I can confirm that the performance of PC NA server is much better.
I'm leveling a new character on PC NA since a few days ago... It is really fun!
Starting all over again isn't easy but it has its rewards...

Ignis_Irae✭✭✭here is test to real conection time for ESO SERVERS. pls check few times during few days u will see we have serious problem in EU server conetion time and answers. and in NA is ususaly 300-400 iv got even 200ms average. on EU we usualy have CONNNEEEECCCTTTTIIINNNNGG (means 999+ ) maybe we have to reanme subscribtion from Eso plus to ESO 999+)))

That would be the worst trade deal in the history of trade deals, maybe ever.
First, if we would all get merged there, it would be laggy just the same.
Second, I'm not going to pay the sub to play with transatlantic ping, regardless how "good" it is.
Third, Bethesda is not poor Indie company with $14.50 monthly budget for server with "I rent Servers" hosting company in someones basement. It is a AAA very monetized title, they could finally put the money where all the talk is and step up a bit.

Ignis_Irae✭✭✭that why i put this link to ESo EU/NA servers Ping. u all now can test both by yourselves. i have chars on both NA and Eu and it is not realy true the ping is huge. it is about 200 to 400ms to Na from EUrope but game is sooth even on cyro. what for ping on eso claims i have 110ms in Eu server if i have real 2-3 seconds latency from click to real answer from server when i do cast a spell in Cyro? means procesor and memory is .... ( there is no nice word for it). of agree if we all go to NA it will crash too. and maybe bethy have to do something at last to their servers.
i have funny ask. maybe zos open 4th faction in Eu cyro and they will see dc/ep/ad all will fight with zos faction near their base)))))))))))))) i and 60%of my frinds cancel our subs as a protest for such a Behaviour of Game operator. u do what u think . but ESO is great game we can save it if we force our ZOs and bethy companies to do something useful. 0 -

I'm not able to see 198.20.*.* IPv4 range allocated for Germany geographically, but I can see it allocated for US.
This is Germany (in that close allocation range):
198.16.109.0 >> 198.16.109.255
198.22.51.0 >> 198.22.51.255
So there is no range between 198.20 until 198.22 which passed 198.20 range
US geographically reserved range is there, so 198.20.*.* fits:
198.20.192.0 >> 198.21.20.255
So yeah, IDK... maybe we are on US server already from start lol.

If so, it would make sense why everything seems slow? I’m living an hour and a half from the German border, some 650 km from Frankfurt, but if my commands needs to travel half way around the world, times two, it all makes sense?
Wonder if our Australian comrades are taking the other way around, cross Asia and then back to Europe through UK.
Does it even work that way?

This is wrong. That is the IP for the NA server, not EU. Per the ESO help page:HOW DO I DO A PATHPING AND TRACERT TO THE SERVERS TO TEST MY CONNECTION? Updated 11/26/2018 03:30 PM The ip address is 195.122.154.1 for EU and 198.20.198.110 for US.

That is not how the megaservers work. Each platform has a megaserver. That means PC-NA, PC-EU, PS4-NA, PS4-EU, XBOX-NA, XBOX-EU are megaservers. What the megaserver technology does is tat it dynamically instances zones and other areas depending on population. In other games, to prevent overcrowding, players would have to choose a server and stick to that server, so there might be a dozen servers for NA and another dozen for EU. ESO has one server per platform, and can create additional copies of a zone to allow for more players without overcrowding. This is why when you group with someone in the same zone as you, you sometimes get a message that they are in a different instance and you are offered the chance to travel to them. If you don't, you can be grouped with someone and they are invisible to you (and you to them) while apparently standing in the same spot.
This isn't to say that the megaserver isn't responsible for some of the issues we experience. But it is NOT because every player on every platform is somehow connecting to a single server.Edited by daemonios on April 6, 2020 9:25AM1 -

As someone who has been playing on na for a year, and prior to that, eu, your definition of abysmal is rather different to mine.1
