I understand players want Aesthetic options, but putting 4 reskins of a bat pet we got for free just seems like bloat and a way to slow down Gem gain.

Add on the fact as you can't even "decon for Gems" any pets you don't want and it's even more frustrating to see your hard earned cash combusting in front of your eyes as Pacrooti sarcastically says "Nice, time for another go around".

When you add all the weapon skins and non combat pets in a crown crate season it's more and more likely your first "15 crate pack" is used just to obtain all the stuff you Don't want just so you can use another 15 crates to get Gems to buy the things you Do want... (unless it's a 400 gem mount or the unbuyable Radiant Apex).

This is Casino roulette levels of the House gaming the system so the house wins

    Was there ever any thought the house would NOT win?

    I would urge folks who do crates to let go of expectations...but since I can't seem to actually take that advice, I avoid them myself.
    Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
    Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
    Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
    Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

    Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
    House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
    Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

    I don't have Super expectations, i can understand putting A bat in the vamp themed crate but c'mon, a snow bat, a orange bat, a black bat, a tartan bat, a purplemonkeydishwasher bat a Malibu Stacy in a new hat Bat.

    They could have put some in the store as a direct buy, I would have honestly preferred potions, at least i can break them down.

    Hallelujah for the UK gambling commission currently looking into this sort of thing, a micro transaction shouldn't just be something you hate/hold no value in or won't use.

    Everything that comes in those crates should be able to be traded in for gems, even if you don't have the item yet. I have so many pets and body/face decorations I don't want and will never use that it isn't even funny. I'd have preferred to trade them for gems instead of them going into my collection to gather dust.

    So Zos has added more items of the less desirable kind to the crates in a manner to dilute the chances of getting something interesting. More reason for me to continue buying crates.

    When the UK culture and entertainment committee that are already reviewing these gambling and multi "Currency" systems see the dossier of drop rates and cash per reward that crown crates have there will be changes, ESO has more different currencies than a global continent.

    A supermarket wouldn't get away with selling you "Mystery boxes" that could contain £4 worth of tins or £20 worth of steak for £50 worth of "Supermarket fun bucks" so why should the game industry enjoy adding gambling into a simple transaction.

    I' ve got a hard time understanding people that complain about loosing their "hard earned money" if they them self burn it on crown crates. Its not like you need anything from there to play the game competetive.

    Your point is moot, you can't "play the game competitively" currently with server performance and bugs like "go through a door, now skills don't fire" or "mag toon losing chunks of stamina for using unrelated skills".

    Also as a consumer i have the right to buy any product i like, i would like to buy a skin, but i can't buy it because the marketing department has Deliberately put hurdles between me buying it (see my last post RE supermarkets), this is what's known as shady practice, making it as hard as possible to obtain.

    You COULD only ever wear dollar store clothes.... should Adidas or *** stuff come in a random gambling box where you have a 90% chance to get socks instead of sneakers?.. you CAN fish with a bamboo stick but if you like fishing you might want to buy some comfort items, equipment, even decorations for your house.. you don't Gamble for them.

    The only reason crown crates exist is because zos control the closed market system of ESO and they chose to because they CAN.

    That's horrid!

    I can understand not being interested in different colors but I would be thrilled if I got all the bats in a crate. I love the bat pet, it is small an unobtrusive, and doesn't make too much noise. Being able to change the color once in a while just mixes it up a little. I may outright buy a couple more of them with gems.

    What you want and don't want from the crates is pretty subjective.
    I'm perfectly happy with the bat pets. :smile:

    I'd be really disappointed if I got a Legendary card... for a weapon I never use. That's like 100 gems wasted.
    Back in the day they used to add Motif pages and books, so you could decon the ones you didn't want.
    Now they made them Style unlocks that go into your collections automatically. :smirk:
    How fortuitous that these changes seem to favor the house and saddling players with unsalvageable junk.

    Got to cater to them pumpkin spice clan vampire RP clans...

    Wonder If we pay them enough money they might also add "Hair" to the new hats they just introduced instead of your character going bald as a cue ball. 🙄
