And you can't kill a simple town guard.
Why the hell do we have to take any risk ? Just send a guard to vSS, gonna get the godslayer easy.

RP wise (not a rp player but a bit of coherence is still welcome) it always bug me..

Yeah, what should happen is if you kill a guard...an army is sent to destroy you.

Yup. We all tried that at some stage when the justice system first came out in 2015.
And no, it doesn't work. If there are enough people, yes we can bring his health down (quicker than he does ours), but when he reaches 1% or something close to zero, he comes back to 100% and we're back to square one. They're literally unkillable.

I'm glad that we finally see an example that this game does not go down the road of casual pampering and remains some hard or endgame content.

@ZOS_GinaBruno Please make sure that the town guard buff makes its way into the next changelog, so that casuals don't complain about the recent changes being a bug, thank you.

I always love when scrubs complain about casual content being catered to casuals. Those of us actually doing difficult content don't lack for a challenge. A new trial, vet DLC and their hardmodes, pvp. It's there when we want it.

If you find those challenging and enjoy them, good for you.

But a lot of people don't play not because they're too hard, but because they're eg. too boring. Or other reasons.

Shortly after the formation of the Ebonheart Pact, a Nord woman was given a tour of the Tribunal Temple. When later asked about the experience, she seemed upset. Suffice to say, the Dunmer were not pleased to hear this, and thus they inquired further.
"Well," the Nord frowned, "the priests were very angry and unwelcoming. They kept shouting things at me like "you can't drink that mead in here!" and "somebody stop her, she's running naked!" and "we can't catch her; she's covered in grease!""

I found that after the update town guards are stronger than before. They have better detection and use alliance war skills to uncover criminals who try to escape them.

Well, this behaviour is not mentioned in the changelog and could be considered a bug.

However, I welcome this change. It widens the gap between casual and professional criminals and grants a dishonest income only to those who put effort to it.

Meridia's Light is the reason you can defeat Molag Bal. You are buffed up 10X. And you only get this after sacrificing one of your Companions, and have in your possession the Amulet of Kings to channel that power. None of these apply outside of that fight.

After that fight is over, you are just a scrub who can self resurrect

the problem with this reasoning is that it makes guards stronger then dragons. because when a group of 12 players can kill a dragon... but can NOT kill a guard? with no meridia's light or anything of that nature involved... it's just silly.

But it's also silly that you can massacre most of the people of Auridon and basically have no consequence anywhere else in the game. People just "forget" that you killed most of a town? <.<

Unkillable guards are a consequence of extreme player behavior that ruins plausible immersion. Even then, they aren't working well enough.

consequence is bounty if you are found. my assumption is that guards are corrupt and can be paid off. that is still immersive enough. guards that are tougher to kill then dragons when attacked by players but fold over immediately when attacked by dragons is just too much of a dissonance.

Proper gameplay is more important then your “immersion”. The game would be an absolute farce if you could just massacre all the guards in a town.

Meh, that sacrifice was so overrated. I hoped to rid myself of that shirtless oaf, but he turned up alive and well in Senchal.

My favorite was in an article on the website that was meant to be written by Abnur Tharn where he refers to him as "the beard that walks like a man".

    Exactly my man.
This is an online gaming where the NPC not only just for you but also for other player. Granted they will spawn but their corpse will linger for a while and sometime you want to talk to NPC just for immersion (not quest NPC) and suddenly a player kill them.

It’s impossible, I think when the guards reach a low enough HP they do some massive high damage AoE which most assuredly kills 95% of people.

I think there was a video on reddit of 30 people attacking a guard who just obliterates them when he gets to 25%.

Try running the Shadowrend set. When you take damage from the guard, the Clannfear will proc and Minor Maim him/her. Same for werewolf pets and Nightblade pets.

Guards should not be using stealth detection. that is literally them making the skills you would use to escape worthless.

They should do more damage, and be able to summon more guards if you dont escape in time, but the use of detection skills is one which I hope is patched out ASAP.

Stealth is busted atm. So they prob could see them anyway. It's almost like the Devs removed critical files or something 😬
Thank you for bringing this up.
I wouldn't say stealth is busted, but it's, in my experience, inconsistent. I spent an hour or so stealing on Monday evening and there were situations where I was detected even though there were no reason for that to happen. Getting back into stealth and/or getting NPCs stopping being aware was convoluted and time consuming.

I wasn't playing a NB, nor did I use potions. This is an area I know very well and have been stealing there without problems for a long time.
The NPCs paths didn't change, my char's behavior only changed after I didn't get the results I'm used to. Stealth felt like a lamp with a defective power cord - it would go on and off for no good reason.
    Linaleah wrote: »

Of course they are! We can intimidate them to let us walk way, and they get so afraid they messed with the wrong person, they tell all the guards in the area to not touch us for a little while. ;P

I think it's time for Terminator mode. First guard who contacts you with a sufficient bounty (I'm thinking 100k) will slowly chase you until you leave that Alliance. To make it more interesting, porting will be disabled in the zone it happens in. Fun, no?

Most of my ingame income is by thievery and pick-pick-stab. Still haven't seen these new details. Kinda disappointed as well. Was hoping for a bit of a challenge. So far nothing as of yet.
