Hi, guys!
Like many of you, i am an ESO Plus subscriber and i am wondering if there will be any time compensation for all this downtime.
It is the second time in the past two weeks that i couldn't play because of errors. First my launcher didn't load and none of the solutions provided worked and now we have the login issue.
I am a relatively new player here and as such, i wanted to ask the more veteran players if ZeniMax usually adds the time lost independently to your actions back to the subscription.

Scarletblaze✭✭✭Many of us have wanted compensation but the reality is, ZoS is a business at the end of the day. They will continue to function that way until the day comes when everyone stops buying from their crown store. That is the only way to get their attention to fix their game.

✭They did not compensate when subscribers lost access to ESO+, why would they compensate for maintenance?
They have not compensated the Steam players or those on PC EU which both have seen significant down time.1 -

Thats crazy! You must not have played WoW that long because I remember playing in 2007+ and, you're not going to believe this, but it still had crazy lag and problems! Their maintenance was also 12 hours long and downtime/login queues were constant0 -

✭✭✭✭✭No ZOS do not compensate subscribers for time lost due to problems with the servers.
Maybe if there were problems for several days or weeks they might do something, but delays of several hours like we're seeing here are not unusual and they never offer compensation for it.

I meant time compensation as in you lose 20h of gameplay, the ESO subscription is extended by that much.
It worked like that on another mmo i was playing, so that is why i asked if here they add the time back.

✭For me subscription for a year is 125 euro. A single year has 8.766 hours (okay technically it's 8.765 and a hell of a lot of decimals but I rounded up okay). With a quick bit of math that's 0.0142 euro per hour or 1.42 cent. The game was supposed to go up at 1 pm my time but wasn't up until around 5 pm, that's four hours longer than calculated.
I mean I guess they could return me the 5.68 cent that I "lost" on that extra downtime but considering that the cost in administration would be vastly over the amount returned, I'd personally rather they didn't.0 -
Nanfoodle✭✭✭✭✭Since patch 25, my wife and I have not been able to do Cyrodiil because of performance problems. We still subbing and our sub is up in May. We have decided to keep paying our sub but I would love to see some head nod to their customers. I would love to see my rest exp maxed out and get a few days added to my sub as well. Maybe a small in game gift, like a pet or a crown crate. Just my two cents,0 -

WoW had more then one dark time in their years past 2004 launch that was bad but they always did something for customers affected. Rift did the same. Zeni does not even need to do something that will cost them money. Maxing out enlightenment or handing out ingame items. A head nod goes a long way to helping people stay loyal.0 -

MEBengalsFan2001✭✭✭✭✭Unless you are unable to play the game for an extended period of time do from the developer error there should be zero compensation. Extended time is anything greater than 5 days of not being able to play. I played DCUO and I was unable to play that game for 3 weeks and received minimal compensation. In fact, what I received was so bad that anyone who was FREE at the time received a better compensation than those of us who were subbing at that time. To put it in prospective in ESO terms got around 100 crown for not being able to play for 3 weeks and free players without subs got 2 weeks as sub accounts.
What would be nice is if the developers provided us the daily awards for free and add those directly into the first character we log into the next time we can log into the game. If it takes 6 days or more, each day we are locked out we should receive 100 crowns as a thank you for your patience as we resolve this.Edited by MEBengalsFan2001 on April 27, 2020 4:38PM0 -

Whether OP deserves compensation or not is irrelevant. When we accepted the licence contract to play the game, we accepted that ZOS has no obligation to provide access to the server.
Is that complete *** ? Yes it is. But legally they don't have to compensate us for anything, because we agreed to it. Now, whether that clause is abusive or not isn't for me to tell, I know a thing or twelve about laws, but not US laws, and not commercial stuff anyway. The fact is, without a lawsuit, you won't get anything from them unless they decide to be generous.
There has been no such case of generosity in the past 5 years, AFAIK.Edited by Uryel on April 27, 2020 4:59PM0
