There's a difference between "our game is so good people will buy subscriptions for it"The crafting bag for ESO+ was a smart business decision and thread asking for it as this one is just reinforced how good of a decision to lock the bag behind a subscription really is.
This is very personal and therefore i will not even try to argue with your point of view.Proximity voice chat, no way. What I have learned from playing games that had build in VoIP was people ramble nonsense and that experience was with VoIP that was limited to when you were grouped with them. Had to mute so many people because of their absurd and constant rambling. There is zero need for this on PC because we can join into Discord, TS and other VoIP servers when needed and desired.
I can rarely find the time to complete a full quest before i get drawn away from pc into real life. I have to log back in about 20-30 times on a day because the short afk timer keeps bringing me back to menu, therefore im spammed with the buy screen. Maybe if they show the buy screen only once per day on login would fix it a lot for me?
I do not see monetization spamming. Just one thing once per day when I log in. Easy to look past.
And you like and accept this? because i cannot and will not.
Pretty sure AC is here to stay for a really long time as Zos has double-downed on it by adding skills that pretty much require AC of LAs and sets the encourage weaving LAs. Also, we have arena PvP but we call it BGs. idk, maybe you are not making yourself clear here.
As to you sir, have a nice day.Just my feedback on items I felt it worth commenting on. Have a good day.
Crafting bag - Not arguing or agreeing. Just stating the simple fact that if you want the crafting bag you will have to subscribe for it. If you really find it as frustrating to play without a sub and refuse to subscribe to ESO+ the other option seems to be the clear route to take. Either way Zos is not changing it.
VoIP - I pretty much gave a solid example of the nuisance it is and have not seen it in a top-quality MMORPG. I am not worried though as I doubt Zos will consider adding VoIP to PC/Mac. They would have done it when they added it to consoles.
Monetization spamming - it happens once per day regardless of how many times you log in and out. If you did not log in yesterday you might see it twice since the "day" might start in the middle of your day. Hardly spamming. If you are seeing it every time you log in then something is wrong and you should open a ticket.
AC - I am fine with AC so yes I accept it. I am pleased it is blessed by Zos and here to stay though there are some minor tweaks I would make related to the LA weave itself. I find combat much more lively than in stiff and antiquated games such as SWTOR, WoW, and FF14.
Cheers.

Are you a ZoS employee? how can you tell what future decisions this company holds? i like to believe different and topics like these are eyeopeners to ZoS and will motivate a change. Wether you can personally imagine this or not.Either way Zos is not changing it.
Let me give you a list of top quality mmo's that include this feature:VoIP - I pretty much gave a solid example of the nuisance it is and have not seen it in a top-quality MMORPG. you find combat more lively when your character jitters and fires multiple spells at the same time when it's obviously not designed to work this way? Interesting... but personal so i won't argue. Just know i strongly disagree with your opinion.AC - I am fine with AC so yes I accept it. Idk if you missed it or something, but in a recent video discussing the upcoming blocking changes it looks like they're working to remove it as it isn't a "feature" it's a de-sync exploit, as they literally said.
And I agree, animations are there for a reason... Cancelling them seems just like such a stupid thing to vouch for. Like "ah yes, I don't want to see my ability fire off properly like it's supposed to."
Yeah i get that absolutely, it's a bit of a balancing issue but the majority of the crowd in eso are adults therefore you won't run into a lot of 12 year olds practicing freestyles. It might actually turn out to be very fun considering the playerbase and it's love for roleplaying.relentless_turnip wrote: »Not sure I can get on board with this...
Proximity chat is hell
Just my opinion... I get why you want it though and you make a valid point about immersion. My immersion is kind of ruined when I can hear a 12 year old practising his freestyle in the middle of mournhold.
Yeah i ment the weaving to pull off multiple attacks in one second. I'm aiming on the abuse of the obvious exploit that we all know.relentless_turnip wrote: »In terms of AC what do you actually mean? this is a concept that is available with every action combat system.
The ability to block, dodge etc... when you need to. I personally love the fact I can react immediately to an impending attack and outside of that you are talking about cast times. I don't know if you watched the recent video Gilliam did on the new block system, but he states in that video that block cancelling only ever gave the illusion of a faster attack client side.
Yeah not sure if my argument is valid there appearantly its not supposed to come up everytime you log in, i'm going to try and find out why this is happening.relentless_turnip wrote: »I have played a lot of MMO's and find this game to be one of the most playable without spending money. I did so for 6 months before I deciding that I was committed to this MMO over the rest. I also think a banner once a day(which also reminds you to collect your free log in gift) isn't really pushy.
and i very much appreciate you reading through this wall of text and sharing your opinion about it.relentless_turnip wrote: »I appreciate your thoughts though
And to OP, animation cancelling isn't an issue, it's one of many reasons what makes the combat system of this game unique and enjoyable (at least for me and many others). It's 200% irrelevant if it originally in the development/beta was considered a bug. People have had 6 years to get used to and adapt to it. Animation cancelling isn't and exploit and if ZOS considered it to be one, there would've been actions taken long ago.

Uber uniques - In the lore there's always a weapon or two or an armor or two that is so unique only a few players can get it ever.

TLDR; what we see when we are doing an attack and AC it with block on live is not how in line with what is actually happening. All these updates change is doing is bringing the client in line with the server which is the ultimate authority of what is actually happening.
Again, Zos' words (Gilliam). Not mine.

Correct, but this is not really the exploitation issue i was talking about. My animation canceling issue comes from people fireing off multiple attacks where only one animation is supposed to be played. This is activated usually by weaving light attacks.
It's easy to derail into the blocking AC, but that's not really AC as the dev already mentioned. its a desync issue.
AC is an exploit, it's in this game and being abused heavily in pvp and high end pve.
Anyone who disagrees either participates in it or really doesn't know what hes talking about.
relentless_turnip wrote: »cast a DOT - Cast blast bones(for example)- light attack - spammable
You will then get hit by four sources of damage at once. this isn't an exploit this timing your attacks so they hit at the same time via delayed burst and weaving.

Light attack weaving is something the devs want to stay in the game and specifically endorse in load screen Texts so hardly an exploit.

Right.. because all of the sudden AC no longer excists, and all the youtube clips explaining to newbies how to abuse this exploit are all of the sudden not existing.
I'm completely hallucinating all these things. right..
Sanguinor2 wrote: »
Im afraid you misunderstood. AC does exist as do the YouTube Clips you Mention. It just isnt an exploit.

Try recording what happends on your screen when you do exactly this.
And please let me know what happends to your animations on your character while you are doing this?
(little hint i already know the answer)

Would you perhaps like to classify it as a bug that's being abused?
Or perhaps calling it a design flaw that players use to their advantage sounds more appealing?
relentless_turnip wrote: »Do you believe the 2K damage is an exploit? It is fair enough if you do, I feel I would be more worried about the skills cast rather than the one light attack.
Besides isn't an exploit by definition using the mechanics to cheat? everyone has the ability to light attack, i tend to press it between every skill out of habit, normally to ensure my glyph is active.
I'm not trying to fight with you, but if you don't like the combat why do you play?
I love the combat and combat in a game is a complete deal breaker for me...
