Only thing I cannot test is ZOS side of the connection.
Or any of the other factors in between that you're conveniently ignoring for the sake of pinning blame on ZOS.

No... I've been testing this for 2hours now. Many many things, with many different suggestions. I can confidently say it's not on my side or my ISP at all, unless my ISP is throttling ZOS stuff specifically. But that would be something really new since this morning my download speed for the beginning of the patch was fine. I'm sure you read the whole thread, so you saw me saying this already.

Since you got to 15% and the weird way ESO downloads, it sounds like you’ve actually downloaded it already but this is the installation.
Have you had your hard drive read/write speed tested recently? How old is your hard drive?

I know cable inet will split speeds and sometimes one house nearby can hog speeds, anything uploading will slow speeds alot,a node between you and the zos server could be overloaded/bad.I'd try stoping everything, maybe run traceroute and see if there's an issue between somewhere.

Zos is not throttling you. If you think about it then it would not make sense for them to throttle you and not your friends. Why would they single you out?

There is a lot that factors into the speed each of us downloads the game. Ironically, the speed we pay our provider for has nothing to do with it as none of us downloaded the patch near our top speed.

My friends are all in The US or Canada, TBF.

I can't make sense of why speed was fine before, got bad now after servers went back up. I can't make sense if anything anymore, but I can tell for sure my internet connection is fine, aside being 15mbps down only. And if ZOS can't keep everyone at a crawl slow 1.7Mbps(my Max speed) then shame on them because that's a shameful slow speed as it is.

If this isn't routing bandwidth choice by them to improve speeds on more "premium" markets, then surely someone will have a better explanation that doesn't involve saying my internet isn't working on when it clearly is.

I got a 6Mb dsl,and getting 750k/s speeds, but that is max best, gonna take a while>I'll just be doing other things while I wait.I was smart enough to get tickets/strongbox at daily reset incase I wouldn't be on today.

I did it too, but I was hoping to log back in after 15-20h, based on PTS patching . Oh well...

    OP see my previous post.
You said it started fine, I bet ISP throttled you based on torrent, P2P policy.

Also quoting this because this patch download, than apply the patch (writing on the disk, unpacking the image) the download again and so on.

as for zos treating some of their customers as second class, it's a sad reality and i am mad about it as well. :unamused:

Because exchange rates and salaries are not 1/1. I'm literally paying the same as an American if they were paying 60usd on matched purchasing power.

ZOS doesn't give a crap... It's paid fully expensive and it could be cheaper. Other games have it cheaper, zos can do it too.

I don't know where you are from but
exchange rates don't work like that.

I'm from Argentina, as 3rd world as a 3rd world can be, and the game was downloaded in 5 hs aprox. I pay for 50 mb/S.

It was still the download. It could be paused and it said "download" not "applying patch". Hard drive is about 2yo.

The first 20% or so is the actual large file update.

Then it installs the game, and it will speed up significantly.

It might then download some "mini-patches" to complete the installation.

Once you hit that 20%, on a normal, clean install, you're like 80% of the way done with the installation!

No idea on the "throttling", but it could be any number of things causing the connection to be slower, things that may be completely and utterly out of yours, mine, or ZoS's control. Speedtest goes to a close, local server, so if there's an issue, it wouldn't detect that. I'm not at home, but can you force a speedtest to a more remote server? Say one in the US, instead of one in Brazil?

I get some hope from this post, ZOS isnt throttling me, I have been going all night and still only at 9%.

Seeing all my friends downloading the game at full freaking speed while I have to see my download throttle to 200KB/s when it can go up to 1.7MB/s...

That's 1/8 if my top speed, that's already SUPER slow... Why am I being throttled? Because I'm not in the US? Second class consumer? I'm paying 62 bucks a month for this piece of software. Not 15. Take that into consideration and tell me why my downloads are so slow? My launcher has been opened all day and it's just now at 15%!

I've used speedtest on multiple devices to check my speed and everything is ok on my isp side. On my friends in the US, all is good too, so it's definitely your poopy service that's at fault, ZOS. I'm paying an excruciatingly expensive monthly bill to play this game. What kind of service is this?

Don't give me "server load" bs because, like I said, all my friends in the US are having it full speed, some even ten times as fast or more than my Max speed, let alone my currently throttled speed.

This is a shame, it's frustrating and disgusting.

Yea and divide those 50mb/s by 8 and thats your dowload speed.

Yeah, that's 3x the speed I have, and that's 3x as far as I was hoping (15-20h as stated before). Compatible.

The exchange rate is just a display of how obnoxiously expensive it makes the game for me, and I know the kind of stuff you have in your country, we're neighbors and I have visited you, and your exchange rate is even worse than mine by much!, but I don't know about your salaries, so I can't really say anything about purchasing power. Seeing what I've seen in Buenos Aires, you and I are twins in that regard. Sadly.
