every time they logged in, it would still take over a year to hit the cap.

Just cap the CP at 999, and give me a skill point for every 50 cp above that, or a Crown for every cp over 999 and be done with it.

Come on now. Be realistic. At 810CP just by doing the pledges and maybe a few other things you can gain 1CP per day...for lower CP levels it is MUCH faster....but for a casual player, a year is about right...and honestly, there is nothing unreasonable about a game wanting players to stick around a year for the reward of being maxed out. That being said, I have no opinion on raising the CP cap myself....there is no content in the game that I feel underpowered for. I would much rather see the game go classless or have some actual way to access at least select skill lines from other classes, even it if were inefficient to do so(IE adding 20% cost to skills native to other classes, or requiring 1000x the experience needed to level them, etc) ...or maybe see ZOS make some effort to make hybrid builds decent, or any type of other ACTUAL horizontal progression.

They can't just leave it there like that forever. The number "810" gives me anxiety. Not as bad as if it was, say, "831" or some awful odd number, and not as bad as "805" but it is still an awful number. Either drop it to 800 even, raise it to a nice round 1000, or keep going with it as a regular progression.

Ah yes, I seemingly missed the part in the game where all the NPC vampires kill themselves using their own abilities.

Question @OP, and anyone else who's waiting for a CP update: What are your current problems with the system, or what would you like to see change?

My answer: I'm also waiting, but I feel like it generally works currently, and the changes I would like to see would be to vastly improve build diversity and the number of worthwhile stat passives for PvP and PvE. I think the constellation perks could also be buffed to be more substantial or impactful. I think it's hard to improve build diversity, because endgame will have always have an optimized meta

I'm not interested in the CP cap increasing just for the sake of increasing. Just widens the gap and is a bit of a grind (currently at over 1,000 CP, but I think of it as 810)
