Yesterday, we identified an item duping bug in ESO that some players chose to exploit. We acted quickly, and have since fixed the issue. We have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to abusing exploitable bugs, and those who were found doing so have has their game account permanently banned.

We want to thank everyone who reported this issue to us. In the future, should you identify what you think could be an exploitable bug, please send it to us in-game via /help or in our help center: https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/app/ask

What you actually plan on doing about the flooded market?

Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

Seems that the ZOS official who replied on first page deleted the post, and the link he provided is also deleted.
    http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/81473/notice-guild-banks-disabled

Would be nice to have an official answer about that. From EULA its clearly stated that exploited game is an EULA breach, will they tell the community that the said peopl ehave been dealt with accordingly, or just delete previously posted information like it was done here? I understand the information in the post wasnt valid anymore, but an edit or update would have beenappreciated.

A rollback isn't an option, would do more damage than good, the amount of players that would quit...

They do have ways to track players how much gold a player has and what players have in their banks etc...

Its very simple to be honest they just need to run a script to check for an amount of gold lets say anything over 250k would flag that account.
    Same with Mats etc etc

Now once that account gets flag their are records kept in game already.
Look at your Guild History Tab.
Shows who deposited what who takes out what.

Same With the Guild Store shows who Sells what to who for what amount...

It will take some Man Hours at that point but it should not be hard once they get the accounts flagged.

All I can say Is I am happy I turned off Withdraw from our Guild Bank some time ago...

Many MMO's have had a Dupe problem in the past the one I recall was SWG back in the day when it was said that kind of the same thing with the maintenance on guild House where folks could do the same thing as here...
They did come out and say they banned folks. And also suspended some others that turned them self's in..
I hate to say the word WOW but they also had a problem and again they came out and said folks were banned from that also a long time ago.

I will say that these folks once they get it figured out and the job done will announce that accounts were banned from this Dupe also.

It always a good way to save some Face on these matters and to let the players know they are working to stop this.
They already Announced that they have Banned Thousands of account already here a week or two ago...

Believe it or not, with the exploit gone and many of the item gone from the bannings, the economy with settle down again as you can't sell something for a high price if people no longer have the money for it.

Like when they fixed the d3 auction house gold dupe, it's not like billions were smuggled onto other accounts, right? the economy never recovered despite blizzard ensuring everyone that they banned the people that abused it.

Yes punish everyone for something a few did and with something that will work itself out over time. Sounds great. I guarantee that will *** off more people, causing them to quit, than this fixed exploit does now.

Neverwinter did a small rollback (day or two) and that caused a lot of people to quit and that is a free game.

I just don't get all the whining and bellyaching. So some people got stuff you don't. I don't like the idea of duping and cheating, but it happens because people are greedy stupid animals. Demanding ZOS throw everything out because a relative minority did this is just plain silly.

    A) Every game has these issues occasionally. I have seen them crop up in well established games after expansions or item updates. Sometimes it takes longer to identify and fix than others. It always works itself out. The economy is not permanently damaged and the duped gear becomes undesirable as soon as the next tier becomes available. Give it time. There is little to no economy in this game right now anyway.

    B) Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the ability to wear a piece of gear level based? So everybody is going on about people wearing gear suitable to their level. Maybe there are more than should be, but still, what is stopping you from getting the stuff to make your own? Obviously it is only unfair if you can actually wear it but somehow other players are blocking you from getting it. And how do you react to people who have earned the gear legitimately, or do you just assume that because they have it they must have cheated?

    C) What the heck is wrong with people that get mad because somebody has something they don't in a computer game? You will either get to the same point eventually or you don't have part of the skill set to do so. (Sorry, not everybody deserves a prize for participation.) It's not a big deal - either practice and get good enough to get the stuff yourself or find an entertainment that matches your particular skill set. It's not the devs job to make sure you are always on par with everybody else.

As a side note, I have three characters - one level 10 and two level 11. Everything they are wearing I made or looted in a level appropriate dungeon. My materials were all either harvested by myself or broken down from items I looted. In now way do I care if somebody is wearing something they got from duping. I hope these bugs are fixed and the issue resolved but in no way does it detract from my game play and after reading through all this I have yet to see how it actually detracts from anybody else's game play.
