✭Just happened to me, I was finally doing the Argonian settlement quest in Grahtwood and got kicked out. Launcher no longer accepts my password either.

Same happened to me , I freaked out. Thought I was being hacked. Changed my password ASAP tried to login and cannot. Also suspended from the site. WTF really?? its a long holiday weekend.... EMERGENCY FIX NOW PLS & TY

Was worried that maybe my account was being hacked because ya know, everyone in my guild knows my login. Anyways seeing so many others affected as well makes me think it was a automated ban script gone rogue or poorly written.
Annoyed, hopefully it'll be resolved in a timely fashion.0 -

that's true but maybe we can get some sort of official notice that it's a bug or a mistake, i know damn well i haven't done anything wrong, and yet here i am, banned for no reason.

✭I'm a friend of the OP.
He was in Wayrest bank EU, had been running around the zone. Whether or not you choose to believe him or me doesn't matter, fact is he hasn't been duping he's not in a guild with a bank so couldn't have been.

Unlikely. I haven't duped items, nor have I purchased anything from anybody that could possibly have been a duped item, I've just been playing / harvesting / questing on my own.

I can honestly say I did not spam or dupe items or in any way help others do that.
Where can I open a ticket?

Hopefully they'll fix this soon, seeing as it's in the middle of the Easter vacation for me.

Ohioastro✭✭✭✭Isn't this thread just the flipside of the numerous other threads demanding that they take quick action against bots and cheaters? Detecting bots is not 100%, and if you demand that is 100% you're ensuring that the bots will not be found. It stinks if you get swept up by mistake, but you can't both demand swift action and 100% accuracy.
So the thing to do is to document what you were doing and then let them fix their filters so they have fewer false positives.1 -

Fixing gold spammers and bots need not be a panicked or crash issue, it’s not like they did not know this was going to happen is it? Run the game and don’t penalize your paying customers.0 -

It's done several ways, but in this case it involved guild banks and it just means they take an item and after cheating, there are two and then just keep doing it.

An item duped, is a duplicate of a certain item.
Sometimes ( pretty often ) in new MMOs mechanics sneak in where it is possible to copy some of your stuff, and then some people take advantage of this to get lots of the best stuff, sell it earn lots of gold etc etc.
This was even done way way way back in 1997 on the MUD I was playing on
