    And to directly quote/dissect it;
After that first incremental, there will be no new patches until after Stadia launches on June 16 – we need some time to get it ready and go through the Stadia certification process. We are scheduling the second incremental patch (6.0.7) for June 29, and moving forward, subsequent incremental patches will occur every other week.

For clarification, the hotfix doesn't count as a patch. The last official patching was on November 2, 2020. Which November 16, 2020 is exactly two weeks later, thus following the trend that people are pointing out.

I've went ahead and cancelled my ESO+. I hear Guild Wars 2 is releasing an expansion soon.

I tried to give feedback on PTS a few times in the past. I couldn't understand why they would ignore their volunteer testers. These are people that are literally wasting their time to make the live version of the game better for all. Nothing you do on PTS matters. The only benefit you get is that you get to preview things a little bit.

For me, if they aren't going to acknowledge or act on any feedback I give, then why should I spend my time on PTS at all?

    Thank you!

Kind of a bummer for you guys, eh? Welcome to console world? :D

(in seriousness, we console players would like some information on whether or not these really game breaking issues like characters falling through the world will or will not be in the console release @ZOS_GinaBruno - maybe it is a bit too early to make that call but when the time comes to release the patch notes for console it would be really awesome to see some words in there about whether or not these fixes are incorporated for us)

If they have a fix, they have to fix this RIGHT NOW!

Why do you fix crown things in light speed but when we need a fix for game functions we have to wait 2 weeks?

This happened before with gape closer abilities and is happening again. Until WHEN?

We deserve respect. That's money in real life!

    Until she says otherwise, I'd probably brace for it just in case. If you're devoted to still playing, I'd really recommend the following;
    • Overland stickerbook gear set farming.
    • Clearing out your bank of the sets you're not likely to use in the immediate future, but held onto. (Decon if you need the mats, sell if you need the gold).
    • If you're managing any guild banks, that's another thing to sort through and clear out the space for.

Sadly, there's not a lot we can do with the LA bug and the falling through the world, to even mythic leads being bugged when you're going at a second go for the codex entries. Note; Most antiquities will still work fine, but Ring of the Pale Order's leads seem especially bugged when trying to open those entries after the first completion.

Other things would probably be PvP for transmute gems to fill that up. Aside from that though, I've really not been able to do or play much because things are weirdly broken. One of my characters had their soul trap reverted to the base ability. I'm counting my blessings that I cured one of my stam toons from werewolf, so I had a sigh of relief there. A lot of us are struggling really hard and I sincerely hope (I truly do) that these bugs don't make it to console because if they do? :#

Good luck. That's all I can say.

People the solution is easy. If you don't like bugged combat with delayed skills and light attacks just cancel eso+ and stop playing until they fix it.

As long as you keep playing and throwing money at them nothing will change.

I for my part installed GW2 and play that until combat works again. Come on I am sure you also have other games or things to do?

Add me, my GW2 necro's name is Scythius Lastgasp

As far as the crown store being fixed first... well yea... of course that was going to happen - regardless of the state of the game the company needs to be able to generate revenue, especially if you want them to keep making content and paying devs to fix bugs.

Regarding the fixes on hold for 10 more days as a result of the new patching cycle, so what? They obviously informed you ahead of time, and 2 weeks isn't really that much time between patches in any context regardless of what content just released or what needs fixing. Not trying to say the bugs aren't a real and major issue, just saying that this delay wasn't a shock to anyone.

Maybe the Crown Store issue was a separate server they could tinker with and fix without having to drop the main servers for maintenance, wouldn't there have been more of an uproar if the whole game was down for that day instead?

Maybe the fixes for the bugs need additional platform testing to ensure all platforms receive a compatible fix.

As an end user going off of just what scraps of information are provided, yes it is frustrating. As someone with a development background however I also understand the need to adhere to a patch schedule - two weeks isn't much time to ensure multiple fixes work on varied platforms, they don't break anything else, and get everything through cert.

I, personally, don't have that much problem with bi-weekly fixes. If only they actually fixed something, because, IIRC, fixes for Greymoor were pretty insubstantial and many major bugs were fixed only on release of the dungeon DLC.

As for the current fixes, fix for reset ultimates should get to consoles:
As for any missing skill points, these will automatically be added back to your account during maintenance on the 16th, whether it's a single skill point or multiples. For anyone lurking in this thread that plays on console, this should not be an issue when Update 28 launches for you.

IIRC, it took them months to fix Greymoor quests, what do you expect? I cannot fully express what I think about how they handle bugs, because I'd get banned.
I mean, I know that resources are limited, but quality isn't declining anymore, it's hecking plunging.

And yes, say "thanks" to Stadia.

The above bolded phrase: are resources really limited? Why? I find it pretty hard to believe that cash flow and margins for ESO don't cover some employee time to fix stuff. Are there not enough employees? HIRE SOME MORE!

We know you got the money.

    Or try to do less.

If they current capacity can't keep up with 4 big releases a year, scale down until you can.

I was really excited for Markhat and the new arena. But I tried it a couple of times and gave up because the game feels awful to play now.

Are you out of your mind? What is the schedule? This is not a regular maintenance, you have continuous bugs in the update, crashes from the game, non-working abilities that require immediate fixing.

Are you suggesting to wait a couple of weeks and look among your characters for those who are lucky enough not to be bugged, instead of fixing the broken?

Is this a way out of the situation? And what if scheduled maintenance was in six months? Would you suggest to wait too?

You have your next service on Monday. The fact that you are scheduled to service the new patch on November 16 means that the patch is normal and there are no problems with it.

It looks like it's worth giving up the game for a month or two. The fact that you so quickly fixed the moments with the non-working Crown Store (in the first place) showed everything.
Money is more important than reputation.

it's very painfully obvious that thi patch was rushed out way before it was ready.

i'm taking a nice vacation from the game. i need to farm enlightenment anyways.

There is no doubt about that.

We know about the pandemic situation and all, and sometimes there IS a business case to launch knownly buggy software, but this patch broke fundamental parts of the game.

In most companies, this would easily justify a delay. Just check Cyberpunk. It is painful, but if something critical to the game is broken, delay it.

What is more worrisome is that this was broken since the first weeks of PTS. It is not something that broke in the last week and they only saw after they applied the patch.

The basic thing about combat was broken for several weeks on PTS.

This means the dev team is struggling. They are stranded for resources.

The solutions are simple: either hire more people or do less. Decrease the scope of the patches, or decrease the amount of patches.

This just can't happen again. It really hurts the game and it is made worse by the 2-week patch cycle now that they need to support Stadia.

I honestly think they have a masterpiece of a game, which is going to waste because they are trying to do waaaaaay too much with the resources they have.

Similar to consoles, Stadia releases probably have to follow a strict vetting process and schedule for patches before they're actually pushed into the live games.

Since the Stadia version of the game shares the same client and even the same megaserver with the PC version of the game, this restriction not only affects the Stadia version of the game, but also the PC version, since updates need to release together to allow Stadia/PC users to continue to play when the other has an update pushed.

Zenimax's patching system and server architecture isn't robust enough to spin up instances on different versions to allow users on multiple versions to continue to play.

GW2 has this, clients display a notification when a new patch is released which warns the user that a new version is available to download, and the servers will continue to allow users on older versions to play for a brief period of time, until users either log out and download the update or instances are forcefully closed, at which point the user can download the update, and jump right into the game the moment it's finished. The servers themselves never actually go down, it's the instances that do.

If Zenimax were able to do this, we'd know because they'd have used it to streamline the patching process, but they haven't, and so it's safe to assume they're unable to do this. If they were able to do this, Stadia and PC users could remain in their own instances when an update is pushed for one platform, until the accompanying update for the other platform is pushed.

Since they can't do that, they've elected to move PC to a fortnightly patching schedule, probably to get it better in line with Stadia's schedule.

Yea but this gamebreaking bugs were reported during PTS. Reported multiple times....

Even alcast complained in a video when he tested it on PTS and they still released it like this...
