How do you all feel about them adding in an optional way to buy dungeon gear with undaunted keys?

I for one do not want to keep doing the same dungeon over and over to try and get 2 items for a 'just for fun' set idea I had that probably won't be that good.

We can already buy specific monster shoulders from dungeons, why not add in an option that lets us buy random gear pieces from a specific dungeon?

For those that think this would make the game less grindy, that is kind of the point. However, it doesn't remove so much of the grind to where people won't be doing dungeons. It just adds in an extra chance to get that one item you need.

I'd be fine with it being just a random piece from a specific dungeon, however if they wanted to get more in-depth with it you could buy a random piece from a specific dungeon set for a good amount of keys (still with random stats) and stuff. Say if I was looking for a worm cult lightning staff, I could go to that vendor and select crypt of hearts and it'd pull up a tab with all of the sets that drop from it and I'd be able to select one. The item would still be randomized, but for some extra keys I could ensure it'd be from that set.

People literally lose nothing with this change and only gain an incentive to get more keys and do vet HMs. Thoughts?

If you state up front at the start of the dungeon that you're looking for pieces of a set, you'll find that most people will happily dump their excess gear on you at the end.

Only took me 2 runs through the Dungeon Finder to get a full set of Imperium , with plenty of extra options for which pieces to use.

And besides, the undaunted key thing has already got easier... you used to have to run dungeons for a chance at either the helm or the shoulders, in the correct weight with the correct traits. Now you can pretty much just buy the parts you want and transmute the traits. I'm not sure it could get any easier without becoming somewhat pointless.

Overall, players would be running dungeons less (because they are able to get specific gear faster).

Players would be OK with that.

But, ZOS might frown upon it.

Because players are running the “easy” dungeons to accumulate keys to buy gear from the “hard” dungeons ... without even running the content itself.

But, it does take keys that players are hoarding out of circulation.

I wouldn't mind heading toward a token system. Token system are the best.

I'd prefer to see them expand the fragment system that exists in the Imperial City dungeons. Just switch the pieces to be stored in currency, and then after a few runs you get to open a chest with some better drops. Would keep people in dungeons, but give them a bit more back for time invested. Especially in regards to jewelry and weapons.

Having more options to buy gear wouldn't be a bad thing. You can at max get 6 keys a day if you do vet with HM. 3 keys if you just do normals.

If these gear prices had a price over 10-20 keys per drop that'd require a lot of dungeon doing, so I'm not exactly sure how it'd become pointless.

Congratz on it taking you two runs to get what you wanted, I and many others have been farming for specific pieces of sets for weeks. Continuously grinding 1 dungeon for 1 gear piece you need to complete a meh set is pretty bad, especially with no guarantee it'll ever drop. I'm just wanting to make a for-fun build. There should be a way for me to work towards said piece I need without losing my sanity and time.

How I feel about it makes no difference. However, while you are asking I do not see the need as it is significantly easier to get dungeon gear now than it was not that long ago. Some armor pieces, jewelry, and especially weapons have all seen their drop chance increase and we no longer have an 8 in 9 chance the item we wanted is decon worthy because it is the wrong trait.

Thing is, while Zos has improved the chance we get what we want they still want us to run dungeons to get that gear. They have made this very clear being they made it BoP instead of BoE.

Not a fan of rng solutions to rng problems. The only gear pieces that are lengthy farm effort are specific weapons and ZOS has addressed that previously to a degree. Everything else is easy enough to get in a few runs.

well it should be dungeon specific tokens to avoid running 300x same dungeon for an inferno staff or something... but don't think they will encourage that... good luck

Just allow a new currency from a dungeon that when you build enough up through completions you can buy an item from that dungeon. So at least you would have an end point to grinding if you were farming an item.

I would prefer that you could use transmutation stones to unlock an item you can then sell regardless of where it came from.

50 stones to unlock. Get those pvpers running dungeons :)

2pc sets like masters, vma etc not included of course.

If this happened you know they'd be character bound, wouldn't stack and be gold quality, requiring you to type 'DESTROY' (first in lowercase by accident, of course) to be free of them.

Nip nap nup nep... nope. I think its okay to ask group chat for a piece before first pull.. most players including myself are kind enough to share it (if we don't need). And alot of times that could also be a +1/2 on your friend list.

But if it would be like this, 5 keys sound about right.
