Who is the Leecher?

I got accused of leeching telvar from a pve player because i killed a boss when he had got him to 15%hp. Yet, i had been in IC for a few hours working my a** off to drive away enemies and make all flags blue.

So i went to memorial district and killed "his" boss because he had already killed the arena one. So this is a question for pve players and pvp players alike, WHO IS REALLY THE LEECHER!!? 😁

The reason you got called a leech is because Tel Var is split between all the players who attack the enemy. When you came in to help with the kill, you got half the Tel Var without, from the other player's perspective, doing half the work.

Its all about perspective. Its not like the other player knows you from Adam.

Nor does complaining about the other player on the forums get you anything more than Tel Var you already got. So why does it matter?

Switch to a character on another alliance, go back and kill .. ermmm.. I mean “leech” the other player for Telvar. Give them something to really cry about.

It doesnt really matter to me, i am just genuinely curious about peoples opinion on it 🤷‍♂️
Personally i think No one owns any boss at all 😂 but i have to admit, it is a bit demotivating to pvp for your faction there when all u get as a thanks is greed and hate 😂

You don't know how long it took them to kill it or how much effort was required of them. May have been more difficult for them to collect than it is for you etc... Just ask yourself how you'd feel if the roles were reversed. And if you'd still feel the same way, you're probly just an 🍆

If its not instanced, its not yours alone simple as that.

The person can't expect that everything is theirs alone in the open world, they should be thankful it was not enemy players that showed up at the last moment and killed them along with the boss.

The city is in anarchy. There are no rules of etiquette here, because it's kill or be killed.
Shortly after the formation of the Ebonheart Pact, a Nord woman was given a tour of the Tribunal Temple. When later asked about the experience, she seemed upset. Suffice to say, the Dunmer were not pleased to hear this, and thus they inquired further.
"Well," the Nord frowned, "the priests were very angry and unwelcoming. They kept shouting things at me like "you can't drink that mead in here!" and "somebody stop her, she's running naked!" and "we can't catch her; she's covered in grease!""

You were definitely the leecher. Taking flags is useful but very easy. Fighting the boss is doing all the hard work. If you did that to me I'd give you a warning. If you did that again I'd log into my alt on a different alliance and kill you.

Clearly it's all pvp players in the zone - they're 'leeching' telvar off the PvE players they kill, who actually generated the telvar.

Being constantly outnumbered by enemy players for hours makes catching flags hard, but yeah if there were no enemy players at all then i get that ☺️

It's kind of a d-bag move to come in and "help" with bosses that are already practically dead, no matter where in the game you are. It always comes off as cheap and lazy.

Of course, I'm not saying you aren't entitled to do as you like. Just that, you know, it's a contributing factor to why trying to go into Imperial City and do anything productive just isn't worth it to so many players.

I had a similar experience, some players have some bizarre assumption that they have the rights to the enemies and think no one is allowed to kill them if they are there.

It's that guy's fault for not hiding the boss well enough and not having the damage to kill it before you arrived.
This Bosmer was tortured to death. There is nothing left to be done.

True, but its also a d-bag move to let others pvp for hours so you can come later when its possible to farm, and then claim all the bosses as "yours" and try hide with the bosses so no one finds their bodies, imo.
I used to be a pve player before so i understand your perspective as well.
All in all the telvar is for everyone at the end of the day ☺️

Imperial City is public domain. The bosses are public domain. They are meant to be killed by more than one person at a time. You joined in on a boss fight exactly as the game intends. He does not own the bosses. He does not own Imperial City. He does not even own his character or account according to the TOS. He may not even own his own house if he's renting it. He probably doesn't even own his car...there's a lot of things in this world this guy probably thinks he owns that he doesn't really "own" at all.

In other words, you were perfectly within your rights to join in on the boss fight and regardless of whether or not he had been fighting it for a long time, it isn't leeching. The game is -meant- to be played that way. I don't consider him a leech for doing what he did either, however I do think he's pretty self entitled.

Players are easy, even more so when they outnumber you. NPC bosses with predictable attack patterns and movements are always more challenging. /s

My guess is that the person made an assumption and stated it as though it was a fact.

Since mobs are able to be attacked by any and every player at any given moment.
It is more of a case how badly did you just hurt their interwebz iEgo and battered their personal ego.
You were definitely the leecher. Taking flags is useful but very easy. Fighting the boss is doing all the hard work. If you did that to me I'd give you a warning. If you did that again I'd log into my alt on a different alliance and kill you.

Case in point here ^ It is clear, in their own mind, it is seen as a personal attack, so much of a personal attack against their ego they literally felt it physically (they physically felt pain from it) - they would probably file a report with their local law enforcement claiming it as an assault and attempt to seek legal council if given the chances.

So in the future, you have to be mindful of these types as to not hurt their feelings or indirectly embarrass them, privately or publicly- even if by accident; like tossing a random heal to keep then from dying.
    Yes this is Sarcasm.

So next time, ensure you send out a whisper, say and zone asking if you can join in or if they need help, and if they berate, belittle or degrade for asking, give no response, or decline, join in anyways. Cause, mobs are able to be attacked by any and every player at any given moment.

    Just a thought on it.
