How to get rid of gold sellers 2.0

ZOS----How to get rid of goldsellers:
1) Limit the amount of /zone and /yell posts to 2 per minute until you are 15th level. Limit the size of the post to 3 lines.
Keep in mind there is also say, tell, guild chat and other ways to ask for help if a normal player needs it.
How often does a normal person really post /zone or /yell more than 2 times per minute in the game, really?
2) Let there be a /goldseller list like /ignore. Make this list unlimited, but after 2 weeks the name is auto deleted.
3) Let us right click on the name and click gold seller. This puts them on a /goldseller list. This should also auto report them to you, so we don't have to go through the tedious process of reporting them to you every time.
4)Limit mailing to 0 unless they are on your friends or guild list, for the first 15 levels.
5)Let us have a junk mail tab that all mails not from friends or guildmates will go to.
Do this ASAP. Thank you.

Anyone spamming gold sales shall have a level-500 boss spawn on their location in permanent aggro mode, kill the gold seller outright, and relieve them of the full contents of their inventory AND bank.
The same could be done for bots when the system detects anyone in a dungeon who's inactive for over 10 seconds, stands on any node (anywhere) for more than one spawn cycle, or who runs a precise pattern more than once.
There shall be blood and gore!

I like the OPs ideas especially No.3 because at the moment it takes time to click the name/report/fill in report. Perhaps when we report the "player" there is a gold seller option in the report drop down menu that auto sends image of their text in chat.
I recall in some MMO's they had a newbie channel and you had to reach level 10 before you could access the main channel - perhaps ESO could make that level 15?
However I love Abigail's idea and think most players would get a lot of satisfaction seeing a gold seller dealt with in this most appropriate manner!0 -

The original confine players to the starter island til they complete the quest there would have resulted in a huge reduction of gold spamming on the mainland. Now it's just create character, run coldharbour (and do they do that by hacking movement so they can do it fast?), drop onto mainland, spam. More advanced ones might go elsewhere before spamming (maybe grouping with someone, travel to nearest wayshrine, or maybe movement hack first) ?
Gold spam stopping is largely about controlling the ratio between time spent getting to the point you can spam and the time before the spam gets shut down. Reporting and then banning being streamlines is only half of the equation.

Darzil✭✭✭I also believe in banning gold buyers, but they have to do gold spam and farming before they can sell, so we don't know that people are buying.
On the other hand, there will be many non MMO players who aren't used to gold sellers, who might be tempted, as well as many MMO players who use them as a shortcut. If I didn't know how much they can break games (and how much the farmers are breaking my enjoyment of this one), I might be tempted to throw a few dollars at actually having a horse and being able to afford a more reasonable amount of inventory space. As a crafter who likes to craft for others, inventory space is so stupidly limited, and increases are gated behind gold only, so I understand the temptation.1 -

But, that is not a solution to car accidents. That is why there are traffic laws.
I'm trying to put up a system that will help stop or slow down gold seller traffic.
People will always buy gold from gold sellers. Just a fact.

I've been playing MMOs for about 20 years. I'm well aware of the deep rooted problem and I have seen the system I am am talking about work really well in some MMOs.

Of course it was a silly thing to say, it was also the only guaranteed solution. No game has ever gotten rid of gold sellers unless the company sells gold themselves cheap enough not to make it profitable for these people to do so.

Simply not true. DDO did this and gold sellers vanished, until it went F2P a few years later.0 -

The mind bending difficulty in doing this must be the reason they Still haven't done so - considering it would not only Save them the thousands of lost accounts they have been suffereing as people QUIT over the endless stream of gold spam and bot-ed dungeons.
It would also bring in Immediate Funds because a large part of those banned will buy another account to try to continue this activity.
I am encoding some video I took this evening, in about 3 hours I hit most of the dungeons from Stonefall to Shadowfens, and the first in Eastmarch.. 3 hours - and over 150 bots.

While I totally agree from our point of view that is the best solution, I'm not sure they will pay a GM to stand in the game all day just banning gold sellers.
However, I am totally behind that idea if it is feasible.
I was just suggesting a few tools that might tag along with anything else they can do.

A few nights ago I saw someone comment on /zone "Hey, did you know you can buy gold for real money!" It was obvious this was either a very new gamer or perhaps a very young player as they didn't seem to realise buying gold was not a good idea.
So perhaps there should be a "warning" on the website and login page against gold sellers especially the security aspect to get the message through to those who don't realise the pitfalls.

As much as people scream and yell about gold sellers, that player had to know it was a bad idea.
That said, sure a warning couldn't hurt.
