ESO logs - violates our rights !!!

Eso logs violates our rights, just think about players, who plays not by alcast builds, but base on their own. Why every one can just look your gear, skills and etc even if you are anonim ?

Remove the function to see other peoples skills and gear !!! Why others see skills on my panel, that i may be do not use in this fight ? It is cheating software ! I do not care if ZOS can see any information, but why some bad playing dude say me anonim27 - why do you have this skill on back bare ? Why do you wear this gear ? Why not some alcast standart zaan+mothersorrow+false god on all his builds.

Why do others get any of my privat information ?

That they can not get by any ways put in game. It is cheating software !!!

I do not care that even they can see my heal and dps information, but why my build can be explored ? Why do they see it even on anonimus ?

I do not want any other player have any privat information about me, only if i want give it to them.

Everyone understands if you need to use crafted sets until you get something better. It will be okay.

Edit: I did the same thing. And I still have a few old pieces (hundings/julianos/torugs) in the bank just in case.

Because this is ZOS' world and you're just living in it. You agree to the TOS when you play, and those are laid out so that eso logs are okay. You own none of the information in it, including your build setup. What ZOS does with it is their perogative.

Your options are basically "I agree with the rules of ZOS and will play" and "I don't agree with these rules so I won't play".

Well, private is a nuanced term. Read the agreement we all had to click on, and decide if any of the game's assets are yours at all.

ESO logs does not give anybody your private information. It gives them public information. Infomation that ZOS owns. So yes, of course it's legal. They're not giving out any information related to your person, it's all in-game items and statistics associated with your account.
Cheating would be if people could use it in PVP to check your gear... as it stands, it gives no one specific person an advantage over anyone.

I don't know about "cheating", but if they are harassing you based on information from it, then report them for harassment.
For the moment I think that's the best you can do.
You can set yourself to "Appear Anonymously", but if no one else is anonymous, guess who that anonymous person is. So we can't really count on anonymity at all.

default option is you are anonyomous and no one knows what your logs are. as long as thats a thing its ok.

Would be real nice if ZOS actually addressed some of the massive balance issues which destroy build freedom in the game though.

Why do we have the ability to choose our own builds, if the "Correct" Choices for endgame content are so slim?

Well, we may click on the "agreement" because we've been playing the game for years, but that doesn't mean we have to pretend being fed crap tastes like sugar. ZOS may own the information and have every legal right to do what they want, but it's pretty low-ball BS to allow it to be publicly posted. What's so damn objectionable about giving players right to opt completely out of these logs if they so choose? There are a lot of people who don't like their inability at some game metric being a point of ridicule. But one thing about ZOS, they could never be accused caring how people feel about anything.

It is reasonable for group leaders to use various statistics to assess how well their group is doing in the content they are playing in. If used to offer constructive suggestions (use certain items/abilities in certain content) then I believe it's fair game. But belittling you as a person for having off meta character builds should be off limits, and is called harassment.

It would indeed be nice if sharing stats would be optional instead of just anonymous (if 11 players out of a 12 person group share, anonymity goes down the drain...).

It's not personal data though, so I don't know if there would be any "legal case". However, claiming ZOS can make one share game data with other random people sound... dubious.

If U dont want people to see that, the dont play with people who use logs... thats about it. Logs were a great introduction for this game and have been used by other games like wow for many years.

OP, you seem to be a bit paranoid about your "breastplate of eternal uberness". I think it's a non-existing problem. Noone cares about your gear in PUG's, random normals or pledges. Most of the time, there isn't even a log being recorded. In those situations, all that matters is whether your performance is ok or not.
Now as soon as you join a progress group, it's a different story. There is no "anonimus" anymore, because in those groups, it's all about optimization and efficiency and people are looking for every little detail that might help. And if suboptimal gear or a meme build is a disadvantage, then it needs to be addressed. If you don't like that, don't join a progress group.

A lot of games allow you to inspect other players. This is not cheating. Relax. Most people don't care what you wear or how you play. Ignore the ones who do. There are always those types of players in every game.

While I agree, that some players like to give unwanted or stupid build advices to random people, eso logs is a great tool. It can be of great help in improving your perfomance, as well as determine who is at fault, is a group gets wiped several times in a row) And ofc, you do not own a single pixel of your character, you are just given temporary access to the game, nothing more.

My build was already stolen 2 times from somy pugs, they than tell me that it is trash, becouse thay can not play correct in it. Is it normal ?

PS and Xbox players even do not have such problems, why all this garbage fall in PC players?

Yes. Because some people are a-holes. That's why you report them for harassment and put them on ignore.
I think this is the real issue, instead of "legality" and "privacy".
And people can be a-holes about all sorts of things, not just what you are wearing.

A lot of games does, but this does not !

And in games that does - this is only one choise of gear , based on donation and some 1 top dunguans.

Remove this option, make one more anonim, where gear is not visible or better, remove option to see other peoples gear !!!

I always assumed that ESOLogs simply recorded your DPS in instanced situations, I didn't realize it recorded your gear and bar setup.

Not that I really mind, but it does seem like your DPS (or healing) is the only germane data point in a raid, it doesn't really matter how you achieve it.

I agree with your stance on the narrow option of high-end end-game builds. I've sometimes wondered if they should nerf the default Critical Damage bonus to 1.25x down from 1.5x in order to make stacking Critical Chance and Damage less obvious.

Or take the opposite route and increase the Weapon/Spell Damage set values by 25% and see what happens.

Skills instant cast with block was concidered as bug and removed.

Some skills were buged for years and get fixed.

I hope that this option will be removed , becouse it gives more information about players than game does and it is cheating !!!

Ironically, even before ESOLogs, players with enough situational awareness above a marble could figure out builds based on ones rotations, skill usage and certain procs / buffs gear provided. CP being the real challenge, but can be worked around to fit their style. So... in the end "your build" would have been "stolen" either way if it seemed that interesting to someone.

So... ultimately, non issue. (Well except for the angry whispers, just report, ignore and move on.)
