This is the problem. A very good percentage of young/new players will feel the same way and the community will decline, not increase. Game over.

I'm not certain what the "young/new" comment implies. I'm 43, been playing MMORPGS for 15 years straight for entertainment. I have canceled my sub. I plan to keep playing until my time runs out. But being a successful business owner, sometimes the only way to get a companies attention is in their wallet.
If the game get's better, I'll immediately resub and not miss a second of playtime. If not, There are other options. I am hoping this game gets better though as I really see the potential here. But without decent customer support it is hard for anything thing subscription based to thrive.

I am kind of in the same boat as you, I canceled and will check the forums and see if the game gets any better.
New/Young means players new to the game, not age. They are what makes a game succeed or not. The end game players are just not enough to keep a game viable. In fact, they usually play a part in the destruction of the game.
New players must have basically a perfect game to log into and just have fun. This bot thing is a killer. New players will not want to subscribe to a game if it's this bad.

yes lets ignore the impact this has on the actual progression of leveling to level 50 which is what 80% of people will base their first impressions on.
thanks but no thanks. Done with this garbage.
3 week on and not a peep from ZOS or a *** patch.
But that's ok, I guess Craglorn will drown out all the sub cancellations right?

Oh there is... customer puts up a 1 low level item on the guildbank for the money he's owed... gold seller buys said item.... very very simple really... that's how it worked on WoW I've been told.
I hate the bots and I recognize it is a real problem that should be dealt with in the most severe fashion available. But how do people manage to not get a hit on the boss? Ive been in plenty of dungeons, with plenty of bots, Ive never had an issue getting a few hits on it before its done. Im also playing from Australia, the land of lag, and Im 35 years old, its not my reaction time is at its peak anymore. Is everyone else that plays this game that slow, really?
bots probably have a hard time with that bugged final story quest. Funny isnt it? A quest bug that prevents bots from progressing
Access to veteran zones isnt as easy as you make it sound.
If it was, veteran zones would be full of bots, and trust me they arent.
It IS simply done. I've done it myself in Ragnarok online, I was a bot-baning GM and I did my job pretty danm right. You just walk into the dungeon and whisper to the bot "Mr askjdalksdjasdk -typical name of the bots- I'm from the Staff, please answer to me or your account might get baned." "I just saw you killing that boss, I know you are there, please asnwer to me." *keeps talking to him for 5 minutes in different chats*. After 5 minutes of no answer, you ban him and take screenshot for when the bot owner comes to complain to the forums. If you want to avoid people arguing that they were not paying attention to the chat window, you just teleport the player to somewhere else and keep talking to him until you got the proof he's a bot. Done. It's as simple as that. One person could do the job. I could do the job. It's really the easiest thing in the world. ZOS is not taking measures at all.
It was a good that Matt posted something and gave us some idea where you're heading but looking at the issue of player perceptions and why you're getting deluged with "ZOS aren't doing anything" posts:ZOS_JessicaFolsom wrote: »Hey folks,
As Matt mentioned in the recent State of the Game Address, we're actively combating the botters and gold sellers. We've said this before, but it bears repeating: We do bans constantly every day, and are working on other methods along with those bans. We view this as our #1 issue right now and are fully dedicated to it.
