Absolute garbage treatment from ZOS...

Seeing all my friends downloading the game at full freaking speed while I have to see my download throttle to 200KB/s when it can go up to 1.7MB/s...

That's 1/8 if my top speed, that's already SUPER slow... Why am I being throttled? Because I'm not in the US? Second class consumer? I'm paying 62 bucks a month for this piece of software. Not 15. Take that into consideration and tell me why my downloads are so slow? My launcher has been opened all day and it's just now at 15%!

I've used speedtest on multiple devices to check my speed and everything is ok on my isp side. On my friends in the US, all is good too, so it's definitely your poopy service that's at fault, ZOS. I'm paying an excruciatingly expensive monthly bill to play this game. What kind of service is this?

Don't give me "server load" bs because, like I said, all my friends in the US are having it full speed, some even ten times as fast or more than my Max speed, let alone my currently throttled speed.

This is a shame, it's frustrating and disgusting.

There are basically innumerable reasons on why your internet speed is not performing to it's maximum capacity. One of the biggest "unknown" reasons is if you have a splitter in your house, it halves your Internet speed. Your ISP could be experiencing issues or overload. Other use in your household. Interference from weather. Etc.

I'm by no means IT savvy but I know that Internet Max Speed rarely ever means you'll actually hit that speed because there are just so many factors that can slow it down.

Did you even read the post? O.o my speed is slow by default, but right now ONLY WITHIN THE LAUNCHER, it's about 1/8 of what it normally is.

Currently sitting at 38.x during the download right now (which is what? 30k times faster than your max speed?). Sometimes it'll jump up significantly, sometimes it'll drop significantly during the download depending on the current content being downloaded. Complex data takes longer. The ITs would have a better explanation than I can offer.

ZOS doesn't give a crap... It's paid fully expensive and it could be cheaper. Other games have it cheaper, zos can do it too.

Have you checked your launcher settings to make sure your download speed isn't capped?

I'm in EU on 150 Mbps which is 18.75 MB/s and on average I was doing 17.5 MB/s.
What damn throttling, I bet we were not even downloading from US but from EU data-center server.
Check you ISP, Torrents running in background, God knows what was throttling you.

I work in the Internet sales industry. Just so you know unless you have a business grade DEDICATED connection your speeds are not guaranteed, and you are at the mercy of your provider’s “best effort.”

Assuming you are in Europe that means you are currently right now in prime time. The reason your download is slow is because your neighbors are also home and you are on the same best effort connection.

It’s 2 PM eastern standard time. I’m probably pulling 200M+ right now. After 5PM it’s common to see that speed cut in half and I live in Voorhees, NJ which is located near Philly half way in between New York City and Baltimore which is about the fastest place in the world for Internet access.

ZOS has nothing to do with shared, non-dedicated Internet service.

But you see... Even at your slower speeds you're still literally going 20 times fast than I could, and almost 200x faster than I am... And that's with your 38mb.s, not the 100. See my point? I get they have heavy loads, but why unlock 38 for you and 0.2 for me when they could, say, unlock 36.5 for you(which would change almost anything) and ubkuck my full speed with would be 8x faster with that 1.5 extra?

Would it hurt you to download at 36.5 instead of 38? Because that would mean taking half a day instead if 1 week downloading for me.

Yes, I have it unlimited. Even then... I'm at literally 1/5 of the slowest speed cap...

I understand you are frustrated. I would be too at that agonizingly slow speed. I would like to know what causes the slowdown, but without having the knowledge of an IT professional, and one that can investigate your specific internet connection, I can only speculate. However, the issue being ZoS is, imo, highly unlikely.

I hope that you'll get the game downloaded soon. I'm playing offline games while waiting for mine to not slow it down too much.

Nothing. I'm IT savvy, I have tools at my disposal to check these things, I'm alone at home, WiFi off, plugged in cable, and nothing else running on PC. I'm even using my phone for forums. Soeedtest suggests my speed is totally non throttled on isp side, like I said. Glasswire doesn't say there's anything else using data on my PC. No updates, no tiger software, anything.

Even more so, earlier today, the speed was fine. It downloaded maybe 15gb before it went down and now it's down since.

Oh and I have no download caps on my isp either.

1.7 mbps? Because if its mbps then yea 200 kilobyte download is about right. A lot of people confuse megabytes with megabits. You neeed 8 mbps to get 1MB/s.

If OP is saying it can go up 1.7MB/s then that means he less than 20mbps and for 64 dollars thats a major rip off.

No... It's 15mb/s, so 1.7MB/S. Current download speed is at 200KB/s.

I live in the US, on the east coast, and I'm having a similar problem- I've been downloading for hours and it's only at 8%. Then again, my game is on steam, and it could be an issue there. But the rest of my internet is fine, and usually my download speed is not this abominable. I'm not really certain whats going on myself, other than that there is incredibly high traffic right now, and while some seem to be downloading quickly, others aren't.

For example, within the same household, one of us was able to download the game within an hour, while I'm still at a crawl. Again, my download speed is never this bad, so not sure what the issue is.

About the OP's problem: I live in Brazil and haven't had much problem this patch. I'm downloading at more or less 8mb/s and I pay for 10mb/s.

Not that big of a problem to afford the 60. I don't have better internet available at my address.

Wouldn't you agree that regardless if salary, 60 dollars monthly would be an abuse? It's not affordability, it's reasonability. If that makes sense.

Oh ok, so you're at 7x my speed right now, that's 15mbos or 1.7MBps.

Clear? My download is now at 200KBps. So about 60 slower than your 12.5MBps.

I hope you understand now. All the rest of my bandwidth is freely available. If I play Netflix in 4k, it goes smoothly, I tested. But after shutting down the movie, speed on launcher doesn't go up.
