"Eso is detected as a keylogger."

This is what my firewall says. Should I be worried?

Hello, @Blackread‌. We're sorry to hear that's happening! We can assure you that as long as you downloaded your ESO client from https://account.elderscrollsonline.com/, or installed it from official discs, there is not a keylogger in the program.

Would you please let us know what firewall software you are using, for further investigation?

Wait, wait... So you're saying that ESO *doesnt* log keys we press and send them to a ZOS server? :open_mouth:

Haha, games being recognized as viruses/keyloggers/whatever is not too uncommon with mediocre firewall/antivirus applications. Its just false detections.

You also might update your firewall software. It may just not know what ESO is yet. Some Virus/Firewalls detect anything that communicates back and forth as a virus of some kind.

What are you using for protection, so ESO can get with them?

I'm using Zone Alarm firewall, and I have the same ESO client I downloaded from the official website during beta.

Sounds like there are 2 possibilities:

    1) You do have a keylogger on your system, that is intercepting your ESO login. This would not be ESO itself, but rather a malicious program attempting to capture your login details
    2) It's a false positive from your firewall program

A keylogger will log every stroke you do on your keyboard. This is not what happens when you are logging into the server. You type in your name and password. Nothing has been sent yet, untill you hit return.

Are you aware what a log is? I kind of doubt it, though that would make you really stupid. No keylogging should be needed at all in games.

Umm. He was making a joke. Implying the client doesn't pass on key presses to the server.

Perhaps, but it is also apparent that he doesn't know the difference from passing on a key press (which it in essence does not do, it's the command which is passed on, not the key.) to key-logging.
