No but wow have things under control to an extent, I dont regularly see teams of bots farming in wow, In fact ive never seen a team of bots and considering the hours i put in thats quite a feat, i didnt even see that many individual bots. Nothing compared to this anyway.

There were quite a few you would see flying around pandaria at 85 at launch going node to node.

At launch yes but not for long and there are heap load more people playing wow than this. I can only speak from my personal experience, Ive never had a situation in wow where a quest, dungeon etc was not completable because of bots. Here i have.

We need a max-loot-per-day timer: 5 drops per boss per day.
    And...
We need randomized spawn locations for the bosses: far enough apart so that you can not cover two possible locations with AOE/ranged attacks without moving.

And the reason for this would solve at least ONE (and probably the biggest) of the problems players are having - WoW's dungeons (and those of many many other MMORPGs) are INSTANCED. All ESO needs to do is instance or phase the dungeons & the problems players are having with trying to complete quests that require dungeon kills are gone. If ESO then puts instance timers on (can only enter & kill boss x number of times during a given set time period of x minutes/hours & then are blocked for a larger set time period from re-entering), and prevents boss respawns unless the player exits & resets the dungeon then I truly believe that the bots would slow if not stop. If they can insta-kill & loot the boss over & over & over again with no limits/nothing to prevent the behaviour, they will continue to do so as it is more profitable for them to farm gold this way.

At the launch of MoP it wasn't uncommon to see a level 85 flying node to node.

I totally agree, Instance them, Close them, Remove them, Remove the bots, Limit it to 1 kill per character.... any of these work for me, just fix it!

i have seen lv24 bots players, still in their starter rags doing the same Templar ability over and over at the sight of an NPC.
During the Main Story quest, I took Tharn into a Pub Dungeon, it was amusing to see these bots... players.... attack Tharn for a solid minute with no effect, until suddenly all as one, they simultaneously stopped and went back to waiting for the boss to spawn.

Having GM's ingame is always a good sign for a game. It encourages players to identify with the DEV company, because the company is given a human "face" ingame. Contact with GM's/Dev's ingame has been universally joyous (in my experience). They are there with their GM power's to make mobs spawn, or to get a player out of a Story dungeon that has broken, or any of the myriad other bugs that can appear.

GM's can also ask a player to respond, and sit there waiting for combat to end without any expectation of receiving a response. GM's can use judgment calls and though they might be fallible they are still a safe bet.

GM's however, do require being paid a wage :P

I think they are prepping the game for f2p, hence no game master.
even wow doesnt have in game game masters anymore just the annoying chat ones.

that is what an ingame GM is. They are there they can see you and what is happening.. you just cant see them .. most of the time :P

That article was written in 2012! That's before the outrage over free to play came about last year. Only a tiny fraction of free to play games are any good and have respectable business models.
End the tedious inventory management game.

I tried reporting a bunch of these once, after 2 reports it put me on a 1 minute cooldown (that seemed to last forever) before I could submit another report.

So, I just don't bother any more.

I don't get how they can still make it profitable, I mean, they must be buying the game right? And then they get banned... are they allowed to just make a new character or are they buying the game anew? Have they found some way to "play" the game without paying?

Just seems a matter of waging a war of attrition to me, ban enough of them so the costs are much higher to them to keep it up than it would be to profit from it.

But yeah, seeing as how much money went into the development of this game, and all the top dollar voice actors, it just seems weird they can not hire a few people to scour the 2 servers and just ban bots.

For me it's like painting a work of art then putting it in the garden and watching it rot.

To be honest, I am not certain they are all botters.
Seriously? Someone is Still going to make this claim after the endless stream of videos we've posted?

Human players can't respond in perfect unison, nor attack Before the boss spawns. They blink, they sigh, they cough,...someone asks a question or any of near infinite other things Distract us from being On The Mark every single second.

The Bots - don't have those problems. They can attack before the boss appears, hitting it Simultaneously - in groups as large as 15 - Every Single Spawn, 100% of the time, for as long as you are willing to spend watching.

I am going to go into the game now - pick one of my low levels, and start at the beginning.. and visit Each dungeon in Stonefalls .. and post the result here once I finish.

Then you can watch it, and tell us if you still think these are Human Players operating the characters.
