Everyone tries to be funny these days... As for OP, you describe it as it's a good thing, it very well could be, but I don't think it has a place in RPG genre, now most defensive abilities are not even worth firing up, since now it is who will kill faster, most defensive abilities are now obsolete, they may as well remove them. I prefer a mix of both action and tactics, which we had to some extent before this "awesome" patch, now it's MMOFPS with abilities.

Many times my death recap lists a bunch of skills that hit me but on my monitor I don't see any effect that shows those incoming attack and I just find myself dead.
Can it be lag? If so has anyone experience with gaming vpn?

No amount of vpn that gets you 1ms better connection will save you from zos's server that takes 150ms to process one calculation.....Issue is out of our control. All we can do is hope zos actually reinvests back into the game with all of the money we spent on them. Last time they reinvested our money was to make the console version using the money from the pc players who were starting to have server issues.
The server strain could be drastically reduced, but zos likely wont make the necessary changes because the changes would directly hurt average/lower skilled players. If you have kept up with zos's PR statements over the past year it is pretty clear we wont be seeing these improvements anytime soon with the current combat team.

This game has a quick combat mode, without CD and short cast times. Is like a frenzy without stop.
Visually in pvp is hard to see from where damage comes and then suddenly your hp bar goes down in 0,5 seconds.
Then you have to watch the board to see wtf killed you.
Is this a tactical game? No really, is about to know how to manage resources, being good in moving and using walls to hide, but that's it, then the rest is rush over your enemy.
This game requires skill? Yes, but to be quick with the buttons and being good with your fingers. Not too much about thinking.
To be good in pvp is more a feeling, when you do pvp a lot then you feel the things happen before they really happened, then you know when to roll, heal or back off without need to have a visual feedback.
Sad, but that is pvp in ESO, no what you see, but what you don't see. Otherwise you are a dead man walking.
So what killed you? I'm pretty sure that 80% of the people that does pvp don't know what killed them. All have to take a look to the recap to see what was it.
I think this kind of pvp Is bad for new players that try pvp. I think it makes them quit before really try. I know because it happened to me, I went through the same, then I got good gear, make everything in gold, tune my character to the maximum and then anyways play and play and have a *** bad time in the beginning, till I finally start to get it. In the end I just play by enertia, like the *** Neo in matrix, you just see the code and you don't need any visual feedback.
Most of my deaths in pvp make sense, but there are times like today when suddenly I go from full health to dead in less than a second, and I check the recap to see the same player used five skills on me within that one second, and I am left wondering how.
Any theories how that happens?

It's the desync. I often have where I'm running from a zerg, can see ranged attacks pelting me, die and theres a bunch of dizzy swings and executioner. Watch for the your character to jump locations while dead. To them, I was just standing there eating it.
