Anti-Bunny hopping Thread

I find people jumping around in combat REALLY annoying, but not once have i felt like it helped them survive against me or prevented me from hitting them. Its just bobbing and weaving. The same effect can be achieved by strafing back and forth really quickly, albeit not as effectively. I dont think it exploits anything. A target that moves a lot is going to be harder to hit. Roll dodging every four seconds is far more more effective.

I've never understood anyone's argument when it comes to the bunny hop. Its not like its a unique ability everyone can do it, you're just looking to punish players that can multitask.

Whats really funny is watching the bunny-hoppers trying so hard to convice everyone that its not an advantage :)

The funny thing is that you can do it too, but just like animation cancelling you and your merry band of casuals would rather dumb everything down in this game instead of getting better. My advice is that if it's so op then you do it, instead of complaining about other people doing it.

Yes there are some that would have a vested interest to derail the discussion/thread by going off topic. This is done by becoming personal, hyperbole, jokes, extension. Fact is bunny hops are a combat mechanic that exploits hit box targetting and provides distance and speed way beyond what would be achieved by sprinting. A simple solution is to make the skills combo that brings about a bunny jump to cost ever increasing stamina (like streak does for sorcs) This has nothing to do with players who spacebar jump for joy and because its fun.

This threads point is that players who are intentionally using the bunny hop combo are getting a free advantage as opposed to block and rolldodge that cost stamina.

I keep hearing people say it's a hit box exploit, but as someone who doesn't jump and have only fought them, I'm not sure how accurate that is.
I've never had a issue hitting someone jumping around. If anything, since you can't turn in the air or change direction, it seems like a massive disadvantage. Can't understand what use it has since I can't think of anyone who'd claim a win or loss because of it. Not to mention it looks ridiculous. The only real use I can see for jumping is that it may help with button timing. But a combat advantage? Sort of seems like the opposite. Never have I had an issue hitting a jumper.

Man how I miss hitting a old Dizzy swing against a jumper! Always looked forward to knocking them way up in the air. Just another reason to miss dizzy!

I had one person tell me (a pvp expert if ever there was one) that its primary use was to maintain speed/movement while changing potions on hotwheel. This is on console btw where you basically have to take thumb off joystick to switch pots.

As far as bunnyhopping, allegedly it actually hels in first person shooters but doesnt actually do anything in eso.

Bunny hopping at a guild event or group outside pvp is a booting offence in my guild.

Although my post will bump this thread, im sure it will die eventually. I doubt ZoS will add a stam cost to jump, though they may try to fix the distance jump, there is no indication that adding a stam cost to jumping is in their agenda or any acknowledgment from them that regular jumping in combat is problematic to all combat situations.

the more we look into this the more we see that there is actually an effect that is being triggered to help them in pvp and possible even being used as a glitch just like animation canceling and an actual exploit happening that the developers should look into.

Got irrtiated Bunny-hoppers in Battlefield2 and still...
If jumping would use stamina it would stop immidiatly. Or if target area of jumper would be larger... That would stop that allways jumping around.

    Hello there,

This post is to let you know that we've felt it necessary to put this thread down, as it seemed to have died some time ago. At this time we'd like to try and keep Draugr threads from roaming around the front page, pushing down newer and more lively threads.

    Thank you for understanding!
