Forced if you want the daily tickets.
Maybe I am wrong, but I recall the dungeons being ones that killed me taster than getting ganked on the PvP quests. And that seemed to happen quickly most of the time in the recent Mid Year event.

They are actually pre-Greymoor sets. Most good pvp players I ve died from (and they are truly better than me), never killed me with proc sets but with their skills. Personally dont have any problem with people using dot sets, I use from time to time too depending on the situation, but whispering someone to call him "useless" etc when you are not a skilled player, is idiotic the least.
Why have an event in a zone that is clearly not popular?
My guess is that they want to have a live test of their "backend changes" under load. But I'm afraid, based upon the new bugs introduced to IC with Update 27 (gap closers greyed out and unusable, for instance), that they aren't going to be pleased with the results.
FlopsyPrince wrote: »Yeah, we can get double Tel Var stones that others can steal when they gank us!
What a great idea!
We don't even have the Cyrodil dailies to give other chances for a daily quest.
I am sure this will make many PvP players happy as the have lots of targets. Why fix the bugs in PvP whe. You can generate lots of easy targets instead?

I mean, fewer of those than the forced PvE events. You're lucky. You should be grateful.
But get mad that PvP'ers get a little something every once in a while.
Any in game events involved with Cyro or IC is dumb. It doesnt have to be stressful and a choire to enjoy a FREAKING EVENT!! Event should be a time of fun game not some annoying, big ego, vengeful, hateful, frustrating, punk, pain in the rear freaking time.
Sorta unrelated but since there are so many knowledgeable people commenting on this thread, what would a person have to do to get the Indrik mount and a fancy variant of it while starting from scratch?
Edit: found a guide on the mount. It takes 40 tickets to make the mount and 40 to evolve. How many tickets will be available from this event? 12 days x 3? 36. So just sort of being able to get the base mount. Lame.

This is not meant to be a bash PVP post. PVP needs their events like PVE does. Just stop trying to force PVE players from having to go to a PVP zone for PVE rewards. Conversely, offer PVP items and rewards only in PVP zones so that PVP players do not have to play PVE. For those who want to do both, make sure PVE and PVP events do not happen at the same time.
Gaming the system is a new one this year, due to the event tickets being tied to the dailies.
Last year, all we had to do was kill a boss in Imperial City, or finish the dungeons. Oh, the woes and lamentations from people who hated PVP but just wanted quick tickets from the Imperial City bosses!
Oh, right, no one was being forced to PVP. Not last year and not this year either.
If you don't want to PVP, run the dungeons! You'll get the same event rewards (minus double Tel Var). Don't whine when you come to a PVP-enabled zone for quick rewards and *gasp* PVP happens.
part of the problem with imperial city bosses wasn't even the ganking (though it was plentiful) part of the problem was that many of the bosses were bugged and would NOT drop the tickets. and its not that they were the "wrong" bosses either. they were the same type, but some would drop tickets and others... would not (even if you were eligible for loot... which is a whole other can of worms)
but anyways...

Yeah, I have no doubt the issues with the boss tickets and probably the negative reaction to other non-daily events like Murkmire and Dragon Rise is the reason for the change. After all, if PVEers weren't happy with just killing a boss, they wouldn't want it to become harder by having to spend more time in the zone doing a quest.
My point was more that "gaming the event" or not is pretty irrelevant to the problems of PVP-hating players choosing to "endure" the event by participating in PVP-enabled content despite having two PVE-only options. They complained last year too.
