You don't need to teleport anywhere to use the drinks. You can also keep several of them on your character and use them whenever you see your Vamp effects fading off. The drinks are more convenient than biting because you don't need to leave what you're currently doing and seek out an NPC in your zone to bite; but with your furniture you'll have to rezone twice to get back to what you're doing, so the furniture are even less practical than the regular biting.TX12001rwb17_ESO wrote: »

Based on my platform's exchange rates, do you know how many Bloody Maras you can buy with 4000C/1,000,000g??? Even if you buy all your drinks (rather than crafting them which is much cheaper), you'd have to use the drinks every single hour 24/7 and you'll still have enough for 416 days. That's when the furnishing Bundle will break even in price
And the drinks give you stat bonuses too...
So yeah. You're essentially buying a dead NPC and an oversized fountain for 4k
Sometimes we do not want the accociated buffs that come with those potions because they may overwrite the effects of a superior food item, I also like to switch stages constantly and do a lot of RP.
So whatever if you like the items that's great; but they're not exactly practical for frequent use. The only single niche in which they are better is if you want to parse several Vamp stages in a short period while keeping another food buff throughout them. But again, how often will anybody even do that? Often enough to warrant the exorbitant price difference? I'll let everyone decide for themselves, but it's certainly doubtful.

Well it may not be "Real" but for many players who spend day in and day out playing it is their life.
It is not. If their in-game character runs out of food, nothing happens. If your real-life character, that is to say, YOU, runs out of food, you starve. Which is the main reason why food had value and a price matching it. Pixels do not. Pixels sustain nothing. So the only measure for their worth is the work put into them. And in this case, it doesn't match what ZOS ask of your money. Money that could be spent on actual items (like food) of actual value.

✭✭✭✭The price does not seem too high to be honest, compared to everything else in the crownstore. These items have an in-game functionality, besides being normal furniture. Vampires may be in a terrible state right now, but I'm still getting these items for when they are fun to play again.
Prices are usually based on the countries with high-valued money, making items seem very expensive for some other countries.
PS: I never compare RL cash to in-game gold. Even though some players use this, I see them as unconnected. The game is the game, and real life is real life.0 -
Galwylin✭✭✭✭✭Many have said this and I used to myself, if you can't afford it don't buy it. Seems a simple enough statement to understand and probably what the company would love to say themselves. That statement doesn't apply because these aren't goods with finite numbers. If they want to have a pet cost 6k they can just like they could have a noble house with a price of 200 crowns. How do mounts that used to cost 1.5k crowns are now 3.5k? Did the ranchers start charging more for their stock? Did they give their artists a double salary raise? Because this looks more like we just want more money because. For a large portion of this game, the store are the only rewards you will ever earn. But not earning like play through the newest trial but like go get a job. There shouldn't be fluctuation of prices in a virtual store. There are not sales that deplete stock. You don't raise prices to offset the lack of demand.
It feels and looks like greed. This isn't a scene from Wall Street. Its not entertaining to watch.

Well, the cost is there because they have to pay peeps to create it. The model, texturing, animation, etc
On these items they also affect your vampy level, so there is that.
I am sure those REAL LIFE PEOPLE do not work for free.
Do I think the price is high, yes I do. Though it is ZOS’ call and their product. I am not privy to their overhead for such projects, so who can say if it is high. 🤷🏻♀️
To you it is a rip-off to others it is not.
For me I just wish the fountain was more elegant vampy looking and the blood dummy healthy colored. The ghoul thingy is gross.

So traveling to your home and out again is more handy? The loading screens would drive me nuts!
The only way it would be as, or more, convenient would be if you are someone who frequently travels to your home, anyway.
I travel to it all the time, in between activities, as I have constant inv issues and so, need to decon frequently.
So, for me, this might be as, or even marginally more, convenient than having to carry drinks around (if I played a vamp, which I don't).
However, for most people, it will probably be less.1 -

I do agree with this.
However, because ESO is a game without a compulsory sub, they could argue that they ideally need to make more from Crown Store items than just the cost of the item (+ normal markup), to make up for the lack of subs.
The issue I have with that argument, though, is where does it leave those people who do already (and consistently) pay for a sub?
Being double-dipped on, that is where.
Or even more than that, if you factor in the intentional overpricing of the items, to try to make-up for the fact that other people aren't paying for the sub (that you are).
I know there are now the occasional ESO+ only offers, which give you a small discount on the price of certain Crown Store items.
However, that really isn't sufficient compensation, if you compare it with a game where a similarly priced sub gets you access to pretty much everything, without paying any extra.

✭✭✭If fewer people are subscribed, then there are probably fewer people playing the game as a whole, reducing server cost. I don't think that calculation works out. But I don't have the numbers, so it's just a theory.
Main argument however is they could have put more into the pack. Easiest approach, TWO dummies. Or a 6m dummy. Two wells. Vampire furniture, a bat pet or a re-skinned dark death hound mount. All those things would have cost basically nothing, maybe ten minutes of work while sitting on the toilet. What we got is an insult, if you consider that.0 -

The fountain is... rather... peculiar about the ineractable/notinteractable boundaries it allows

In open field, on the vertical axis, you really have barely any room to move. Maybe burrowing it into the ground worked on PTS, but on live it does not.
However, clipping it into other objects seems to break it. Especially if you clip the "tower" part of it completely into a similar structure, like a pillar. In that case, placement possibilities become... interesting.2 -
Galwylin✭✭✭✭✭On a list things that bother me this is pretty low and probably not even on it. But the one thing about it that bothers me is being a vampire shouldn't be about the perks but about the playing as a vampire. The role playing. Which is fine if players want to take that route and just be about the benefit. The company though should be thinking about what is the purpose of vampires being in the game if not to play to that fantasy. This just signals to me that ZOS isn't interested in the role play of players as much as I'd like for them to be. Having the skills of vampire is more important than playing as a vampire. Its worrisome because if they don't understand why people have chosen to play as vampires how can they ever deliver a great experience as one? Maybe they do and this is just about making some cash. When you see the Thieves Guild, Dark Brotherhood, Mages Guild, Fighters Guild, etc be just about the numbers you also see no further development. Like they barely exist and only are coloring for the setting. And if those don't matter and now if vampires don't matter, do any of the classes themselves matter? Come to think of it, I don't think there's anything in the game giving us a viewpoint of how our class is viewed. Its all just treated as some bland numbers game. Why does ESO even exist if you don't comprehend what appeals to players and how the game address that. This is just another step down the wrong road.

Haven✭✭✭Well. To me its a little worse than just the price. The fact that we had those "features" in the game for free now they want us to pay for them for convenience sucks. We used to be able to just use abilities to stage up, then bite some npc to stage down.
Counting the Mara drinks of course. Those are still a thing.3
