How many characters do you play ?

    I only have one.
I barely have time for one character, so I can't be bothered with many. Trying to build my all-time favourite build on just this one char. As a result, he ended up being an all-rounder, jack of all trades but master of none. At least he's fun to play with.

Only one. Seriously, you guys - how do you have time to play more than one character on regular bases, let alone eighteen of them? Since eso is 18+ game have to assume you work for living + take care of other life related stuff (shoping, cleaning, cooking, laundry ...) yourself and likely have families, SO, or a pet on top of it all. Is it time magic? Don't you sleep? :D

I have several characters but only play a few of them on a regular basis.
Rissa Manyclaws (Khajiit, nightblade focus on stamina, dual axes and bow) is my main character, the only one I try to do everything with. She's particularly good at stealth and is my workhorse when valuable items (like soul gems) need to be stolen.

    My leading secondary characters are:
Indrasa Avani (Dunmer, nightblade focus on stamina, dual daggers and bow)
Shuns-the-Knife (Argonian, nightblade focus on stamina, dual maces, mace-and-shield, bow, and mudballs)
Claret Vinecroft (Bosmer, nightblade focus on stamina, dual axes and bow)

    Tertiary characters:
Brendalyn Jurarde (Breton, sorceror, dual and staves)
Pepper Morkul (Orc, Dragonknight, two-hand and bow)
Cognac Vinecroft (Bosmer, nightblade focus on stamina, dual axes and bow)
Cognac Vinecroft did a stint as The Mudball Goblin, but he has retired and given the title to Shuns-the-Knife, who likes mud better than Cognac does. There is always, eventually, return fire.

    Joke Characters
Alikesha Ubded (Redguard, fat, mean, any weapon she can get her hands on). Her armor looks like underwear, but you probably shouldn't tell her so.
...and a few others, but I'm tired of typing for now.

"Argonians have fat, scaly tails." —Rissa Manyclaws.
"Once upon a time there were three sisters: Delicious, Delightful, and Disgusting. Now, Delicious and Delightful were both very pretty girls..." —Brendalyn Jurarde.
"I smell to the nobility." —Indrasa Avani.
"A bargain with an animal is not a contract made." —Haderus Atrimus.
"Redguard makeup for sale. Free samples. Secret ingredients. Unique application method. Lots of satisfied customers." —The Mudball Goblin (aka, Cognac Vinecroft)
"Your armor looks like underwear." —Shuns-the-Knife.

I'm married and have three kids - 13, 6, 3 YO boys. I work a full-time job, from 6:30 AM Eastern to 3:30 PM Eastern, Monday through Friday. We have a cat, Emma The Cat, that's about 2 YO. My wife gets home around 5:30 Eastern, and we fix dinner, we entertain the kids, we help with homework, we wind them down, and then we log into ESO. This happens at around 8 PM Eastern.

I spend the next two hours on ESO doing one of three things; Farming for two hours in Crag, Farming for two hours in IC/Cyro/BGs, or farming xmute crystals/keys.

If I'm farming xmute crystals/keys, then I typically run a normal random dungeon on 5 characters (2 tanks, 3 healers), then do the non-DLC HMs with three fake heals. I rarely wait in queue more than two minutes, and - provided the bosses aren't bugged - we're looking at 15-20 minute clears for each run.

Basically, time management - that's how you play multiple characters.

I'm almost maxed out, but only play a few favorites regularly. I just really enjoy making new characters 😂 Playing around with different classes and builds is fun too when I want a break from my main. And I like replaying the story content.

I play every single one during Jubilee though to farm writs!

Sleep? Not very well, no. To be a bit too honest, I've struggled with lots of demons in my life, various addictions, periods of depression, yadda-yadda. I find MMOs to be the best way to keep me out of trouble, so I'll often multi-task by having game on in the background while I do things like cook and clean, because that's healthier than downing a bottle of vodka while I cook or poping painkillers while I clean.

I have 14 characters now and regularly play 5 of them at a time, depending on which I'm liking at the time. It would be a vary rare night where I would log onto a character and stay on that one character. I do break my time up quite consistently between PvP, PVE arenas & questing the new content all of which

I have several characters but only play a few of them on a regular basis.
I have 11 on one account and 6 on a second account.

I only play a handful at a time, but I will get back to each of them eventually. One was built specifically to do TG/DB, so I imagine that one will come out at least once a year for the event. I have most of the "more viable" class+role combinations (so like, no DK healer), and I have periods of wanting to do different things. For a while, I was playing a lot of my magDK. Lately, it's been a lot of Warden tank. This weekend, I took my NB healer to 50 and created a new magcro which got to 38, because double xp. I put together a new magsorc (4th character) build, so I think I may be back to that for a bit. My first character (magplar healer) is my "main", so when the new Markarth story came out, it was mostly that for a week or so. My Necro tank is a lot of fun, but it's been so long since I played it that she's still a vampire.

I used to do writs on them all every day, but now I...don't have to? Maybe one day I will need gold again. Kinda realized that around the time most of them had capped horse training.
    Army of me:
CP810+: Breton Templar healer, Redguard stamina Warden, Imperial DK tank, Altmer magicka Sorceror, Orc stamina Sorceror/werewolf, Nord Necromancer tank, Khajit TG/DB Nightblade, Bosmer stamina Necromancer, Argonian Warden healer, Dunmer magicka DK, Nord Nightblade tank
Second account, CP400+: Breton magicka Warden, Nord Nightblade healer/solo vampire, Bosmer stamina Templar/werewolf, Dunmer magicka Necromancer, Orc stamina DK, Argonian Warden tank

I have a main, on which I focus most achievement earning and story progression on, and I have a crafter, to which I teach my motifs to and furniture plans. Those are my regulars. Beyond that I have 16 alts, each a different role. I work my way through them, leveling their skills, but also run events on them to increase my rewards. To keep things interesting, I earn the associated achievements for that event as I work through the back bench, and for that I need individual achievements.

12 so I can explore different classes and also to work around the brain dead mess with rapids and riding skills by just leaving characters parked crafting/riding lessons and also to use them as chests given the overly limited storage options in the game (although that one has improved a lot this release).

It varies - sometimes I'll being crafting on them all, and running them all through random normals to harvest transmutes, but right now I've mostly been just questing on the main so I can finish the remaining bits of DLC before my ESO+ expires, as I've got no intention of renewing it for now, when it looks like the game needs a 3 month holiday whilst they debug the showstoppers.

I have one character that I play all these 6 years, and one crafter. Back in 2014, I thought there were not enough skill points, so I made a separate crafter character. But eventually it turned out that wasn't necessary.

I guess, there you have your answer - about 85% having several and playing them at least once in a while. I'm actually surprised that not that many are using them as additional storage - guess, ESO+ is common among players then.

I've played jack of all trades all the time and from my perspective this is more interesting to play than having an elite character. I'm getting bored easily, whenever I get overpowered, not enjoying it at all. Jack of all trades avoids this trap.

I have 10 characters, but I play through quests only on one. I use others for writs mostly. I made them for rp sessions with my guildies but I haven't had time for that in over a year. Recently thanks to Witches Festival and Explorer's Celebration I finally levelled few of them to level 50 (some were stuck for a year around level 35). I still have three more around level 46-48.

I have several characters but only play a few of them on a regular basis.
    9 toons
    1.Main bow/bow 99% PVE completion. Fun build.
2.Healer, mostly for pledges, dungeons, trials
3.Thief/Assassin for thieving, parked off in Outlaws refuge to reduce bounty until next log in.

    Daily writs on all toons
7 out of 9 are CP810 - the last 2 are almost there.

    Main and Healer are crafters.
The rest are at varying crafting levels to get mats at lower levels and are mostly mules.

One holds trophy items and sellable pieces like theodolite, swamp jelly, ginger kitten pieces, maps.
Another holds about 190 style pages
    Another holds pvp equipment
    Another holds master writs
The next 2 hold bits of various set items I'm interested in trying and am in process of collecting.

But I definately play 3 toons.

I play my main almost daily, other five characters from time to time and I also have a couple of mules.
If game is playable during the Undaunted Celebration I may play the tank and the healers a bit more and during XP events I usually level my sub-50 chars.

11 characters from which I regularly play 5 (the rest are below lvl 50). As a comment for the account wide achievements: Only my stam-dd (main) does actual questing in an organised manner and tries to complete all of the zone and story stuff, but my healer currently has completed more dungeon achievements and my pvp alt has more pvp achievements, which slightly bugs me. On the other hand I think character specific achievements encourage me to learn to play my main better to complete same content with her as I have with the healer or the pvp character. :)

FYI, I have 18 characters, and am bursting with ideas for more.

Folk may be interested to see this rather large sample of how many characters the forum going player base actually have statistically... hint... A LOT... hence the overwhelming need for more character slots, Zos, 18 is clearly and unequivocally not enough.

I'm an altoholic, I have several characters and play them all.
I don't think I'm an "altaholic." Just that, like most of the people in my guild, I have multiple characters which I play pretty frequently. In more detail, Ive got one of each class, a specialised thief and 3 pure storage toons. The storage toons don't do much, but all of the others craft (daily writs), pvp (tier 1/3) and pve (RNDs and pledges when I feel like it / need keys). Which gets played for what varies of course, depending on what I feel like, what's going on - and what Zeni's doing to us this week.

But the last couple of weeks for instance, I'm doing quite a bit of solo pve on my magdk (craglorn), group pve + thieves guild on my magblade (he's still levelling undaunted) and cyro pvp on my stamblade (if only because zeni has nerfed pugs into oblivion). In addition, the necro (still a lowbie) is doing guild baby pvp sessions and an RND every day, while the templar usually knocks out a quick RND for the transmutes and ploughs through a few delves afterwards for the hell of it (want some more skill points to put into crafting. hirelings). The warden (my main tank) tends to only get pulled out when the guild needs a tank for pledges and for guild pvp runs. Ironically, the magsorc (my "main") doesn't see much play beyond crafting, trading and housing - sort of retired now.

Quite honestly, once the necro is levelled up, I'm not going to level another toon. Partly I'm at the point that I have more than I can feasibly play. Partly, it's starting to feel painful levelling alts. While I love that cp is account wide, and can handle levelling undaunted and mages guild, I loath the main quest with a passion (but always end up doing it for the skill points) and find the whole horse mini game just ridiculous.

Started with one, became an altoholic, spent 2 years getting gear for all of them, got sick of it and only played main for 18 months, with Markarth and the QoL set collections I actually started to play most of them again and giving them all updated gear since crafting is a bliss now.
