Some folks say this is ridiculously long, but I feel like a game of this size could have any number of large problems at any time. Then again, it's also said that ZOS is ill-equipped to handle their own game.

I have now had 3 extra sleep sessions and even one of those out in the sunshine I sometimes forget about that glowy ball thing in the sky.
And too, I now have another 50 mins to make something to eat and get ready to be back online.

I dunno man. I play, or have played most of the mmo's out there. Either the vast majority have short maintenances, no maintenances, or infrequent maintenances- because I hardly ever notice them. Not so much the case with ESO...1 -

Sirvaleen✭✭✭✭IMHO the problem isn't that it's long.. the real bother are the recurring extensions. For people in EU, it doesn't help working around the maintenance and that's a let down, every time.
Schedule more time for it from the start, yes ? If it takes less, well it will be appreciated. Extending down time never is.2 -
