What’s your most dreaded area to do quests?

For me it's not about the location.

Whether or not I enjoy storytelling in a zone depends entirely on the presence and behavior of other players. And the worst offenders for this by far are the "players" who aren't players at all - they are BOTS. Consequently, I dread doing quests in any area where bots are a known and reoccurring problem. The starter islands are often bot central due to the fast respawn time on resource nodes. There are also some other spots here and there in the base game that are regular haunts for these "players." There's nothing that rips me out of my storytelling worse than running into groups of bots. I usually quit or skip the area entirely, and if I'd seen botting like this when I first started playing, I wouldn't have stuck with the game like I have.

Secondarily, I also really hate questing in areas where players are being disruptive. This most commonly occurs in "farming" areas. I like the Alik'r Desert... except for the fact that it has both a botting problem and disruptive players so I end up disliking it overall. There's also this "bear farm" that utterly ruins one of the quests in that area and I never look forward to doing that quest now because of that.

    Love Mirkmire. Think it beautiful.
    Shadowfen has too many crocodiles.

    Dislike Coldharbour immensely.

And Malabal Tor, but thats more for the story than the zone.

Probably Northern Elsweyr... you know the NPC in the Stiches who says 'Mind your steps in the Stiches...', well, despite his warnings, I still fall to my death every time I have to pass through there, as well as other places in the zone. Doesn't help that I usually forget to refresh my food buff when doing overland stuff

    Glenumbra.
It has mind-numbingly boring landscape, it's raining 150% of the time, and it's just a tedious slog through a particularly uninteresting storyline.

Shadowfen. Hands down worst place. Crocodiles that are like bounty hunters and never stop chasing you. One sec you’re on your horse riding and the next ? Swimming for 3 feet. Still haven’t motivated myself to go hunting shards in there.

Malabal Tor. I got tired of Valenwood about halfway through Greenshade and wasn't keen on another whole zone of it, and the violent and possessive former lover story was a struggle to get through... I don't know if it was intended to give this vibe, but while doing the quests it felt like I was supposed to feel sympathy for what the Hound had become? But I had absolutely none to give and it was overall just really uncomfortable. The navigation is also terrible.

Shadowfen. Aside from the dreariness of the swamp, my first character (pre-1T) really struggled in this zone. The density of enemies in Shadowfen has always seemed high compared to other zones.

Not crazy about Murkmire, either. Must be something about swamps...

It really, really does seem that way. Plus I swear crocodiles have a higher aggro range than anything else.
And that one wayshrine. I still go up the wrong ramp way too often.

Coldharbour. The zone’s particular shade of blue triggers my migraines so I have to mess with the contrast to even BE in the zone for a lengthy amount of time. The quests are linear and boring, when they aren’t janky and extra prone to breaking. Then there are the puzzles, oh Divines the puzzles. (special shout-out to the Lightless Oubliette *barfs*)

The poor Argonian zones get so much hate - I loved both Shadowfen and Murkmire :( different strokes, I suppose.

Those are me 2 favorite zones btw... (I guess it is a matter of personal preferences).
I agree, there are easier zones to navigate, but at the same time there are worse - like Wrothgar or Elsweyr with clifs and sudden drops that will get you killed.
But once you will kinda know how to traverse the zone it suddenly becomes gorgeous. Also I kinda "like" that not many people like those zones. Less lag and less toxiticy in zone chat ;)

Murkmire just needs another wayshrine in the central Northern area.

You get used to Northern Elsweyr - but, until you do, it's hard to get to things.

Again, there is a lack of wayshrines, although if you placed them everywhere, it would be port>fight dragon>port>fight dragon with hardly any running to break it up a bit.

Parts of Southern Elsweyr are a bit like that, too.

Reaper's March was one I didn't like, when I first played.

I like the look of area (as I do the other areas I have mentioned), I just didn't like that you are herded around it, in a circle and can't go directly across it, from West to East.

Parts of Vvardenfell are also annoying, as are parts of Stonefalls.

Basically, the issue is invariably inaccessible/untraversable areas, often in the middle of the map (mountains, volcanoes etc.).

Not that I don't want mountains/volcanoes, for the look of them, but they do make navigating harder, unless you stick to the roads.

I love Shadowfen because it is what it is supposed to be: a dangerous swamp.

I hate all of Valenwood because it looks disappointing. It is not colorful enough, I expected more and different plants. AD starts so great with Auridon which is utterly amazing. Valenwood needs a revamp. It doesn’t feel like a wood and definitely not like tamriel’s garden. I just hate it.
I also hate the zones in Skyrim because they are not interesting at all.

    Pact > Dominion > Covenant
Basically because the pact is really diverse. The dominion has Auridon and the covenant is just ugly, wayrest being the exception.

Oh yes. That quest. I either save it for last or do it first to get it out of the way. Love Coldharbour but that quest is like sandpaper to my eye balls.

Definitely agree on the Valenwood part. The only thing I dislike about them is that they are so disappointing. Elsweyr looks more like jungles now than Valenwood!
