Just read the patch notes, they ignored all our suggestions and went ahead and did it. I'm sorry but I can't face taking all those characters through PVP again. I just can't.
So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.

No - see you in battlegrounds. Don't wonder about the people who do not contribute to group effort and just crouch in some corner to wait for the end while watching netflix. >:)

Cyrodiil is torture without rapids even with a fully levelled horse. But hey, perhaps I can make some money by buying the two-seat Dwemer spider and offering a taxi service o:)

It's amazing that the issue with Rapid Maneuver was brought up and the developers did not take them into consideration.

I don't test on the PTS, don't have the hard drive space, so I didn't know what shock was coming when I logged in today.

I've been playing since the November 2013 beta and I love this game.

They had to know that Rapid Maneuver was used to speed up new character's mounts just to get around the world of Tamriel. It is the first thing I did when I hit level 10 on EVERY new character. Rapid Maneuver was ESSENTIAL to my gameplay on ALL of my characters. This is a critical skill. I like moving around the world as fast as I can. I should not have to PVP for five hours on each character just to regain an ability I considered ESSENTIAL and that I had on ALL of my characters since March 30, 2014.

I'm still going to play the game, but I am going to make my displeasure known as much as possible. I hope ZOS listens. Please @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom
Please listen to us. Rapid Maneuver is essential. I don't have the willpower to go in on 11 other characters just to acquire a skill that I already had. A skill that I need. When I level a new character I do it by looking for skyshards and to get around Tamriel on a new character with a speed level at 10 or so (and steadily increasing) is arduous and time consuming. Rapid maneuver really helped with that.

I saw a guildmate in chat tonight saying his teammates in BG were threatening to report him for sandbagging, but he was telling them it was ZOS's decision to make him PvP when he didn't want to.

    And so it begins.

I think the outcry is a bit too extreme. Rapid is a really useful QOL skill, yes, that is locked behind PVP. A content that many people avoid like the plague. At least people now have an incentive to give it a try. Don't come with the excuse that you will be late to sieges in Cyro, because your groupmates can and will buff you up. This is also true in other content, your groupmates can extend their rapids to you. Think of it as an important QOL skill that you need to work for. Honestly it's not that hard to get it. I think stam players had a harder time getting Vigor than everyone else will have getting Rapid.

No, rapids wasn't locked behind PvP - that's the whole point.

Correct. The whole point was to sell you riding lessons, AvA skill lines for your alts, the new two person mount..... and to slow players down for "performance improvements." Otherwise, they would have done the sensible thing and made Vigor (a heal) the first unlock in the Support skill line and left Rapids the first unlock in the Assault skill line. Then both would have only taken a three minute quest with no fighting to acquire.

It's bloody hard to get, which is what prompted the switch with Vigour ion the first place. We're talking multiple hours per character multiple times.

My stamina Nightblade uses his class magicka heal over Vigor, and uses his stamina for doing damage, like he should.

To the people saying that the support skills are unrequired or that level 5 for vigor is a chore try being a pve healer. Purge is necessary in pve and the grind to getting the passive magicka aid is way more of a grind than undaunted mettle. Level 9 in support skill line guys! Suck it up, it's an mmo.

Why didn't the developers ever comment on this issue, this DRASTIC change? The only rationale given was to give Stamina players a viable heal (but that's baloney)

Not entirely rubbish, now that there is a universal stamina heal we have now it has been freed up (believe me, my stamblades do a whole lot better now!), but they should've swapped Vigour and Siege Shield, the latter of which has no use outside of Cyrodiil at all, and is hardly an urgent ability to slot.

If they switched Vigor and Siege Shield it'd also effect the Magicka Aid passive making it so that all stamina builds that slot Vigor would get 10% increased magicka regeneration, while the builds that have slotted Siege Shield wouldn't. I'm not against the idea, but just thought I'd point this out.
