But why would you use a chest for housing items if you can use a house itself to store them (Grand Psijic Villa in my case)?
Though I wouldn't mind extra chests myself.
Would really just like the chests content to be available for placing while in housing editor.
Unless I am missing something, I have to move items from the chest to bank in order to place them.

I have two chests full of furnishings in my house and can access them from the housing editor without any problems.

I would like enough storage for maps and surveys. They pile up quick! Would be nice to have a chest for each single zone. Then I could put a chest in a home in every zone, and only have that area's maps handy for when I can do them.

They've stated before the issue with a "Furniture Bag" is the sheer amount of unique IDs stored per player. There are around 5000 furnishings in the game right now so it's a dramatically different amount from what craftbag currently has to store.
A storage chest per Zone DLC/Chapter is what I've wanted for awhile, a 30 slot per zone DLC and a 60 slot per chapter. This gives us an extra 90 slots on average per year to store stuff in; though we'd have to retroactively go back and include Murkmire/Summerset/Elsweyr/S. Elsweyr currently.
