Favourite race lore-wise

Bosmer

You asked 2 questions--which is your favorite to play regardless of changes, and which is the best racial lore. These have 2 different answers for me.

My favorite race to play is Bosmer.

But to me, the most fascinating lore belongs to the Khajit.

Khajiit

IMHO ESO did best in giving Khajiit personality they locked in provious ES games. On the other hand Nord seem to have less depth compared to Skyrim.

The question was about everyone's favourite race for the way it feels and the associated lore - regardless of dps, passives and meta. For example many people pick Altmer bc they are strong and not because they necessarily like the race lore.

I was trying to withhold my Altmer supremacist views but here goes.

Men: Greedy belligerent ants, whose only strength is their ability to reproduce and overwhelm enemies with their sheer numbers. They like physical combat, like the tiny insects they are. They come in four varieties, stocky mountain ants (Nords), robust desert ants (Redguards), gracile militaristic ants (Imperials), plain half-elves (Bretons).

Betmer: Tailed beasts, haven't separated themselves from nature yet so they're basically savages. Two varieties: Moon-worshiping cats and tree-worshiping lizards.

Mer: All elves that left Summerset have lost connections with our ancestors, the Aedra. They no longer follow the Empyrean light of Aldmeris and have been contaminated by the Daedra. Chimer descendants are Daedra-worshiping abominations, lost sheep. They're either handyman monsters (Orsimer), dark devils (Dunmer), or cannibalistic primitives (Bosmer).

The only worthy race are the Altmer, we invented culture, language, science, arts, religion. We are the beginning of civilization in Tamriel. Only we know the path to Alaxon, we are the Aedra!

wanted to vote Altmer but Dunmer just has so much lore compared to any other race in the elder scrolls series.

the houses of morrowind
red mountain
dagoth ur
deeply rooted history with the dwemer

they have most of the lore behind them.

Dunmer

Dunmer of course. Never played TES3 but i was in search of which race to choose after i wasnt satisfied with my Khajiit and Nord here but in my playthru i grow to like Dark Elves.

Looks good both male and female
Beautiful and alien homeland
Talented at both magic and blade
Resilient
Interesting lore
Love the way how they talk ( weird i dont like how british people talk really, but i love this iteration)
Sotha Sil and mechanical world ( i guess i have to give credit to Dwemers here too)
Divayth, Naryu, Morag Tong.
Mushrooms, Jellyfish, those alienesque scavenger alien thingies forgot the name..

Their side in Tri Alliance War is also interesting. i also like Pact, Red Flag, Dragon Emblem and Argonians/Nords.

You don't seem to know much about history (and not about religion either). Orsimer and Bosmer are not descendants of the Chimer. The Chimer or Velothi were the Aldmer tribes who grouped under their prophet Veloth and migrated from Aldmeris to Morrowind (or Resdayn, as it was called back then). They're the direct predecessors of the Dunmer. Bosmer and Orsimer don't have anything to do with them. Also, Bosmer don't generally worship the Daedra, and the Dunmer gave up Daedra worship already ages ago.

Bosmer

I love elves! But the high elf is way too tall and big looking and I prefer my chars to be smaller and short.. like me lol. So it's woodelf for me. I created and played the starter zone about 10 times in this darn game with different races and in the end I went back to the woodelf.
