Per the first screenshot, my character is a level 22 Magicka Nightblade with bound CP160 Marksman Jewelry in inventory.
However, after the set item load, the Marksman Jewelry only displayed level 22 in the "sticker book" UI.
Oooh that isn't good. If you move that item to a max level character, does it get re-added to the book as CP160? A lot of people store spare max level bound gear on unleveled alts!
The level of the item showing in the collection is not relevant when it comes to reconstruction.
When you reconstruct an item the system uses the level of the character doing the reconstruction to set the level of the item produced (you can't change it). A cp160 character can only reconstruct cp160 gear, same as they can only loot cp160 gear.
Low level characters are most likely going to have to reconstruct the items for themselves to get it at a level they can use. This makes the traits they (don't) know and the amount of a tempers they need to use a bit of a pain point.
Do you like the current Categories and Sub-Categories, and how the Item Sets are arranged in those categories?
Did the ordering make sense?
Is it easy to find a particular Item Set?
Do you like the iconography and location within the Collections menu?
Do the progress bars give you a sense of progression within the system?
Do you like the size and layout of the stickers of each individual item?
Was it easy to create a Reconstructed item in the trait and quality you wanted?
Did you clearly understand the costs you were paying to Reconstruct an item?
How did it feel to reconstruct an entire 5-piece Item Set?
Thanks. Now I don't have to dread playing my low level alt in a dungeon that drops a piece of gear I've been farming for on my max level character because the low level alt might get the piece I want.Do you have any other general feedback?
First of all, I have to say that this is the best Quality of Life improvement in ESO for some time. Several of us at UESP are incredibly grateful to the UI team for implementing this idea (Pylawn says he wants to know whose idea it was so he can buy them a beer!). Please take my comments in the spirit of constructive criticism rather than complaining.
Sticker Book Arrangement
- Do you like the current Categories and Sub-Categories, and how the Item Sets are arranged in those categories?
I'm sorry, but I don't. Listing the sets in terms of Alliance + Zone assumes that you already know where a set comes from. I actually use an addon on Live right now to tell me this information because I can never remember it! (And, y'know, I work for UESP.)
It would be so much more sensible to list them instead as "Light Armor", "Medium Armor", "Heavy Armor" and then have them subdivided by Alliance. Or just have a massive A-Z list like the sets in the Dungeons category.- Did the ordering make sense?
Erm... In that the Zones within each Alliance are in story order, yes. It's confusing not to refer to "Overland" sets with that title, though. And what on earth are Coldharbour and Craglorn doing under "Miscellaneous"? I actually saw another player on the forum who thought that Coldharbour was missing.- Is it easy to find a particular Item Set?
Once I can remember where it comes from, sure. Before that point, really, no.
I can see how you probably tossed around various methods for categorising the item sets before settling on this one. You probably thought "ooh, players who are in the Alik'r Desert right now would like to know what sets they can get". And this ordering makes sense if people are going to use the tool in that way. I'm much more of an end-game player with the "ooh, Hollowfang is a cool set, where do I need to go to farm that?" mentality. So this ordering doesn't work for me, and will ensure that I continue to require an addon or wiki to look things up in.
Sticker Book Aesthetics
- Do you like the iconography and location within the Collections menu?
I'm so sorry, I have another problem.
See the area that I have highlighted in pink? Apparently I have collected a Ring of Night Terror. I CANNOT SEE that I have collected a ring because it barely looks any different in "colour" than it does greyed-out.
I much much prefer the lovely blue background that is present around the Breeches. Now, that blue background is supposed to be alerting me to a NEW! item in my sticker book. But I would very much like it if that blue background could be applied to all collected items, and a different colour (e.g. bright orange or pink?) chosen to highlight the NEW! items. I would find it much easier to tell which items I have collected in this way.- Do the progress bars give you a sense of progression within the system?
Yes. I especially like adding more items to the set and watching the Transmute Crystal cost come down.- Do you like the size and layout of the stickers of each individual item?
They are acceptable.
Reconstruction
- Was it easy to create a Reconstructed item in the trait and quality you wanted?
Yes.
One important point: The system only allows you to create Robes in Light Armor. I myself often prefer the look of the Jerkin. Is there some way to allow reconstruction of Jerkins?- Did you clearly understand the costs you were paying to Reconstruct an item?
Yes.- How did it feel to reconstruct an entire 5-piece Item Set?
I didn't actually reconstruct an entire item set due to only having 12 Transmute Crystals, but I know it will be particularly awesome to make things like Perfected Arena staves in the trait you want.
Do you have any other general feedback?
I estimate that using this new system I will be able to free up:
- 202 inventory slots across 5 characters
- 51 slots across 8 storage chests/coffers
- 120 slots from my bank.
Total: 373
and that's a conservative estimate...

In my experiments, deconstructing gear did add it to the item collections. However, this might be something that needs fixing since the "added to your collections" message did not show when they were added this way, so I can see why people would be confused about this - it seems to be hidden by the normal crafting interface; deconstructing multiple items at once and then immediately exiting the crafting station would still show the messages for maybe just a few of them at the end. Looking at the sets in the collection did highlight the newly added deconstructed ones with a ! icon to show that they were new, though. Please save everyone some time and make adding of items to the sticker book happen upon deconstruction in addition to equipping and the items.
Most of us will be destroying equipment we do not intend to use frequently and this will just save processing power and time from all those equip and unequip commands.
Whether it's an additional category on the left (in which case some sets could appear in multiple categories), or some other kind of search filter, I don't know. In particular it would be nice to have Arena Weapons as something akin to a top level category (and include Asylum Sanctorium in this even though it's a "trial"), and then the different weapon types (ie. Two Handed) as subcategories underneath it, so I can easily browse through them and see what my options are for that particular weapon type. Possibly even have "Two Handed" and "Two Handed (Perfected)" as separate subcategories, though I'm not sure about that one (could be nice to have them separated for "less clutter"; but say you've collected a perfected version of one and only non-perfected of another it could be useful to show them together so you know what you have available to you at that exact moment...)It would nice to be able to search for all Mask Sets and Arena Weapon Sets in particular though.
I didn't check the others, but I had already noticed that, at least for Ward of Cyrodiil, bows and staves were not listed in the stickerbook. As mentioned in the Notes when 6.1.5. went live.General
The following set weapons will no longer drop as bows or staves:
Aegis Caller
Curse of Doylemish
Viper's Sting
Ward of Cyrodiil
On the actual PTS all these weapons are included in the collection. But we can't collect them anymore, unless we've been lucky and kept them. Could you fix this pls?
(I never got the point why they've been removed btw)
Yes that is impressive, assumed we needed to equip gear then I read about this.In my experiments, deconstructing gear did add it to the item collections. Also I noticed that selling gear to an NPC vendor also worked, but only after I'd sold enough other items to push the set item out of the buy-back history - that was really well implemented, well done
This is genius and I love it.Elvenheart wrote: »[*] Do you like the iconography and location within the Collections menu?

You know, based on what you said it would be nice if the uncollected look was like it is now, greyed out with a black background, and the collected look showed the item not greyed out with a background color of the minimum level it can be reconstructed, green, blue, purple, etc. That way it would be easy to see at a glance what items in that set are uncollected. And maybe instead of a background color to denote NEW! Items, use a bold square outline around that item.
I like this idea too.For the most part I thought the set categorisation by zone/dungeon/etc was easy to understand, but I do agree with this:Whether it's an additional category on the left (in which case some sets could appear in multiple categories), or some other kind of search filter, I don't know. In particular it would be nice to have Arena Weapons as something akin to a top level category (and include Asylum Sanctorium in this even though it's a "trial"), and then the different weapon types (ie. It did seem slightly weird having all the base game dungeons lumped together in one category, but then the base game zones (almost the same number! Each of the zones has one of the dungeons, except for the starter zones & Craglorn) broken up into three categories by alliance... with the starter zones, Coldharbour & Craglorn hidden right down at the end. I would suggest either
- combine all the zones into the one top level category, the way dungeons are done (my preferred option), or if there are UI concerns about that list being too long then
- at the very least have a 4th zone category ("Misc Zones"?) that's placed directly underneath the 3 alliance ones that has starter zones, Coldharbour & Craglorn in it, so it's clear where to find it. Leave Mythics at the end, obviously, because that's a whole other thing, though I guess you could rename the left over "Miscellaneous -> Antiquities" subcategory that's now left on its own to "Antiquities -> Mythic Items" if that might help to make things clearer, too.
I seen someone on PTS reconstructing item and the cost for gold item was 20 tempering alloy. Is this cost goes down the more items of this set you have (similar to reduce of transmute crystols cost) or is this a fixed value?

Sticker Book Arrangement

I actually would have like an alphabetic list of sets, with source (zone/dungeon/...) as filter
Is it easy to find a particular Item Set?
yes
Sticker Book Aesthetics

the contrast between things you have and things you are missing is not very high, which makes it difficult to easily and clearly see what you have at a glance (but I do like the checkbox)
Reconstruction
Do you have any other general feedback?
I was able to select perfected trials gear on a lowbie toon (lvl 25) to reconstruct.
Monster sets and arena weapons were locked and showed CP160 as a level, but trials sets and dungeon gear was possible.
Not sure, if that is intended.
Do you have any other general feedback?
I'm missing a filter to see collected vs. sets with missing items
And maybe an option to collapse all, so you can just see the bars, for a better overview.
My concern is the relationship with Perfected / Non-Perfected. I've seen screenshots now and can see they are treated as two different sets. I don't have the bandwidth to download the PTS, so I thought I'd chime in here for feedback on the screenshot, if anybody could test this, that'd be great.
Does unlocking a Perfected item, also unlock the Non-Perfected item? As somebody that runs a fair bit of vet content, I'm not all to interested in farming the inferior version simply to unlock it in my book. The ideal situation would be that it is just one set, and finding a Perfect version would override the Non-Perfected version, and that Perfected/Non-Perfected are compatible with one another but do not provide the Perfected bonus unless 5 Perfected pieces are made. If that is too difficult, the other solution would be to have if a Perfect is found, the Non-Perfect is also unlocked, similar to how if you run a Vet Dungeon, you also get the Normal achievement.

As for above, regarding the level 22 item.
They should just remove the level all together from the collection book. Have it so that whatever character reconstructs it, it arrives on that level. Alts, for them to use this system would need to prioritise researching on the traits they want rather than whatever is present. IE prioritise Divines. The first tier research trait is really quick, and with scrolls so is the first 3 really. Might sound mean to put a little burden on alts, but its better than risking your end game characters being stuck with only having access to level 22 gear.
I'd be fine with this not being accessible to any character under CP160, treated as an unlock. Logic being, it is for the purposes of long term collection to recall after a ZOS patch nerfs your gear, or you want to experiment. Low characters aren't really about that, it would really only serve low characters to own BGs against other low level players that aren't kitted out.
I've decided to download the PTS to try this out, my nets going to hurt the rest of the day.

What's the deal with uniquely named set items, e.g. something like the Grievous Leeching Ward quest reward or the unique drop 'Warden's Courage.' Both are from ICP and are part of the Leeching Plate set.
Do they correctly unlock the sticker for Leeching Plate shield/sword? Or do you need to get a random drop of a generic Shield of Leeching to unlock that sticker?
I know there are a lot of dungeons (especially base) with unique set pieces, and many of the base quests have named set piece rewards...
For us underling console players can anyone show what the system will be like using a controller and giving feedback for it since we don’t get a PTS. It’s easy to read how a skill change works or minor/major system change and do a thought experiment and have reasonable opinion of it.
On the stream we only seen it for like 1-2 seconds and really have no idea what it looks like or able to give any feedback about it. I know we are 2nd class but throw us a bone so we can give feedback also.
Thanks
Please make sure to add an icon next to the items in the inventory if they are already in our collection. Especially on console, where we don't have addons.
Otherwise we have to go back into our collections to double check for the sticker every time we get a new item or are in Guild Traders.
JHartEllis wrote: »I was hyped about this as it was originally talked about with the full refund of input costs--thinking about how that would mean being able to try out different traits and sets without any downside other than upfront costs. With the deconstruction NOT giving back the upgrade mats, this system isn't super useful other than some peace of mind in deconstructing weird gear that will probably never be tried out in the future either. I would strongly recommend increasing the materials given back for deconstructing Reconstructed items.
I would also recommend allowing free or low-cost trait Transmute on Reconstructed items.
This whole system would matter a lot more if gear even mattered all that much. I can slot one passive ability (e.g. Repentance) that gives me 6 sets worth of gear. Gear is overemphasized as an incentive system. I'd recommend boosting 5-piece bonuses across the board by 60-100% or even more.
