Maintenance for the week of April 6:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – April 6

It’s time to raise the CP cap.

It’s been almost a year with no raise in cap or even a mention of what your plan is. Raise it to 900 while you figure it out. Progress keeps players returning. Since you guys love money, let me buy cp increments then.

They just had a post about wanting to reign in vet players who have learned to maximise the games combat, while making lower bracket players stronger. That old raise the floor and lower the ceiling thing. Adding more CP would be counter productive to their design ideas. In the end asking for them to exacerbate power creep just seems like a poor idea, in my opinion.

Raising the CP cap... naive idea. Just imagine the mess with all the 'balance' in both PvP and PvE. And overland is a breeze anyways.

Increasing CP continuously eliminates the player choice of choosing where to allocate it, because you have enough points for everything. 810 CP is already a long enough grind, and increasing it is a pretty shallow gameplay update ... unless there's a rework

And that rework is exactly why they stated there would be a break in cap increases. They've standardized and updated all the skill lines in the game, and like 95%? or more of all the sets, and CP or a CP-replacement system would be like the final step in the combined balance-and-performance pass we've been in for the past year and a half.

I'd imagine a CP rework or replacement would have both combat balance and performance in mind

They should just make all pvp non-cp and balance healing/damage/procs for that ocasion while balancing a cp system for pve

MMOs being treated on a social-equalism "Everyone Is Awesome!" mindset is doomed to fail.

Reward the long-timers or there won't be any eventually.

Or how about making a non-Craglorn (which is boring af) area for CP1000+ players and give newcomers something to look forward to.

I appreciate the new mounts, the new styles, etc. Don't get me wrong. But those of us who have invested so much time...need something to show for it and something to use it with.

A new area, with dolmens the size of towns...tons of new creatures to fight with group or solo--maybe even new npc mechanics devs can experiment on us.

    New Molag side quest, etc.

I blew by 900 CP long ago and I see many players well above 900. CP levels being locked isn't what is making people quit the game.

You get essentially nothing from 90 more cp. Diminishing returns sees to that. There is very little point to raising the cap when they want to redesign/remove the cp system at some point anyway.

I'd like to see them get to that sooner rather than later. They keep changing things, but ignoring what I believe to be a much more important issue than critical strike changes. Any changes they make around the cp system won't matter once cp gets changed anyway.

More cp for me is more QoL upgrades - lower sprint cost and such. Been capped for too long, I hit 1k then just stopped playing for a while cause no point

Have you thought all these changes are BECAUSE of the revised CP system

I think cp should stay at 810 it feels like it’s as balance as it can be right now

Ya, I was about to say....it’s been more like 2 years. Really sad that the progression system has not been addressed in 2 years. So where are all the “cp is to blame for power creep” people? Lol.

Exactly. Clearly not the primary culprit. Does it contribute? Certainly, but nowhere near how much was suggested. CP is front loaded, and the true power is in the red points anyway. Whatever comes in to replace it, I hope it is a worthy replacement and not some across the board nerf dressed up as progression.

Participation trophy paradigm is not a route to success, I agree. Players should be rewarded for learning and mastering the combat system, not punished. What sense does that make?

Using armors drops as the engame metod to "level up" because the cp sistem is broken prevent crafters from having a trade.
As long as cp are like this craftres will never be allowed to craft any decent sets because this will conflict with the current armor drop leveling.

since you hit diminishing returns walls so fast the cap may aswell be removed, 810 or 2k the difference is a little bit more armor that wont help you the least bit or a tiny sprint cost reduction. As to the cp revamp i doubt it will ever see the light of day, they will either just be lazy and remove cp or try to remove it from pvp again and call it a day

There is no need for raising CP cap but they could add some new leveling system though like battle pass people love to be rewarded for grind.

Though there's some truth to this, it's just as detrimental to make things difficult for new and returning players. Yes, the old-timers deserve rewards and perks for their accomplishments, but if folks who are just getting started (or coming back) have to climb a massive wall just to even THINK about catching up, that's a massive turn-off and substantial loss of revenue, too.

Balance is important, but there are limits.

The fact that its not 900 baffles me, 300 points to each category of CP would make more sense.
