Kynes aegis hardmode last boss broke!!

Tonight I took my group into Vka hm. At the last boss we had 28 vitality. After one death the person who revived was dropped down as usual. To find that the huge red bubble that usually happens during execute, was there when it wasn't supposed to be. Players died trying to take the portal back to the group again.

Also during the 90% and 80% lightening beam phase. After lining up on the 3rd line. the 4th line up was a huge noticeable damage increase. Even our 50k health main tank got two shotted.

Has there been anyone else experienced this?

    Same for our group PC NA. been waiting since patch so we can do hardmode vKA. Our prog group is getting antsy since it's been a month....

    For the increased damage from lightning I believe this is increased both in hardmode and regular veteran mode, or they have increased the tick increase vs. time. Below I show damage for our same group from before patch to after the patch. We have more ticks of damage before patch (45 vs 39) but the damage overall and the damage per tick is increased. Is this intended?

    About the lightning beam phase:
    Before the patch the damage of "Grievous Pulse" increased slow and steady. Currently it starts about the same way, but after 17 ticks it increases much faster.
    Additionally "Lightning Conduit" hits players twice every time the lightning jumps instead of once. (Basicly jumping back and forth now).

    If it's intended it would be nice to see such changes in the patch notes.

    It seems like most of the guilds that I've talked to have just given up on Kyne's Aegis until it's fixed. It's so badly broken. Our group stopped because the ship's portal on the second boss stopped working entirely. I've posted multiple videos myself where the audio dies and framerates crap the bed after about an hour and a half.

    I wish the combat team actually ran trials (on vet) firsthand, so that they could see for themselves.

    can confirm both of these issues are also experienced by my raid core. also there have been several times we killed the prisoners in final phase, but somehow he comes back to life

    No fix today. What the actual F. This is a full stop to every progression group trying to get dawnbringer, or even clear all hardmodes.

    That's sad to hear.. I would like to of thought that they would do a hotfix. Considering how much it affects trial completion and affects the end content gamers.

    Please acknowledge this, the issue is there for weeks preventing any progress.
    We did not have any issues creating line for lightning mechanic before Stonethorn patch came, now it takes 1-2 shots on last lines and we're all dead. No shield will help this. Not to mention the bug if someone dies and gets resurrected - downstairs bugged unless you wipe. I would think this is more important than correcting some colour on weapons!?

    So please, guys, we love the game, but this needs to be fixed. :'(

    The first issue--the blood dome being present--had been reported back during the first week of Live. It appears in all difficulty modes (normal, vet, and vet HM) and the blood dome will disappear when you wipe or when the first prison phase starts. So one workaround is to just wipe on the boss, since the blood dome bug is only there on the first pull of Falgravn. Of course, if you're going for the no-death, this wouldn't be a suitable workaround, but if you're going for no-death, then there shouldn't be anyone sent downstairs after rezzing.

    The Cowardice damage from the blood dome is shieldable, so it is possible (though still quite difficult) for a rezzer to survive that bug. In addition to rezzing, the blood dome can be a problem during the transition from the second to the third phase, as it's possible for someone drop into the blood dome's Cowardice damage area and die during that transition drop. The workaround for this is to make sure that people are close to the middle of the room (no more than a couple of meters outside the central circular pattern), which would ensure that everyone drops into the safety of the central pit.

    The second issue is the increased damage of Grievous Pulse. The damage starts to ramp sharply after 15s. Although this had been reported as well, I'm not actually sure whether this is a bug or an intended change that missed the patch notes. (I have not yet seen any confirmation that this is unintended.) The lightning chain and Grievous Pulse mechanic is now a lot less forgiving and a lot more exacting on HM, but it is by no means impossible. A group that does the chain mechanic sufficiently quickly should have no problem completing this mechanic deathless. Even with a single chain strategy, with a worst-case beam order, it's possible to complete all four chains before the damage ramp. But it is a lot less forgiving of mistakes now.

    If the Grievous Pulse damage ramp was indeed an intended change, I can understand why the change was made, since it did feel like to me that the chain mechanic last patch was too forgiving and not really worthy of HM. Of course, if this was an intended change, it should have been noted in the patch notes rather than snuck in such a way that people are left wondering if it's a bug.

    I completely agree, but when you progress deaths are about to happen, even if just one. And to wipe just because there is a bug that should not be there in the first place.. is just.. unacceptable solution, imo.

    And people are going to assume this is a bug in lightning/pulse mech, since there has been no communication about it. The difference is very noticeable.

    wtb Zos attention, so that this is finally cleared up - bug/no bug, intended or not?

    Well, yes, a workaround is by definition an imperfect, temporary solution. But for groups without full vitality that are just learning, practicing, or cleaning up the last boss, a quick 20s forced wipe isn't that terrible (what I mean is that at least the bug goes away after the first wipe instead of being something that persists, which would truly make progression difficult).

    The group that I'm in on PC/EU is still continuing our DB prog. Neither of these two things are showstoppers for Dawnbringer. In fact, I know of a group on PC/NA that got the trifecta just a few days ago.

    Same for my group. But how frustrating would it be to get to last boss 36/36 and not be able to clear hm... Bare in mind it's much more difficult for console than PC.

    Our group is still wiping on last boss to clear the downstairs glitch. We tested last night and its still there. Lightning is still absolutely insane. We have been using novas on the last two lightning chains to survive but even then if there is a second delay our entire group wipes. I wonder why they made this change....

    Novas aren't needed. You just need to be fast enough.

    With a single chain group, the worst case scenario for movement is across-side-across. Even without inverting positions for the across movements, it exposes us to 17s of Grievous Pulse, which can be handled by a shielding the last couple of ticks.

    With better RNG (side-across-side), it's 15s, and there's no exposure to the new damage ramp.

    With good RNG (side-side-side), we can do it under 15s.

    Do you have assigned chain positions? That helps speed things up tremendously. We use only 6 links in the chain (positioned at 4m, 9m, 14m, 19m, 24m, and 29m away from the center) with everyone else staying stacked in the middle (for easier healing). Another optimization (that we don't bother with) is to invert the positions for an across movement. So the person assigned closest to the middle will be the farthest from the middle after an across movement. It requires a bit more coordination, but will cut down the time it takes to complete an across movement, and I suspect that if we were to adopt this, we could get our across-side-across chains down to 15s as well.

    And finally, some groups use two chain groups, where one group speculatively pre-positions while the other groups chains. This requires a lot of coordination and practice to get right, but it's faster than single-chain. (This is what Pathfinders used for the first PC/EU Dawnbringer, though I am not sure if they still use this strategy today.)

    The new lightning chain this patch is a lot less forgiving. But it's definitely doable.

    Since i last commented we also did changes, we have speed boost & we do 2 groups of 5 ppl with assigned positions almost like mentioned above. It's super speedy if you get one side - across - other side and the last group has already lined up for last chain. Haven't wiped on lightning anymore since these changes, because it hits immediately.

    Only annoying thing is the needed wipe before we even start a serious HM clear.
    @ZOS_Finn when will that be fixed?

    Our dds tried to shield and run to portal if it was very close to stairs, still failed. That's not normal.

    Lord Falgravn will no longer break the floor and transition to the Ritual Vault while enraged.
    Blood Dome will once again only appear when Lord Falgravn enters the Ritual Vault.
    Grievous Pulse will now do increased damage consistently throughout the duration in Hard Mode, rather than increasing damage dramatically after a short time.

    So many bugs in vka still.... come on. How long has it been now.
    I don’t understand why you would fix the grievous pulse bug. But not the bug where the huge red bubble stays the whole fight. So anyone that dies and revives someone can’t walk out of the red bubble to go in the portal back to the group. Plus all these visual bugs. My groups encountered multiple different visual bugs. It’s beyond a joke now!
