Simple but unbreakable poll. Do we need it? I think it would be a great idea.
Guild, friends, emotes... etc.

    Sounds good, but you chat with the character, not the account. Which is why your chat is not persistent across character logs. Unless you use an addon that makes local logs. Even then, you have to log in to get back into the chat.

    So, good idea, tons of coding.

    Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

    Sounds like a massive coding headache and a feature that offers no real benefit for the effort of development.

    WoW has this and it is terrible. Although new guild system on overall in wow is terrible and people moved to discords.

    Technically in chat you can enable a person's @name to show up so just putting the chat in the character selector screen is okay. Your @name would just show up indicating you hadn't picked a character yet, but due to technical limitations you'd only really be able to do it in /guild and the /officer chats. When you're not logged in you can't do /say, /emote, /yell, /group, and /zone. ((And any other channels I missed))

    would make it easier to coordinate group composition when filling for a group and you may need to switch roles... or allow you to chat with guildies while doing writs and constantly logging on/off without missing half of the convo.

    Nobody said zone chat. xd
    basicly chatting with friend, (you can chat between accounts, not just characters), with guild and you could use emotes in main menu. imagine something like that. :thinking:

    I wanted this os much long ago when I had so much mates to play long ago, I just could wait with so long load screens and character selection to be able to lurk at chat or still writting with someone
    now I dont have this need after so long time where really just few of my mates still is in this game..but still this is good idea after all and not only for me

    Ida is good, you chat from your account anyway.
    However storing chat onto next login has worked just ass well if you want to relog on other character and need to know who needed an tank.
    Grinding just make you go in circles.
    Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

    Pretty much this. Some good ideas are not worth the effort required to implement them.

    Edit: As such the poll is not going to sway Zos. They must make several decisions concerning each idea and one is value vs effort.

    The instant I saw this it was a big yes.

    The amount of time it would save if you were able to discuss what is going on, what help folk may need, what content is being run, without having to load a character in only to find you need to go relog to get involved.

    You are misrepresenting the issue I feel. For many, the entire process of logging in, engaging in chat then relogging to an appropriate character , can take many mintues. Id estimate at least 10 mintues. Its a waste of time.
