Every time they do something like this I wonder what their thought process was, I mean just why?
Or was it an untested, unintended consequence of some other "improvement"...

I don't understand.
I did my writs this morning after the patch, and the containers were at the top of my inventory as "new" items until I was done opening them.
That's how it's always been for me.
What am I missing?

It always annoys me when I have to chase containers throughout my inventory — first it’s new, but now it’s moved to alphabetical, and now there’s the container it contains... Especially with the recent crafting writ QoL improvements, fulling opening and sorting all my rewards is a big reason I still use the add-on (it is a great add-on, and also facilitates grabbing already-made potions (only take care if you make more powerful potions that unfortunately share the name) and provisioning from the bank to fulfill writs).

Not having room can work like it does now, not pulling items out.
That would save me a LOT of time and annoyance!

This would be so nice if ZOS ever added it to base game. They could set it as an option in setting for those who for whatever reason don't want it.
Be safe and have fun

Also let me accept more than 1 of each kind so I can have several, not just one at a time since the turn in, even in Deshaan, is a run from the crafting location. (Don't mention the distance in Grahtwood!

You can craft all the master writs at one time, I don't actually accept a master writ until I'm standing at the writ turn in. Then I accept the writ, turn in the crafted item at that time, accept the next writ, turn in the crafted stuff, rinse/repeat until my inventory is empty.
