Should ESO make an option to turn off Mystery Meat/Mudballs, etc

Give players an option to Turn off PVE interactions with other players (No picking up or even seeing meats, or getting hit with balls, etc)

Circumstances can digress and statistics in constricted venues do create bias so I agree with @idk

Why do you toss a couple of balls instead of just one? If they don't respond back after one they aren't interested. Why toss a second?

Also, I don't care about a random hit now and then. I just ignore it and move on. But a lot of players don't stop there. That is why a toggle would be nice.

I understand the forum population is a small portion of the player base but it is also the most vocal. 109 (now 110) votes over the course of more than a week which means it is far from a hotbed issue by the forum standards. That is for an issue that is truly a significant issue.

However, it seems my comment quoted above has been conveniently edited out is how the poll ignores every possible option outside of a radical change to the momento. Such a biased poll pretty much makes the information invalid by any survey standards.

And again, there have been a couple of very logical suggestions that are far from the extreme suggestion presented in the poll. If Zos were to think there is an issue they are much more likely to go with an idea that far less radical than making the momento virtually useless.

I only quote the specific portion of a post that I am responding to, for clarity.

It doesn't really matter if there was no option in this poll for leave it alone, because posters like yourself can still give their opinion.

It very much matters if the data is to have some value. it is a fundamental aspect of a poll that when it is biased as this one is the data is rendered invalid and useless. By design, it makes it look like everyone wants to change this. Nevertheless, the poll lacks context due to the biased design and as such is painting a false picture. I expect Zos can see right through that.

The very fact that 110 people have selected one of the two choices yet 110 separate players have not commented in favor of change makes this perfectly clear.

The vote says it all for many who replied. They probably don't feel the need to add commentary. That doesn't make their vote any less valid.

If it's just once sometimes people don't notice or think it wasn't intended for them. After the second is when they tend to either join in and get into mudball fights and dance battles or otherwise indicate somehow they don't want to join in. If they don't want to join in, I then leave them alone.

In the same context, it ignores those who did not want to reply yet see any need for any change or had better ideas. That is what makes the poll fundamentally biased and without content to make the data useful.

My comments on this matter are based on standards in polling methodology that come down to how one words a question and the answers that are provided including. Heck, even the statement provided before the "poll" creates bias.

It makes the poll worthless because of extreme bias, not even slight bias. The feedback accompanying the poll is still useful but the poll itself is useless because the bias is too much. There must be a no option. That's pretty basic polling principles.

Good polls have neutral wording, don't ask leading questions, include all major typical responses, and try not to influence the polling through description before the poll is conducted.

ZOS isn't stupid, if any of them actually deigned to take a look at polls on the forums in an effort to establish an idea of what the playerbase wants, they would take one look at a poll that had 2 options, both of which essentially are a yes with no other options to choose from, and probably give an eye roll at most. Forum posts are ultimately just suggestions and I believe this one, without the poll, has given enough pros and cons to allow anyone from the design team to understand the issue. Fixating on the poll or its numbers turns this into a US vs THEM mentality which it is very much not.

I will be the first to admit that this probably affects only a small number of people. But I will stand by the fact that it is an issue, and that it does affect people. And we don't want this game to give people more reasons to quit.

Nothing in their comment suggests that we are allowed a limited number of stressors. They merely noted the insignificance of mudballs vs pretty much everything else.

I don't think someone wanting to get away from the **** show that is 2020, and play ESO without being subjected to a bunch of irritating behavior is insignificant.
