Why wasn't the blastbones magicka morphed fixed in today's patch?

    They should make it either:

    a) The further away you are the more damage it does (so boring though)
    b) after blastbones jumps it deals x damage in 5m radius it also causes one or both of:
    i . Health steal
    ii . Magicka steal
    c) after landing and doing damage it also causes off balance
    d) reduces the cost of your next summon by x %
    e) causes two corpses to drop
    f) slows enemies in 5m radius for 3 seconds

I'm sure ethere are some other interesting ideas as well

Would love for the morph to receive the Warden Birds treatment and proc off balance on the target. That would also address the lack of a reliable class stun in pvp — i.e. 2 birds with 1 stone... Not to mention the new off balance changes (immunity for n secs) should keep this from being too strong.

Dont rush them. Last time they were rushed they came up with silence on incap.

    Don't rush them? Lol what.

Listening to feedback on something that IS. NOT. WORKING. Isn't rushing. Also, coming up with an alternative magicka morph effect would take very, very little effort. Or heck, in the code they literally could just swap around distance ran to distance leaped. Boom, fixed.

Actually I think You're making it to look way easier then it is in reality. They've just released improved leap mechanic to blastbones and we need to test is that even working properly because as far as they can make some test players will be always more inventive and creative in testing skills then devs are simply because players are spending way more time using those skills then devs. So there is like a week or two for devs to analyze thedata from PTS about new leap mechanic. Then if leap will turn out to work properly they have to figure out what that change to the morph would actually be and it's not like they'll make special meeting just for that or that this is the only thing they have to do in U25 so it have to take some time before they'll find decent replacement for magicka morph. Then there is coding procces where they have to implement that into the code and after that they'll have to run series of tests to check if things are working properly after implementation. All of that within their (I assume) 8 hours/day 5 days/week work schedule. It can take even few weeks for change "simple" like that to be fully prepared for PTS/live server release. Well with ZoS even few months tbf.

I don't think changing it to "distance travelled" would work. The morph now jumps from a significant distance. The leap point it the cut off point for increasing damage, which means you would only get max damage from a maximum distance which doesn't make sense, when fighting in close quarters. Even in it's original iteration it wasn't much of a useful effect.

Considering blighted blastbones debuffs the enemy, why not give magica morph a debuf instead? Like minor fracture, or off-balance (although with this patch everyone in PvP will be off - balance immune 99% of the time).

Maybe make the skeleton leave a small AOE after death? Drain health? Apply magica/health steal? There are so many options! For all I care, make it apply the same debuff as the stamina morph. Anything is better, than yet another distance related effect.

When will ZOS understand, that in the fast paced combat they designed (especially in Pvp, no player has time to even think about the distance). Most of us simply hit the skill when it stops being grayed out.

See, now this im totally down for!

I just want it fixed, man. Idc how they do it. But allowing it to apply a debuff would be pretty sick!

    Seconded! Those changes sound awesome!

Magicka version should summon two Blastbones for half damage, so you would get two corpses + a minor debuff.

How is that a buff ? The skill was outright broken and not working in multiple scenarios. Even in melee range against mobs while doing quests it just stands there doing nothing.

More like a long needed fix to the skill being broken for 8 months.

Clearly you are uninformed about what we are talking about.

The Stalking Blastbones morph has an effect that increases its damage by up to 50% for each second the Blastbone spends chasing the target. However, Blastbones no longer chases its target, it simply flies to it. So the effect doesn't work at all.

Without a working secondary effect, the Stalking Blastbones morph is no different from the base Blastbones ability, which is a problem. So people in this thread are proposing secondary effects to replace the now defunct one.

Also, Blastbones being bug fixed to work as advertised is not a buff, btw.

I've been seeing talk about this being the last week for the PTS, so after looking through the notes it seems that we're stuck with this morph of Blast Bones for the time being unfortunately

Kinda confused by this as I'm sure they've gotten tons of feedback saying the morph, quite literally, does nothing with current PTS changes.

Am reaaaaally going to be disappointed if this somehow makes it to live. All they have to do is change the name of the morph and what it does or even better, just fix how it works. Make distance ran to distance leaped, boom. There you go.

Nah zos just doesnt care for magica specs

Clearly in need of some tweaking. Even a boring 20% damage buff would be superior to a literally worthless morph

They could just switch Ricochet Skull and Stalking Blastbones effects

    NEW VERSIONS

Ricochet Skull: Every second the skull spends chasing its target increases the damage of the explosion by 10%, up to a maximum of 50% more damage. Creates a corpse on death.

Stalking Blastbones: Every third cast of this ability deals 20% increased damage and will bounce up to 2 times to other nearby enemies.

Yeah wth ZOS ?? I sure hope you saw the multiple threads about this issue since week 1 of PTS. It isn’t even listed in known issues in the patch notes.

A response that you are aware would be nice.

I reckon they will go with an easy fix by deployment date. Make it so it's "The further away you are the more damage it does".

I'm not saying they will do that, or that they will do anything at all. Just that if they did do something last minute, it'll be something simple.

Anything is possible though. They could make some huge changes last minute, no testing or feedback goes into it, and it'll go live with that.

I wrote my opinions on the matter here:

    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/511326/blast-bones-and-siphon-potential-fix-ideas

It would be nice if they did something. The sentiment and idea design are nice, but I just want a working product I paid for at this point.
