Something needs to be done. Took a break and haven't played for awhile and now the good guild I had found booted me.
That's what's going to happen everytime you take a break.
It's stupid we don't have an auction house.

Any type of guild that has good leadership will boot a rank-and-file player that quits the game for a period of time. It is simply a matter of asking them for an invite back. I took a break a few years ago, got booted from my guilds, Called out in zone for an invite back to my trade guild, and got back in a few moments later. It really is that simple.

So because you decided to take a break, the good guild should hold your space forever, and deny the guild the benefit of having someone actively playing as a member. That is stupid.

Nothing is preventing you from asking for an invite to your old guild. Nothing is preventing you from finding a new guild. By the way, in every guild I've been a part of since early access, if you have a reason for being away from the game for an extended period [aside from "I'm bored/burned out/don't feel like playing"] and tell the gm, your spot is held. Deployment, vacation without internet, family issues, whatever doesn't mean you are automatically kicked.

    Auction House?

There are economic advantages to the current system, it feels more natural, and promotes social interaction (just like the lack of an inspect feature).

    Economic advantages? Name one

    Keeps inflation in check.

Makes it harder for people to race to the bottom on prices.

Makes item searches faster by limiting the amount of goods at a vendor.

    -Non economic advantages.

    Promotes guilds.

    Promotes social interaction within guilds.

    RP friendly.

Prevents players like myself from effectively cornering the market of high interest items by removing an easy "buy all at one stop" shop option.

Allow for those with time and a moderate income to bargain sale various vendors then resale at a higher price.

@Tallynn - there have been many threads about a GAH in this game. The bottom line seems to be that ZOS will cling to their version of trading without one until hell freezes over.

On the other hand, gold is pretty easy to make in this game (unlike WoW and RIFT) so you won't have to be broke forever. Of course that depends as well on your platform and server - if you're on PC NA, stuff is relatively affordable on the traders; if on consoles/EU, not so much.

I find it much easier to make gold in wow than ESO.

Before I figured out the GAH in wow, it was really painful - not much gold. But that was more than a decade ago so things might be different now.

I have played wow every year since launch. I have played ESO since I think 2016. At no point in my ESO time has gold every been easier to make than in wow. Even vanilla wow was easier to make gold and all I did was PVP which does not make you gold.

I much prefer wow's system for making gold than ESO.

How easy does it really need to be? I can make a million gold coin in a day just about any time I want. Just selling stuff I find while doing what I like to do in the game I normally hit over 100k gold a week. I'm in a trade guild that has a 3,000 gold donation requirement a week.

Wow!!! See, I have been playing for a few years and I am lucky if I have more than 200k between bank and pocket. The unguilded are left hanging.

I was in a top trading guild for a long time. It dissolved as the officers found real life was getting in the way of properly running the guild. On an aside the amount of time guild leaders put into a successful trading guild is amazing. Back to the topic I decided to take a break from trading for a while when that guild dissolved.
When I decided I wanted to trade again it took me maybe 15 minutes of searching for a trade guild and applying. I was in the next morning. If the trade guilds were all full with players waiting for an open spot I would see the need for something to happen. More traders available would be my preferred fix. As I see what I know are top trading guilds advertising for new members all the time I don't think there is a problem inside the game. I understand people not wanting to join guilds but that doesn't mean there is a problem with how the game works.

I just came back from an unintended break to find my Guild kicked me (Absolutely my fault, no hard feelings) So, I decided to search for new guild, I used the guild finder, scrolled through a few until I f found one with a kiosk that I felt fit my play style and put in an application, with in 5 mins they approved it and I was on my way to selling again. The whole process from the time I opened the guild finder to the time I posted my first listing was less than 20 min.

Trading guilds are out there, you just got to look.

And as for finding items to but TTC is invaluable, if you're not using it, you should be.
