Would you gladly see new ESO content come to a complete halt in order to get an entire chapter release be DEVOTED to performance upgrades and server stability?

I don' t really have troubles with performance upgrades and server stability so for myself I can think of a few dozen other things I'd give priority.

Other than yesterday's fiasco, or maybe the day before yesterday's now, I'm not having performance issues.

I’m having issues where half my ground textures now suddenly turn to rubbish. These performance issues seem to just keep piling up faster than they are getting shoveled out.

makes no sense at all - what do you want those employees to do, who aren't involved in these matters - like the art people?

No. Performance is abysmal, but there are different teams working on a new content, on bugs, and on performance. A team that works on lore and designs, would be useless, if rerouted to fixing bugs, and person who decides on crown store item availability cannot contribute to improving performance. You suggest, that teams that work on new content, designs, sounds, should just stop their work and stop being payed?

Been there, done that. Won't touch CP with a six foot pole. Non-cp is manageable some days outside peak times, but even that's rough these days most of the time. Imperial City and Battlegrounds are my PvP fix now. But, hard to play these days obviously :/ .

It doesn't matter one whit what a couple hundred (if that) people on the forums want. ESO isn't going to cut off their revenue stream to fix performance.

The only "vote" that matters, in the end, is subscription, game, chapter, and DLC sales across the whole of the game's population.

    I'm Jarl Sindrik. I have spoken. :)

More so, I just want to have PvE not lag... PvE... That's all. Also, no sarcasm implied by my yelling and annunciation of certain words in title. Attention grabbers and such really. That's all...

I just think we need to start keeping visible polls that show the majority of the population feels this game needs to pump the brakes, bend the business model for a few months, and help this thing churn better. Don't have to agree obviously. But, it's my opinion and I'd be curious to see what that vote differential would be if this thread stayed alive long enough to see a few days, let alone week's worth of time on here.

Numbers/visibility on a public forum mean something. But, alas, this thread will be closed soon enough for some reason I'm sure.

May I see the data that proves this? I would love to see you account for the majority of the player base

Is this the part where I quietly sit back and let the stats speak for themselves? Yeah... think so.

Sampling sizes mean something. But, sure, let's continue to back a model that continuously falls flat release after release as of late.

Like I said in other threads, there's plenty to do and plenty to explore. I know there are quite a few people who haven't purchased or completed some of the older chapters or DLC yet. I know I still have to complete certain parts of the base game, Summerset and Southern Elsweyr.

    Go for it!

    Of course I would.

They released new content and I haven't been able to play now for what.. 3 days?

So if it is between new content I can't play with poor performance or a smooth experience with current content it's not a hard choice at all.

As much as I love the game and the people that work on it, it really is disheartening to see the game struggle so.
I know that if they could just give the game the fixes and software/hardware updates it deserves, it would thrive.
Sure, ESO is very successful now, but it really does have a lot of problems.

Of course, we know there is little to no chance of this happening. Chapters are probably the main source of income (next to the crown store) so there is no way they would take that away.

ESO is a lovely, lovely game. A game that will keep chugging along like an old camper van that is somehow still running, despite all logic. And like an old camper van, ESO will continue to sputter along; tyres worn thin, engine coughing away, creaky brakes, until the day it either comes to a dead stop and they can't start the engine again, or they get a shiny new ride and the old wagon gets left to rust in the garage.
Struggling to find a new class to call home. Please send help.

    I voted no.

Not because I wouldn't love better responsiveness, no more desyncs or less lag. But because I fail to see any success in their previous so called performance improvements. Dedicating one entire update to fixing but NOT fixing performance problems would be like getting no update at all.

Not really that fussed if they are continuing to monitor and isolate the issues as they go. The product in many ways has to evolve, and yes we are always going to see performance related issues, particularly in areas where there is high concurrent players in zone/area.

I would however like to see the more annoying bugs such as the issue where you have to roll-dodge to be able to interact with loot which does seem to be happening more, since greymoor.

I guess i'm just willing to give them time and space to iron things out and not stamp my feet demanding it.

This doesn't make any sense. New content is mostly developed by creatives (writing, art, sound, etc.) who have nothing to do with stuff such as performance or stability upgrades. Of course new systems (like the new antiquities system) involve more, but your typical "new content" would be created mostly isolated. So putting content on hold wouldn't make improvements come faster.

Besides that, There've been significant improvements over the last few years, especially the last one, and the Greymoor update pushed performance even more on my system, so can't really complain there either.

No offense, but problem is that you didn't saw game in it's finest. If you joined in Dec 19, game was already running bad, and so current situation might look fine for you, but for those of us who are used to immediate button press reactions, to distinctive 100ms timings, current performance looks like a sad joke.

I don't have a problem with the performance but halting a little content so everyone can enjoy it is a small price to pay, the whole "my ship is water tight so screw you" is a bit of a lame view to have especially nowadays.
