But does this mean I've lost forever the Skill Point that I'd previously expended to morph it?

Probably returned with the patch as its pretty easy to see how many skill points you should have.karthrag_inak wrote: »So what will be done about lost skill points?

Game need to keep track of all the skyshards and quests who give them so you don't get double so simply recalculate this correct it.

I hope they don't simply compare the number of our Skill Points before the update with our current number, because yesterday I gained 1 SP from doing a dungeon I'd never done before.

So, what am I expected to do? Not play with that skill until they get around to fixing it?
Splitting soul trap is a reasonably low cost AoE+DoT skill I use a lot to draw and hold aggro of large groups, a "soft group taunt" of sorts. The unmorphed version does nothing to assist with that.
I have a couple of skill points to spare, so I'm re-morphing to play the characters that were affected without impediment while they work on a fix. They took that skill point with the bug, and it's their responsibility to give it back. They can't reasonably expect everyone to read the forum post and follow that advice.
This, it might have to wait until next update to get it back.SeaGtGruff wrote: »Probably returned with the patch as its pretty easy to see how many skill points you should have.karthrag_inak wrote: »So what will be done about lost skill points?

There is a way to see how many you’ve earned total, in real time. (We can do this ourselves with add-ons, so they definitely have access to that number on their end.) By comparing that number you have earned in the moment (not from when the patch dropped) to the number showing as invested + available on your toon, they can figure out how many you’re owed without having to rely on outdated info.
So long as they do clean them up and not leave us with permanently gimped characters, I can live with that... day 1 bugfests seem to be the norm in most games nowadays. What concerns me is the possibility of those points being lost forever - that'd be preposterous. They have release deadlines to meet and a history of cleaning up major issues after the fact.

I have not morphed it again until the fix was out but the original skill point that was lost from having it forcibly unmorphed was still not added back.
Another skill point was also missing from before (way before...), when public dungeon achievements bugged out sometimes and did not award them.
If I add up all of my earned skill points, I get 418 but I only have 416 to spend. It's a little bit annoying.
