Why aren't GMs doing anything about all the bots in Ondil?

There are seriously 20 bots in there, and I have personally reported them at least 3 times. Why is no action being taken against these people?

Do something please.
*Edit -- Seems ZOS has been going around slaying bots in the dungeons. Awesome to hear! Just hope I get a chance to see it myself!

They get banned, and they make another account and get back to it. Unfortunately it is going to take more work to fix the problem for good. I for one would like to see localization options where say if you try to login to the NA server, abd your IP is not from a known NA ISP, then it tells you that you are not from that region and cannot login. Unless they were to use proxies this would be a big help, but even then the proxies would be easily identifiable, or at least I believe they would.

Seems like its a win/win to ban these bots then. Every bot they ban they get $60 when they buy a new copy. They should just employ me, ill investigate dungeons all day banning bots if they give me $30 a ban

Yes, they got banned, but are magically back in the dungeon, instantly leveled up.

Brilliant deduction. I personally love it when I send a tell to a bot I saw and reported 3 days earlier. Quick turn around on those bans, let me tell you.

This ^ is why the rumor is circulating that Zenimaxis allowing bots from IGN in exchange for positive press.

When they falsely ban us, it takes 20+ hours to even get a response.
But when we report these bots, the ones that are Obviously using cheats (teleport hacks etc) - if they Do disappear, they're back in less than an hour.

How exactly do these people get through the nightmare of customer service at Zenimax to not only reach someone who can overturn a ban, but get one done - after being Obvious in their cheats - in less than an hour?!

Because there aren't any hired. It's classified.

How are those people able to make another account? I mean... is the key they used not worthless as soon as they get banned?

Or is it sooo easy to steal / generate those gaming keys?

I had today so many botter hordes in various dungeons - and it is so darn obvious because they always have weird generic names like "dfsgsd" and most of the time written in small letters...

I report them and report them over and over again but it does apparently not help. And they must use some cheat or whatever... as soon as a mob spawns they act simultaniously and autoamticly .... as if they have a script running...

Does that not catch any attention of the Sys Admins?

I think a lot used hacked accounts and not all are bots but players farming the bosses which isn't cheating or exploiting. Zenimax need to change how these bosses drop loot and give xp. Just remember that a lot are innocent players so be careful who you report.
  • Rhian-Skybladeb16_ESO
well since when do normal player have names like qtredzgdf and zxgdiejh
:-/ I doubt that any serious gamer who really wants to play and not to farm would call himself like that.
If it were some Insider Joke Names like HAL or whatever, ok... but those generic letter salads?

Remember last week, when some of us were unjustly banned?
    What happened on the forums?

If they were hacking accounts, you'd see the same outcry - but from players who had their accounts hacked/stolen.

They are buying the accounts - and rumor has it, they may be getting a discount. ;)

As to reporting innocent players - we can't get them to ban the Guilty players we report, so how is that going to matter?

If I can watch someone Teleport from node to node for 30 minutes, reporting her and recording the whole thing, then sending that with a Support request on the issue - and then see her (Same Name, same appearance, same Account ID) 5 days later......

It is obvious that the Only place our reports are reaching is the Canned Response generator.

It's quite obvious who is botting, and who is just a player farming. We clearly are talking about the obvious botters.

If Zenimax has in-game GMs, it would be useful for them to frequently visit these dungeons. You can find these bots in most dungeons at the boss spawns.

I may be way to pessimistic, but i have seen now 3 patch lists, in none was this bot problem mentioned. even in stated under fixed nor in known issues left to do.
dedicated teso liking/loving players complain about bots here for at least 10 days as far i follow this bot topic.
furthermore i only see 1 green post of by 1k user posts, editing user posts aint count for me, because editing user posts is so pre year 2000 for me (blackening or deleting with left zos stamp will do it for me).
i feel left alone by ZoS.

I think it has become entirely evident that the games supposed support staff for in game issues is entirely fictitious. I genuinely doubt they troubled themselves to hire a staff to police their servers. That is actually quite disheartening to see in a subscription based game. You would expect to see some quality control. As it stands now cheaters, exploiters, and spammers are relatively unmolested, and if you do hear of someone getting banned.

That is typically a automated process. The server detected some behavior that it deemed to be unacceptable. Rather then a support service specialist taking a action to prevent in game harassment, cheating, exploitation, or other various bad acts.

Anyway it doesn't bode well for the game in the long term. If they are angling to go free to play in short order. Then they are going about it in the right way. The thing is people will pay for a service, but the service has to be there. They can't just let anarchy run rampant, because it will chase customers away in droves. If they don't start to nip this problem in the bud. Then repairing the game will be the least of their issues.

I am somewhat torn. I would love for them to fix my broken quests, and to fix all of the server stability issues, but bots are making the game unrewarding in the extreme. I don't even care about the achievements. I don't know what good they are to be honest, or even the loot I end up deleting, or using it up in short order, but I really want the reward of a good hard boss fight at the end of any dungeon I take the time to play through.

That is what the bots are really taking away from the game. What little fun there is to be had. They jam up the dungeons, inflate the economy, and worse they make it harder to enjoy a free flow group dynamic. I am even getting frustrated now, and I just want to grind through most of the solo content first before even turning to things like group content. Farming shouldn't even be a issue for me at this point, but it is making my adventuring less fun, and more terribly tedious.

I dunno even if it have a sense, reporting those bots.
I report them by makin' videos. FRAPS + XviD4PSP (first one capturing video, secont one convert it in same but less weight: 10 sec in FRAPS is about 900-1100mb, after conversation is 50-60mb), both are freeware, simple and dont need any skills. Press F9 to capture video, press F9 to stop recording (autosave in file), open XviD4PSP, open saved video, press Coding. Profit.

Nice way to provocate bots is Scatter Shot in Bow skill line.
You can see it in one of my today videos (made it less than 30 min ago):
    https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6PIwF7j97TRSGhlSzRuREkxWlU

In close combat its hard to prove bots, people can stand that close (not same direction, but still have a chance). But if you replace boss, bots will move after him and then return to bot place (another mine today video, same as prevous, but DK chain and not two, but dozen on them):
    https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6PIwF7j97TRSl9SNmpGMW5DQTQ

Quality isnt great, but cmon, they was 975mb and 1,01gb before converting and 50,7mb and 55,3mb after.

I farm in dungeons because of lots and lots of loot from bosses to improve my crafting skills) I dont really mind about bots, but they may be really annoying.

I'm agree with Dodece. But c'mon, they already got bunch of moneys from us :3 Lots of people in game have Imperial edition (about $100), others are Standart (~ $60), someone bought additional horse from Store (~$15)... $$$

Everyone.....the month is slowly coming to an end. Vote with your feet. I intend to do that, and come back later, when their planned F2P becomes a reality. I honestly think it has been the plan all along. Why start with an F2P model, if you can rob a few months of sub from your players before you go down that path.

It's all business...the integrity of the MMO genre is close to non-existant.

I dont think that this game suits f2p model, it should be like GW2 b2p with some cosmetic store, and option to buy gold from zenimax directly. Maybe then it would be better.
