I want to parse without lag.

So, I generally want to find the best place to parse lagless, so I have come to ask for forum wisdom.
1. Do you know which house instance lags the least?
2. Do you know if more furniture means more lag? (For example I am pretty sure that my murkmire attack plants were causing much more lag, after removing them I *think* I had less issues, but i might be wrong)
3. From my experience first parse almost doesn't lag, then next parses start lagging, anyone had similar experiences/solution for it?
4. Is the only way to parse in peace is to avoid prime time?

Parsing without lag would not be terribly relevant as practice for actual fight situations, would it?

Seriously, if you clutter your own house with lots of animated stuff, the lag can be affected by it, sure, because it adds to the things that have to be processed, but the main cause of lag is the server load, and the only way to avoid that is to play when very few others are online. If you want an indicator, I find that the response time when making deposits into a guild bank is very strongly dependent on the server load in general.

I've heard this "Use the Cyrodiilic jungle house, and have nothing in there", but I can say that at least for me - the difference is absolutely minuscule, like non existing tbf. I seem to have most lag in this Hall of the Lunar Champion (Hall of the Colossus). I put a 6m dummy in there, and there's actually significant lag there, at least compared to an almost fully furnished Hakkvild's Hall, where I have a similar dummy inside the small barrow near the entrance. I experience nearly no lag at all there, most of the time.

I don't have a trial dummy myself, but one friend has his in the werewolf house in Riften, and the other in the Cyrodiilic Jungle house - the later has only his banker there besides the dummy, and the werewolf place has huge **** like Sunspire statutes, vampire fountains etc. with large animated effects. I can't really tell any difference between those, they both work pretty well.

I think I can see some reduced lag when using the skeleton polymorph, but also when using some more down to earth costume, instead of a normal outfit. I guess it depends on motifs/dyes etc., but not sure.
Certain skills are also worse for weaving, and seem more likely to feel laggy. On my MNB, I can weave very, very fast with Swallow Soul, while the vampire spammable (either morph) and Elemental Weapon seems a lot more prone to kind of "get stuck" and cause wonky animation glitches.

MOSTLY, the performance seems to differ from day to day/time of the day, and not as much depending on where I'm at and what appearance I have. Also, make sure you are not going too fast. Since I quit button mashing like a maniac like a year or so ago, I'm doing a lot better. Previously I got booted from the server all the time when doing dummy parses, but they seem to have fixed that problem - that also happend mostly when you were going like really too fast.
When I was like "Ok I'm gonna go reeeeeal slow", and then gradually increased the tempo, I found a sweet spot and rarely have any lag in houses (except as described above, the Lunar Champion place).

I say you should make your home as laggy as possible to simulate how bad some of the endgame dungeons and trials are.
    Makes for more realistic practice.

Ha, then I’m winning at that. One of my houses is a horrific lag fest. Simply walking causes stutters and frame drops. It’s SOOO pretty though, lol.

On a serious note, just use any tiny or small house that isn’t super popular for decorators and guilds. Keep as little stuff in it as possible, like ideally a dummy and nothing else. It may not be lag free, but it will be a lot less.

Parsing when it's not prime time seems to make a big difference.

Turn master merchant off, out of date add-ons and any other add-ons that churn away resources

Skeleton polymorph in a small empty space may help on the CPU side if it has been working too hard. The ugliest parsing I get is in a Gorinir Estate filled with several hundred giant trees.

But really none of the above speed increases like non-prime time or empty house would help when you actually want to DPS in a dungeon

For me it seems to be more of when I play and not so much where(unless it’s Cyrodiil). Try parsing in the early morning see if that makes a difference.

I will try getting another house I guess during the next free ESO+ event and will see the heck is going on.

No it's rocking in Texas too....mainly because the NA Megaserver is here.

I use the psijic villa. It only has dummies and a banker. And the performance is pretty good when I have a solid connection. I do believe it's slightly better than my primary house that's fully decorated.

Why do so many people think that dummy parses are "practice for actual fight situations"?

Probably the only consistent answer when PTS is online, otherwise the most impactful variable is going to be server population so you'd want to parse during non-peak hours.

Well, it is not entirely, but I would like to be able to compare skills tyvm. You know, compare till I hit the right build?

Yes, they are - in a way. If you parse enough with the same set up and skills, you no longer have to look at the bar in a fight.
Veteran trials, hm bosses are a lot easier when you can see all the mechanics and avoid one/shots,heavy attacks, aoe- s ... people looking at the bar all the time are often too late.

I know this thread is a little bit older, but while I have no solution I do want to say that I've had this exact experience over the last couple of days. Upon entering, first parse is is much cleaner and LA's register properly but after that it just gets worse. Sadly, I don't have a solution except to leave and go back in.

My parsing house is Forsaken Stronghold. All it has in it is two dummies and a couple of lights. At first I thought it was where the dummies were located (one was outside, and when I used it to build ulti it always was smooth, and one was inside upstairs) so I moved the raid dummy outside and still could only get non-lagging performance the first time I parsed.

I am pretty consistent on all "first parses" so I don't think it's me. Would also be interested in other suggested solutions besides long load screens if anyone has any. :)

    My only suggestions are:
    1. Generate ultimate outside, and do 1 parse at a time. (As sad as it is).
    2. Parse during early morning hours in pc EU, anything between 3am and 10 am will do.
    3. Parse during updates that have house related features. For example, the first week that we got pathing, houses were super stable, and you could parse flawlessly even in prime time (during the Uber crashes nothing in pve/PvP works cause lag times). I don't know what they did, and saying that they moved server resources so people can enjoy the new feature while dumping **** on everything else is a "conspiracy" theory, so I will leave it to your own interpretation.

Edit: this thread is still relevant, because parsing still lags in prime time PC EU. No reason to close it.

Wouldn't it also be nice to parse where skills actually fire instead of getting stuck in weaving.
