Thanks for the terrible maintenance day. My petition for a new day.

Not a complainer in general, but Friday sucks. For me, it's my day off. The kids are at daycare. The wife is at work. Omg, it's the unicorn of free time...8-12AM. I sit down with a cup of coffee getting ready to settle into the game, and there's an effing maintenance message..for the second time this week. On Friday? I know I'm just one guy and no one will give two damns about me, but I know you guys are really ticking off the Aussie players here too...or at least you have to be. It puts it at what...~10PM for them on Friday? Really Zenimax?

This is my request to move the day to something that makes a bit more sense. Mid-week, when people are at work and kids are in school. If this is a consistent day, it would prove to be a bad one in NA, as occasionally you'll have a look for a three day weekend for some people.

Please re-think the maintenance day. I understand you want to prep for the weekend, but do that on Thursday, not Friday.

Tuesday and Thursday should suffice. That also gives them Friday to fix the Thursday patch. ;-)

I can understand the reasoning for a Tue/Fri maint. schedule but I agree Friday is probably not the best time. Perhaps Mon/Thu?

Maintenances are for customer's benefit. Be patient, don't blame Zenimax to fix things you've raged against.

but yeah Friday is a terrible day for Maintenance.. the time isnt great either.. but i survived with that time in WoW for 7 years... i would suggest to have it 5 hours earlier would perfect

and Thursdays instead of Friday

I haven't raged/complained about anything, Zazar. This is my first post here and I haven't complained in game due to my awe and appreciation for the game they have made. I would just like to see them move it around a bit. Monday/Thursday or Tuesday/Thursday would help many folks out, not just me.

It's not the fixing, it's the timing. Today is Good Friday and at least in the USA, it is a holiday for a lot of people. Tue/Thur would be best, because Mon/Fri are the days that holidays tend to fall on.

He didn't rage against the fixes; he pointed out the very real problem of Friday downtime (especially to Aussies) and politely asked Zenimax to consider a different schedule.

Read what the poster actually wrote, not what you assume he wrote.

if you move it to Thursday you need to do Mon thurs. and it seems unlikely they can really do much about Oceania without building a whole extra megaserver.

for some reason this made my morning. It's 4day weekend here for my husband and just happens be one the few days we can play together during daytime. I feel you, but course someone is saying omg yay I'm glad they did it today on not xxx right.

The Good Friday point is something I forgot and entirely emphasizes what my OP is regarding. So many three day weekends out there (especially in the US, we find reasons not to work it seems lol) why put down most of the country today? And one entire continent at peak play times. (Here's to you, Aussie players)

I'm becoming kind of confused on these regularly scheduled maintenance days. Generally, Scheduled means that's it on a standard day of the week chosen and repeated on a weekly basis. Regular means a constant that you can rely on to be constant.

I have not been made aware of any planning, nor that there would be 3 "regular" and "scheduled" maintenances a week.

This kinda worries me too, because each and every one of these maintenences take place directly during my time to play each day they occur. So, as they fix the game up, that's cool, I'm not paying for my sub yet,

however if it's going to be "regularly scheduled" to preform server maintenence 3-4 times a week, directly during my play times, I'll to evaluate whether I can reasonably pay for a sub service that I personally get to use 3 days out of the week.

Which is really crappy reason to have to consider whether to maintain my sub because the game is everything I could have wanted and more.

I really hope they reign this in.

No matter what day of the week or time they choose for maintenance SOMEONE is going to get their jimmies in a rustle about it for whatever excuse.

Having the maintenance on a Saturday would suit me better than any other day of the week, but I won't be making any petitions about it for the exact reason I state above.

This is an MMO, MMOs have maintenance times. Suck it up.

You guys are totally requesting the wrong solution. Its sad how many people have been desensitized to how absurd this industry practice is. I don't play MMO's on a regular basis, so as an outsider this is infuriating.

I posted in another thread, but "maintenance days" where the server is completely shutdown and service is interrupted for hours at a time HAS TO STOP. There must be a solution! I know it will cut into profits, but there should be ZERO that's right ZERO interruptions to the game service except for the occasional oddity (lightning strike, whatever). Hire a smart guy to solve this problem.

Not doing maintenance on a Friday is a massive start

.. moving Maintenance to 3am EDT would be perfect.. only people missing out then are the guys from New Zealand.. but they dont count > >... nah I love you NZ guys but you can handle the 10pm Maint if it was moved to 3amEDT

That was a general comment, I'm so-used to these kind of posts. I'll should have just said "Be comprehensive, be patient. This game is new, those are exceptional maintenances."
