Just yesterday or maybe the day before, there was someone in zone chat making tired old jokes about women not being able to drive.
But that's not super common and probably less common than offensive zone chat targeting other groups. No other example of sexism springs immediately to mind.so tonight, rather a rather hostile player has verbally insulted me because I'm apparently sexist for making a reference to the '*sigh* not another distraction' some npcs will say.
Could you explain what you mean by this "the '*sigh* not another distraction' some npcs will say"?
Pc EU, no cp late night zone chat is rife with sexist, homophobic, and often anti Semitic comments. Have reported often, and zero has been done.
LOL. Some people will blow any comment way out of proportion, especially if they're a SJW on top of it. Just ignore and move on, can't say I've ever really had any issues with sexism other then little stuff one would normally expect in any MMO with so many people of varying views, values, beliefs, ect....
Better a sjw than a sociopath imo.

I thought that was a wierd thing to throw in - SJW. Just blanket instult people. Went from a good comment to wtf.

apparently I'm all that's wrong with eso and I'm a vile plague that doesnt respect women. so, it has gotten me thinking, is sexism in eso as rampant as this person has claimed?
thanks for anyone's input on this matter

That sounds bad and truly not something that should be in a zone chat, or anywhere really. Although, it makes me wonder if you are unlucky or if I'm lucky since I have rarely seen such disciminations in a zone chat. Thinking on it, ESO has been one of the mmos/online games I've played with the least such behavior.
I mostly just see newbies asking questings, people looking for groups, people selling/buying or normal mmo chat discussions, which vary a lot. Think it was late night last week me and some others just started write song lyrics in it since it was so quiet, which has happend to me more than any discrimination. Lionel Richie's Hello is a popular one.

For example, I'm not thrilled by the pair of Lady Laurent and Stibbons, even though I recognize the stereotype of noble buffoon/competent servant they are meant to lampoon. That brand of comedy just doesn't appeal to me.

I stopped so I could swing the screen to see who it was (could have been a friend who was online and in Auridon right then).
It was someone I didn't know, who immediately whispered me with "I'm looking for someone to go dominant on me, and you look like the type." I was a bit startled.... I mean, that character wasn't even somewhat UNdressed, she was fully covered, and some person wants to get into BDSM?
I didn't even reply - just blocked the player, and went on my way. Totally weird. Not nearly as bad as stuff on WoW though....

Disgusting, glad I'm on PC/NA I guess.
Well, for one, a true sociopath wouldn't care enough to be any kind of SJW.
