Should 2h weapons like staffs/swords/bows count as 2 set piece instead of 1?

Ugh, so many people don't understand the DW passive and think that's a reason that Staves should count as two weapons. This is a thread about set bonuses. No amount of "passives passives passives" talk is going to change the fact that this thread was originally talking about 2H's acting as 2 set pieces.

The DW passive, that many of you seem to not be able to get past, works the way it does and provides more WP/SP is because of how it's calculated. It doesn't take an average of the two weapons (which it should). it takes 1 weapon + the 2nd weapon which = more WP/SP. If it took the two damages and did as an average it would provide LESS WP/SP than 2H.

2 hand weapons should be able to count as two pieces of a set. I wouldn't change anything else about it, but that would be a welcome addition. 2H weapons don't need anything else but this. Two one-handed weapons have different configurations that allow flexibility, but if you have a 2-hander, it is what it is. It would certainly open up a new world of build diversity.

I vote yes, because its silly seeing the difference in the same class spells just because I weapon swap from DW to Bow.
If anything the bow frees a hand for more of the fight, which should make class spells easier to perform.

That said I'd also like to see an option to bare hand fight for builds where having nothing in either hand gave you a buff beyond what you would have with items in your hands (empty hands should give passive spell casting buff or ability to grab/disarm/dodge) at the cost of not being able to block and the loss of item stats.

But it won't happen, its too different to every 'normal' mmo mechanic used, and they have a hard enough time just balancing the resource types.

tbh i like the extra thoght you have to put into your gear if you play 1piece/2piece as weapons. albeit it's often covered by msa weapons but still - sometimes you really have to make up your mid. add to the fact that health boni (torgus 3rd, endurance set, etc) are nothing you want affected by weapon swap.

imho it feels strange and is often inconvenient, but that's what keeps cookie-cutter solutions down

When I go into cyrodiil it seems to me that 2h; bow and staves are already very popular, and even more than dual wield (except nb specced in bombing). S&B is very used by magicka DK/templar but thats about it, and there is a good amount of staff DK/templar aswell... so I would say its balanced as it is; people here are just asking for unecessary buffs that would potentially force further every stam builds to go 2h+bow and magicka dps builds destro+resto
